Gigabyte has launched a new range of gaming laptops in India called the Gigabyte G5 series. The lineup includes the G5 GD, G5 MD, and G5 KD laptops. The main difference between these laptops is the GPUs included within. So, let’s take a look at what these machines have to offer.

The laptops in the Gigabyte G5 series have a 15.6-inch IPS LCD screen with an FHD+ resolution. It provides a peak brightness of 300 nits and a refresh rate of 144Hz. The laptops have a backlit keyboard with up to 15 pre-programmed backlit colors.

Intel’s 11th Gen Core i5-11400H (2.7GHz~4.5GHz) CPUs power the laptop. NVIDIA RTX 3050, RTX 3050Ti, and RTX 3060 GPUs are installed in the GD, MD, and KD models, respectively. The laptops have 512GB NVMe SSD storage and 16GB RAM. Additionally, there are two M.2 slots and a swappable bay with a maximum storage capacity of 6TB. The laptops have WINDFORCE cooling technology, which has a 150W maximum cooling efficiency.

For audio, the laptop comes with 2W speakers with DTS:X audio technology and two-way AI noise cancellation. The laptops come with Windows 11 Home preinstalled and also pack a free one-year subscription to Microsoft Office 365 personal version. The 48.96WHrs battery unit powering the GIGABYTE G5 series laptops supports 150W charging on the GD and MD variants. 180W charging speed is supported for the KD model. The laptops’ interfaces for connectivity include HDMI, an SD card reader, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, three USB Type-A ports, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The GIGABYTE G5 series’ GD variant costs Rs 68,990. The prices for the MD and KD variations are, respectively Rs 71,890 and Rs 83,890. All three variants of the G5 series laptops can be purchased from Flipkart.

Acer has just launched a new Predator Helios 300 gaming laptop in India. What makes this launch special is the fact that this is the first laptop to come with a 360Hz refresh rate display in the Indian market. So let’s take a look at all its specs and features.

Acer Predator Helios 300 specs and features

The Acer Predator Helios 300 gaming laptop features a 15.6-inch full-HD IPS (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) LED-backlit TFT LCD display with a peak brightness of 300 nits, 100 percent sRGB coverage, and up to 3ms response time. As mentioned above, the laptop features a 360Hz refresh rate panel.

The new Acer gaming laptop comes equipped with an Intel Core i9-11900H octa-core processor clocked at 4.9GHz and 16 threads. On the graphics front, we get an Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU with 6GB GDDR6 VRAM. The laptop is offered with 16GB DDR4 RAM which can be further upgraded to 32GB and is offered with upto 1TB of PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD storage. The device comes with Windows 11 out of the box.

The laptop’s cooling systems has been upgraded with 5th Gen AeroBlade 3D Fan Technology, which has been optimised with Vortex Flow’s wind-guiding optimization to maintain strong airflow, to avoide thermal throtelling scenarios.

The keyboard also gets an upgrade this time around with 4-zone RGB, a larger space key, and translucent keycaps. The touchpad on the Acer Predator Helios 300 also offers gesture support. The device comes with an integrated 720P webcam.

Connectivity options on the Acer Predator Helios 300 include Bluetooth v5.1, HDMI port, USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4 port, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port with offline charging support. It also comes with Intel’s Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX 1650 for connectivity.

The new Acer Predator Helios 300 gaming laptop will be sold online via Indian e-commerce website Flipkart. The device will also be made available at Acer’s offline stores and authorised retailers. The Predator Helios 300 is priced at Rs. 1,44,999 in the country.

Razer Blade 15, Blade Pro 17- Price, Availability

The Razer Blade 15 base model and Advanced model starts at $1699, $2499 respectively. The Base model is already up for pre-orders and will be available for sale from January 26 whereas the Advanced model’s shipment will happen only in February.

The 17.3-inch Pro model, although being a higher-end machine, starts at $2299. Similar to the 15-inch, this is also in pre-orders but Razer has given a vague availability of Q1 2021 for shipping/sale date.
