Recent reports have revealed that the series include Kirin 820 5G powered Nova 7 SE phone, Kirin 985 powered Nova 7 5G and the flagship Nova 7 Pro 5G with Kirin 990 5G. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/04/18/huawei-nova-7-series-hands-on-images-leak-reveal-specs-and-design/">specifications of the Nova 7 series smartphones</a> were revealed over the weekend through their leaked live shots. Two new phones with model numbers HNB-AN00 and NEY-AN00 have appeared on Geekbench benchmarking platform. These phones appear to be the upcoming Nova 7 and Nova 7 Pro smartphones.</p>
<h3><strong>Huawei NEY-AN00 – Could it be Huawei Nova 7 Pro 5G?</strong></h3>
<p>The newly spotted NEY-AN00 Huawei smartphone is equipped with 5G connectivity. The Kirin SoC that fuels it has a base frequency of 1.95GHz which indicates that it could be fueled by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/kirin-990">Kirin 990</a> 5G SoC. This suggests that the NEY-AN00 may be the Nova 7 Pro 5GT smartphone.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/04/20/alleged-huawei-nova-7-and-nova-7-pro-5g-benchmarked-on-geekbench/alleged-huawei-nova-7-pro-5g-geekbench/" rel="attachment wp-att-317860"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-317860" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Alleged-Huawei-Nova-7-Pro-5G-Geekbench.jpg?x10805" alt="Alleged-Huawei-Nova-7-Pro-5G-Geekbench" width="954" height="1018" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Alleged-Huawei-Nova-7-Pro-5G-Geekbench.jpg 954w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Alleged-Huawei-Nova-7-Pro-5G-Geekbench-281x300.jpg 281w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Alleged-Huawei-Nova-7-Pro-5G-Geekbench-768x820.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Alleged-Huawei-Nova-7-Pro-5G-Geekbench-696x743.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Alleged-Huawei-Nova-7-Pro-5G-Geekbench-394x420.jpg 394w" sizes="(max-width: 954px) 100vw, 954px" /></a></p>
<p>The NEY-AN00 has 8 GB of RAM and it runs on Android 10 OS. In the Geekbench 5’s single-core and multi-core tests, it scored 753 and 2899 points, respectively.</p>

<h3><strong>Huawei HNB-AN10 – Could it be Huawei Nova 7 5G?</strong></h3>
<p>The HNB-AN00 Huawei phone recorded 655 in the single-core test of Geekbench 5. The handset achieved a scored of 2326 in the multi-core test. The smartphone is loaded with Android 10 OS and it has 8 GB of RAM.</p>

<p>The base frequency of the Kirin 5G chipset that power the HNB-AN00 is 1.84GHz. It seems to be the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/kirin-985">Kirin 985</a> chipset. Hence, it seems that the HNB-AN10 phone could be the Kirin 985 powered Nova 7 5G.</p>

The series will include the Nova 7 SE, the Nova 7, and the Nova 7 Pro. Ahead of the launch, live photos of the three phones have leaked on the web, they not only give us a look at the devices but also reveal their specifications.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h5><strong>Nova 7 SE 5G</strong></h5>
<p>The Nova 7 SE is shown to have a punch-hole display. The hole is at the top left corner and it&#8217;s not the smallest we have seen on a phone. Unfortunately, none of the images show the rear of the phone.</p>

<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/nova-7-se-b/'><img width="960" height="1280" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Nova-7-SE-b.jpg?x10805" class="attachment-full size-full" alt="Nova 7 SE" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Nova-7-SE-b.jpg 960w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Nova-7-SE-b-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Nova-7-SE-b-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Nova-7-SE-b-696x928.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Nova-7-SE-b-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></a>
<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/nova-7-se-a/'><img width="960" height="1280" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Nova-7-SE-a.jpg?x10805" class="attachment-full size-full" alt="Nova 7 SE" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Nova-7-SE-a.jpg 960w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Nova-7-SE-a-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Nova-7-SE-a-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Nova-7-SE-a-696x928.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Nova-7-SE-a-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></a>

<p>The image that shows the About Phone section of the device reveals the phone has a 6.5-inch LCD display with a 2400 x 1080 resolution. There is a Kirin 820 5G processor inside the device and it draws power from a 4000mAh battery. The image also confirms the phone has support for 40W wired fast charging.</p>
<p>The Nova 7 SE has a 16MP f/2.0 front-facing camera and one of the rear cameras is a 2MP f/2.4 sensor. The Nova 7 SE will run EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10 out of the box. Its dimensions are 162.31 x 75.0 x 8.58 millimeters and its weight is 189 grams.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h5><strong>Nova 7 5G</strong></h5>
<p>The Nova 7 has a punch-hole display too but the hole appears to be smaller in size. The display also appears to be wider than that of the Nova 7 SE. The image of the rear shows the phone has four cameras arranged vertically and housed in a rectangle along with an LED flash.</p>
<p>The Nova 7 5G will have a 6.53-inch OLED display with a 2400 x 1080 resolution. It will be powered by the new Kirin 985 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage.</p>

<p>The Nova 7 teaser video reveals that it is equipped with a display that marvelously curves towards its left and right edges. It seems to be an OLED display that supports full HD+ resolution. There is a pill-shaped cutout at the upper-left corner of the screen which indicates that the phone will be flaunting dual selfie cameras. It could be featuring an in-display fingerprint sensor.</p>
<h4 style="text-align: center"><strong><div class="su-note" style="border-color:#e5e5e5;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;"><div class="su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim" style="background-color:#ffffff;border-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;">Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/04/17/huawei-matepad-10-4-pre-orders-begin-in-china-ahead-of-april-23-launch/">Huawei MatePad 10.4 pre-orders begin in China ahead of April 23 launch</a></div></div></strong></h4>
<p>While the Nova 7 SE is expected to arrive as the starting model in the Nova 7 series, it is unclear whether the handset shown in the teaser video is the Nova 7 or Nova 7 Pro. It is likely that the company may offer a curved display on the Pro model.</p>

