POCO M8 Pro Specifications

The Chinese brand’s new POCO M8 Pro just debuted with a tall 6.83-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, 3840Hz PWM dimming, DC Dimming, Dolby Vision, up to 3200 nits of peak brightness, and Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. Under the hood, the device is equipped with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 SoC, which is coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Out of the box, this model runs on the Android 15 OS based HyperOS 2 custom skin.

A huge 6,500mAh battery pack powers this model, which supports 100W wired fast charging. For photography, the rear has a 50MP Light Fusion 800 (1/1.55inch) main sensor along with an 8MP ultra wide angle lens. Meanwhile, the front houses a 32MP camera for selfies and video calls. Other notable features include an IP66 + IP68 + IP69 + IP69K rating for water and dust resistance, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, an in-display fingerprint scanner, Bluetoth 5.4, WiFi 6, and dual nano SIM.

We’re going to see many exciting launches from major Chinese brands, including Xiaomi, Realme, Oppo, OnePlus, and Honor. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait until the launch for the details, as we already know most of them through brand teasers and leaks. So, let’s take a closer look at the upcoming phones, along with all the details we know so far.

1. Oppo Reno 15 series

Launch date: January 8, 2026

Oppo Reno 15 series will launch in India on January 8, featuring three models: Reno 15, Reno 15 Pro, and Reno 15 Pro Mini. All three models are confirmed to feature Aerospace-Grade Aluminium frames and Oppo’s HoloFusion technology. The latter offers a 3D layered visual effect to the glass back.

The 15 Pro model has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. The 15 Pro Mini features a 6.32-inch AMOLED display, while the standard 15 sits in the middle with a 6.59-inch AMOLED display. Both have Gorilla Glass 7i coating. All three models have IP66 + IP68 + IP69 ratings in common.

The standard Reno 15 is reportedly priced under Rs. 50,000, while the Pro Mini model may be offered for under Rs. 40,000. The Reno 15 Pro could have a price tag above Rs. 50,000.

2. Poco M8 series

Launch date: January 8, 2026

On the same day, Poco will unveil its Poco M8 series in India, featuring two models: Poco M8 5G and Poco M8 Pro 5G. The phones will be sold via Flipkart.

The Poco M8 is confirmed to feature a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset paired with 8GB RAM, achieving over 825,000 points on the AnTuTu V11 benchmark. Sadly, it will come with Android 15-based HyperOS 2, not HyperOS 3, although the brand promises a quicker rollout. On the plus side, Poco guarantees 4 years of OS upgrades, along with 6 years of security updates for the standard M8.

The Poco M8 Pro will reportedly feature a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, a 50MP + 8MP dual rear camera, a 32MP selfie camera, and a 6,500mAh battery with 100W fast wired charging. It may also come with HyperOS 2 software, based on Android 15.

3. OnePlus Turbo 6 series

Launch date: January 8, 2026

OnePlus has also locked in the same date for the launch of its flagship-grade OnePlus Turbo 6 series. However, it will debut in China and will likely launch with a different name for the rest of the world.

The lineup comprises OnePlus Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V. The former is confirmed to pack a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, a 1.5K resolution display with support for a 165Hz refresh rate.

The highlight of the Turbo 6 series is the battery capacity. The Turbo 6 packs a massive 9,000mAh battery, while the Turbo 6V will arrive with a smaller but still powerful 7,000mAh battery.

The OnePlus 6V is confirmed to feature a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor and a 6.8-inch OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate.

Rumors are that the OnePlus Turbo 6 could launch outside China as the Nord 6.

4. Honor Power 2

Launch date: January 5, 2026

The Honor Power 2 debuted earlier this week as the first smartphone launch of 2026. Like the OnePlus Turbo 6 series, it’s also in the news for bringing a massive 10,080mAh battery, with support for 80W fast wired charging and 27W reverse charging.

The smartphone features a 6.79-inch AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 8,000 nits and a 120Hz refresh rate. At its core is the Dimensity 8500 Elite chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. The rear camera module features a 50MP primary camera and a 5MP ultrawide camera, along with a 16MP selfie shooter.

Honor Power 2 has been launched in China, where it sells for 2,699 CNY (around Rs. 34,900) for the 12GB + 512GB variant, and goes up to 2,999 CNY (around Rs. 38,700) for the 12GB + 512GB variant. The brand hasn’t confirmed its global availability yet.

5. Realme 16 Pro series

Launch date: January 6, 2026

The Realme 16 Pro series has been launched in India, increasing the brand’s mid-range portfolio with two more devices: Realme 16 Pro 5G and Realme 16 Pro+ 5G.

The 16 Pro has a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, 6500nits peak brightness, and HDR10+ support. The Pro+ model features a slightly larger 6.8-inch screen, while the rest of the display specifications remain largely unchanged. Both phones come with Android 16-based Realme UI 7.0 skin and promise up to three major Android upgrades.

There’s Dimensity 7300 Max powering the Realme 16 Pro, whereas the 16 Pro+ has a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. The latter also gets an additional 50MP periscope telephoto camera, in addition to a 200MP primary shooter and an 8MP ultrawide unit. Both phones, however, have the same 50MP selfie camera.

Both smartphones carry the same 7,000mAh battery capacity with support for 80W wired charging and a bypass charging feature. As for the pricing, the Realme 16 Pro starts at Rs. 31,999 and the Realme 16 Pro+ starts at Rs. 39,999.

6. Redmi Note 15 5G

Launch date: January 6, 2026

Alongside the Realme 16 Pro series, Xiaomi also unveiled the more affordable Redmi Note 15 in India, with a starting price of Rs. 22,999. The smartphone features a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 3200nits of peak brightness.

