Earlier this week, we reported that Motorola is about to launch the Moto One Macro which will make its global debut in India. Going by a fresh leak, the company has yet another high-end smartphone in the pipeline, however, this device is made while keeping the Latin American markets in mind.

According to the source, the upcoming handset from Motorola will carry the Moto Z4 Force branding but that claim is hard to digest due to multiple reasons.

After the launch of the standard Moto Z4, a Twitter user posted a question on the company’s Twitter account to enquire about the launch details of its ‘Force’ variant. To which he received a reply that the company will not launch any other Moto Z devices this year.

Besides, as observed with prior ‘Force’ edition smartphones from the company, none of them was Android One certified or had a Glass back which will read about later in this article. Moreover, this device lacks support for Moto Mods that has been a staple to the ‘Z’ lineup of smartphones.

Whether the claims about the name of this smartphone are correct of not, we will learn in the future. For now, let’s consider it true as the tipster owns a functioning unit of the smartphone. Moving forward, let’s discuss its design and specifications.

Right of the bat, the alleged Moto Z4 Force will be the first smartphone from the company to have a pop-up selfie camera. Due to this feature, the handset is able to achieve a high screen-to-body ratio which will provide for an immersive experience while playing games or watching videos.

The rear of the smartphone seems to be made out of glass which houses a vertically aligned camera module, company branding, Android One logo and its key highlighting feature which is an LED ring surrounded fingerprint scanner. Talking more about the LED ring, it is assumed to double up as a notification light, hence, it might be able to change colours as well.

Except for the placement of the fingerprint sensor, the alleged Moto Z4 Force looks reminiscent of the Vivo V15 Pro which was launched in Q1 of this year.

According to the source, the handset packs the following specifications:

• Chipset: Snapdragon 855, Octa-Core CPU, Adreno 640 GPU
• RAM + ROM: 8 GB + 128 GB
• Rear Camera: 48 MP + 13 MP
• Battery: 3,230 mAh, 27 W fast charging 

As previously mentioned, it is hard to digest that this Motorola device will be called the Moto Z4 Force. Having said that, we will have to wait patiently until a company official reveals more details about the handset.

Motorola recently launched the Moto Z4 and fans of the brand are eager to see other models that are supposed to be part of the Z4 series. Sadly, we won’t be seeing any other iteration of the Moto Z4. The company was responding to a fan who wanted to know if the Z4 Force will be coming. The brand then tweeted that there won’t be an additional Moto Z devices this year. Thus, the Z4 Force or Z4 Play won’t be coming. Quite sad. Last year’s model had the Z3 Play but no Z3 Force. The Z2 Force from 2017 was the last model launched.

Since this is coming from Motorola US, it is possible the Z4 Play will be launched in other markets but not in the US. That is just a wild guess, though. One thing we can pick from this is that Motorola is treading carefully now, apparently in order to get effective sales. It seems to be sticking to the low-end and mid-range markets, ditching the high-end market, at least for now. Market data shows the company isn’t doing too badly after emerging from a turbulent financial downturn.

Recent reports have revealed that Motorola will be soon releasing Moto Z series of smartphones. Earlier this year, @OnLeaks had shared renders of Motorola Moto Z4 Play smartphone. In March, a new Motorola phone codenamed as “foles” was approved by Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The same phone is said to be internally codenamed as “stingray.” It was found that the phone is packed with mid-range specs. Earlier this month, Evan Blass shared a render of the Moto Z4 smartphone. Fresh information shared by XDA Developers that Z4 Play renders shared by @OnLeaks could actually belong to the Moto Z4 phone. Hence, it can be said that the Moto Z4 will be arriving as a mid-range phone.

The FCC documents of the “foles” Moto Z4 has a model number of XT1980-3. It is powered by the Snapdragon 675 chipset. It will be arriving with 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM. It may come in UFS 2.1 storage options such as 64 GB and 128 GB. It will be packed with a 3,600mAh battery. FCC reveals that its stock power adapter carries support for 18W fast charging.

The smartphone will be equipped with a single camera on its rear. It will include a 48-megapixel S5KM1SP sensor by Q technology that will be able to capture 12-megapixel shots by default. Fore capturing selfies, the handset will feature 25-megapixel Samsung S5K2X5 sensor.

The FCC filings do not have any information on the size of its display of the Moto Z4 smartphone. The handset measures 157 x 75mm which is similar to the Moto G7 Plus smartphone that comes with a 6.2-inch IPS LCD display with waterdrop notch. Hence, the Moto Z4 is likely to arrive with the same-sized screen. What’s known about Z4’s display is that it will be equipped with Goodix supplied in-display fingerprint reader. The smartphone is expected to come preloaded with Android 9 Pie OS. Lastly, the phone will carry support for Moto Mod accessories.

Recently, a leakster had revealed that the Moto Z4 will be available with a price tag of $399. He had also revealed some other features of the phone such as it will be sporting an IP67 rated chassis and it will be arriving in two models such as 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage.

The tipster had also revealed that Motorola will be also releasing Moto Z4 Force flagship phone powered by the Snapdragon 855 mobile platform and 8 GB of RAM. It is expected to sport the same display as Moto Z4. The other rumored features of the Z4 Force include 128 GB of native storage, in-display fingerprint scanner, a 3,230mAh battery and a triple camera setup with a 48-megapixel main sensor, a 13-megapixel sensor and a telephoto lens. It could be priced at $650.

Yesterday, popular tipster Evan Blass had shared a render of the upcoming Moto Z4 to reveal its appearance from all angles. Another tipster named Andri Yatim who has been consistently leaking information on Motorola phones since several years has revealed the price tag of Moto Z4. Moreover, he has also leaked the key specifications and pricing of the Moto Z4 Force flagship phone.

Moto Z4 Price and Specifications

According to the information shared by Yatim, the Moto Z4 will be arriving with a 6.4-inch OLED display that will carry support for full HD+ resolution. The big display will be embedded with an in-screen fingerprint reader. The Snapdragon 675 mobile platform will be fueling the smartphone. The SoC will be supported by 6 GB of RAM. The handset will come with a native storage of 128 GB. It will be arriving with an IP67 rated chassis.

The rear shell of the phone will have a single Smart AI camera of 48-megapixel with f/1.6 aperture. For capturing selfies, it will be fitted with an f/1.9 aperture 24.8-megapixel front camera. The handset will have a battery of 3,632mAh capacity. A previous leak had claimed that it will arrive with support for TurboCharge rapid charging technology.

Moto Z4 Force Price and Specifications

The Moto Z4 Force will be an advanced phone that will be fueled by the Snapdragon 855 mobile platform. The tipster hasn’t shared the display details of the Z4 Force smartphone. There is a possibility that it may arrive with the same display as Moto Z4. It will be also equipped with an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The SD855 chipset will be assisted by 8 GB of RAM on the Moto Z4 Force. The handset will be arriving with an internal storage of 128 GB.

The smartphone will be featuring a weird combination of triple camera sensors from Sony and OmniVision. The triple camera setup of the Z4 Force may include an f/1.6 aperture 48-megapixel primary sensor, an f/1.8 aperture 13-megapixel secondary sensor and an f/2.0 aperture telephoto lens. It will have the same selfie shooter that’s available on the Moto Z4 smartphone. The handset will feature a smaller battery of 3,230mAh capacity.