<p>A silhouette of the rear design of the smartphone shows that it is equipped with a vertical camera system. A poster of the Nova 7 smartphone that surfaced recently revealed that its quad camera setup includes a periscope zoom lens that will bring support for up to 50x zoom. The Nova 7 could be powered by the Kirin 985 chipset, the Pro model may feature the Kirin 990 5G SoC and the Nova 7 SE could be driven by the Kirin 820 5G.</p>
<p>So far, the rumor mill has only revealed the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/06/huawei-nova-7-se-key-specifications-appear-before-speculated-april-launch/">key specs of the Huawei Nova 7 SE smartphone</a>. The handset is expected to carry support for 22.5W fast charging.</p>

A recent report had revealed that the Chinese firm may announce it <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/04/03/huawei-nova-7-7-se-7-pro-likely-to-debut-on-april-23/">on April 23</a>. However, the company is still mum on the existence of the arrival of Nova 7 lineup. A popular leakster from China has shared a blurry poster of the Nova 7 series. The blurry image manages to reveal the front and rear design of the smartphone.</p>
<p>Past reports have revealed that the Huawei Nova 7 lineup comprises of three devices, namely <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/02/29/huawei-nova-7-5g-nova-7-se-5g-and-nova-7-pro-5g-coming-soon/">Nova 7, Nova 7 SE and Nova 7 Pro</a>. All these phones are expected to arrive with 5G support. It is unclear whether the handset shown in the leaked poster is the vanilla Nova 7 or SE or the Pro model.</p>
<p>The poster reveals that the Nova 7 series handset has a rectangle-shaped camera housing on the back. The handset seems to be equipped with an impressive curved screen. There is a pill-shaped dual camera cutout at the top-left corner of the display. It appears that the smartphone will be available in blue and gradient white colors. Lastly, the poster reveals that popular Chinese singer Yi Yangqiaxi (also known as Jackson Yee) endorsing the Nova 7 series.</p>

At least three phones are expected &#8211; the Nova 7 SE which should be the second phone with the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/30/honor-unveils-7nm-kirin-820-5g-chipset-brings-big-improvements-over-the-kirin-810/">Kirin 820 5G</a> chipset; the Nova 7; and the Nova 7 Pro with all having support for 5G.</p>
<p>The Nova 7 and Nova 7 Pro should have the Kirin 990 5G chipsets but the latest reports say the Nova 7 may actually come with a different processor &#8211; a new chipset to be unveiled soon called the Kirin 985.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-313688" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Kirin-985-1.jpg?x10805" alt="Kirin 985" width="1024" height="824" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Kirin-985-1.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Kirin-985-1-300x241.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Kirin-985-1-768x618.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Kirin-985-1-696x560.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Kirin-985-1-522x420.jpg 522w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>Of course, this is not the first time we have heard of the Kirin 985. Prior to the launch of the Kirin 990 and Kirin 990 5G, it was reported that <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/huawei">Huawei</a> was working on a processor called the Kirin 985 and that <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/12/23/huaweis-next-flagship-mobile-processor-is-called-the-kirin-985-may-power-the-huawei-p30-series/">it would power the P30 series</a> but that didn&#8217;t happen. It was then reported that it would <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/03/19/huawei-kirin-985-launching-this-year/">launch in the second half of 2019</a> but that too didn&#8217;t happen.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-313686" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Kirin-985.jpg?x10805" alt="Kirin 985" width="739" height="306" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Kirin-985.jpg 739w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Kirin-985-300x124.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Kirin-985-696x288.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 739px) 100vw, 739px" /></p>
<p>A Chinese blogger posted a few days ago on Weibo that the Kirin 985 (name might be changed) is coming.</p>
<p>Going by previous knowledge of the chipset, it may be built using the 7nm+ EUV lithography process and will be paired with the Balong 5000 modem. With respect to performance, it should be more powerful than the Kirin 820 5G.</p>
<p><em>Huawei Central</em> reported that the chipset may power the Nova 7 Pro too but seeing as the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-nova-6-5g/">Nova 6 5G</a> is powered by a Kirin 990 chipset, and the Kirin 985 is not going to be more powerful than it (Kirin 990), it makes no sense to use the Kirin 985 in the Nova 7 Pro.</p>

<p>According to the agency, the Nova 7 has model number JEF-AN00 while the Nova 7 Pro&#8217;s model number is JER-AN10. The two phones support NSA and SA 5G networks. The two phones are expected to come with the Kirin 990 5G chipset powering them based on a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/02/29/huawei-nova-7-5g-nova-7-se-5g-and-nova-7-pro-5g-coming-soon/">leak from last month</a>.</p>

<p>The Nova 7 phones will also support 40W fast charging according to a 3C certification page. We expect the complete specifications of the two phones will be published in a few days by TENAA.</p>

<p>The information was shared by a known blogger on Weibo, the popular Chinese microblogging website. Going by the history of his previous releases, there is a chance that the information is accurate but we will have to wait for an official company announcement for any confirmation. According to the leak, the Huawei Nova 7 will be released in early April 2020.</p>

<p>This puts it right after the launch of the company&#8217;s flagship <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-p40/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">P40 series</a>, as stated in the post. Huawei is planning on unveiling the P40 series in Paris, France on 26th March 2020, while its Chinese launch is expected to arrive in the first week of April (around 2nd April 2020 according to the blogger). Immediately after this, the Nova 7 is expected to be launched. This would mark a relatively close release interval between the Nova 6 and the upcoming entry; just a 4 month gap between the two.</p>