The Redmi Note 15 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, paired with 8GB RAM and 128/256GB storage, further expandable up to 1TB with a microSD card. Furthermore, it offers a 108MP primary camera on the back, paired with an 8MP ultrawide camera. On the other side, it has a 20MP selfie camera. Additionally, the Note 15 packs a 5,220mAh battery with support for 45W fast wired charging.

The Poco M8 with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage lists at RUB 26,817 (approximately $340/INR 30,500), while the 512GB variant costs RUB 31,167 ($396/INR 35,500).

The M8 Pro comes with a higher price tag: RUB 36,242 ($460/INR 41,300) for 8GB RAM/256GB storage, and RUB 38,793 ($492/INR 44,200) for 12GB RAM/512GB storage. These figures don’t account for varying international taxes and may differ in other markets.

Poco M8 Specifications

As per the listings, the standard M8 features a 6.77-inch 120Hz curved AMOLED display powered by Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and Android 15-based HyperOS 2. Camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor, 2MP depth sensor, and 20MP front camera. The device packs a 5,520mAh battery supporting 45W fast charging.

Poco M8 Pro Specifications

The Pro model upgrades to a larger 6.83-inch quad-curved AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. It runs on Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 with HyperOS 2.

POCO will launch its M8 5G series phones in India next month, according to tipster Paras Guglani on X. The devices are rebranded versions of the Redmi Note 15 series, which launches on January 6, 2026.

M8 Pro 5G Specs

The Pro model uses a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip with a 6.83-inch quad-curved AMOLED display at 2772 x 1280 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. The camera setup adds an 8MP ultrawide to the 50MP OIS main camera, plus a 32MP selfie camera.

It has a 6,500mAh battery with 100W charging. Despite the bigger battery, it’s thinner at 7.9mm but heavier at 207g. It measures 162.5 x 74.7 x 7.9mm. Like the standard model, it has IP68 rating, optical fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 5, IR blaster, and hybrid microSD slot, but gets Bluetooth 5.4.

As per the report, the Poco M8 Pro will have a 6.83-inch OLED panel that offers a 1.5K resolution (2772 x 1080p) and up to a 120Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, the Poco M8 is expected to arrive with a 6.77-inch OLED FHD+ 120Hz display.

The Poco M8 will be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and a 5,520mAh battery with 45W charging support. On the other hand, the M8 Pro will be equipped with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4v and a 6,500mAh battery with 100W charging.

The Poco M8 may arrive with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, whereas the M8 Pro will be available with 8GB / 12GB of RAM and 256GB / 512GB of storage. The report concludes by stating that the M8 will have an IP65 rating, whereas the M8 Pro will offer an IP68 rating. Unfortunately, the report has no information about the camera specs of both phones.

The leaked renders show that the M8 and M8 Pro will arrive in black, blue and silver shades. The latter has black edges on both sides with a dual-tone look in the middle.

Poco’s next mid-range phone is getting closer to launch, and its latest stop is the FCC. The Poco M8 Pro, which is widely expected to be a rebrand of Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 15 Pro+, has now cleared US certification ahead of the global launch.

The device showed up under the model number 2510EPC8BG, with the “G” suffix confirming it’s a global variant. The device is seen running the HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15. The connectivity option includes support for 2G through 5G networks, Wi-Fi 6E, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth, and NFC, which has become standard across most Poco devices.

As for the battery, the FCC filing confirms the Poco M8 Pro will feature a 6330mAh rated battery (model number BM6J). Its adapter is modeled MDY-19-EX and is rated for 100W of power. 

The listing also hints at three storage configurations: 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, 12GB/256GB, and 12GB/512GB. 

To top it off, the phone has also been spotted in an IMEI database, where both the model number and the Poco M8 Pro name are mentioned together. This further confirms the launch is near. 

Poco M8 Pro: What to expect

Poco M8 Pro’s previous spotting on Xiaomi codebase with a model number similar to Redmi Note 15 Pro+ hints that the two phones will share many of their specs. 

To start off, you can expect an AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The phone could be powered by Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, and feature a 200MP rear main camera coupled with an 8MP ultrawide. The front has a 32MP sensor for selfies. 

Other specs include an in-display fingerprint scanner, dual speakers with a Dolby Atmos rating, and an IP68 rating.

In separate news, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G has just been launched in Poland for a starting price of around $550.

Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO may soon refresh its mid-range lineup, and the upcoming POCO M8 Pro looks like it will carry more than a little DNA from Redmi’s latest release.

According to new reports, the device could be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 15 Pro+, which launched in China this week as part of the broader Redmi Note 15 series.

The Redmi Note 15 family includes three models: the standard Note 15 5G, Note 15 Pro 5G, and Note 15 Pro+ 5G. The global version of the Pro+ has already been rumored to ship with some minor differences compared to its Chinese counterpart.

For instance, firmware details uncovered by X user PaperKing 13 reveal that the Note 15 Pro+ global version will have a 6,500mAh battery and 100W charging, instead of a 7,000mAh and 90W setup combo found in China.

A change of strategy for Poco

The same firmware also points to the device launching under POCO’s banner as the M8 Pro. Although POCO rebranding Redmi phones is nothing new, what’s interesting here is how Xiaomi seems to be shuffling its strategy.

The POCO M7 Pro was a rebrand of the standard Redmi Note 14. As a result, we are expecting the successor to be a rebrand of vanilla Note 15. But things seem to be different now. 

As a rebrand, the POCO M8 Pro will feature a 6,500mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging. It will also reportedly use OmniVision’s OVX8000 main camera, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide sensor.

Other hardware should closely mirror the Redmi Note 15 Pro+.
