This is the first phone in the company&#8217;s new Pro series, which is targeted at the high-end market. Like promised, the Pro 5 flagship comes with top-notch specs that will put most other smartphones to shame.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/pro-5-03.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-59810" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/pro-5-03.jpg?x44794" alt="pro 5 03" width="600" height="321" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/pro-5-03.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/pro-5-03-300x160.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>The Meizu Pro 5 comes with the powerful<strong><span style="color: #ff0000;"> Exynos 7420 chipset</span> </strong>under the hood. This is a great move from the company since at present, Exynos 7420 is one of the best SoCs in the market. The same chip powers the company&#8217;s Galaxy Series which have received positive reviews for their performance. Plus its built using the advanced <strong>14nm FinFet process</strong> making it all the more efficient. Further, the phone comes with <strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Mali-T760 MP8 GPU</span></strong> and <strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">16nm UFS Flash memory</span></strong>. There will be <strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">3GB / 4GB DDR4</span></strong> RAM options and storage starts at<strong><span style="color: #ff0000;"> 32GB</span></strong> with higher version getting <strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">64GB</span></strong>.</p>

<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/CPklSiJWgAA6yj3.png?x44794'><img width="600" height="255" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/CPklSiJWgAA6yj3.png?x44794" class="attachment-large size-large" alt="" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/CPklSiJWgAA6yj3.png 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/CPklSiJWgAA6yj3-300x128.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a>
<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/CPkmI4vWgAAZVQz.png?x44794'><img width="600" height="255" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/CPkmI4vWgAAZVQz.png?x44794" class="attachment-large size-large" alt="" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/CPkmI4vWgAAZVQz.png 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/CPkmI4vWgAAZVQz-300x128.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a>

<p>Like the founder Bai Yongxiang revealed a few days back, the Pro 5 flagship will come with a <span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>5.7-inch FHD 1080p</strong></span> Diamond <span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>Super AMOLED display with 2.5D Glass</strong></span>. So, we won&#8217;t be seeing any 2K smartphones from the company anytime soon.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/pro-5-02.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-59811" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/pro-5-02.jpg?x44794" alt="pro 5 02" width="600" height="346" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/pro-5-02.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/pro-5-02-300x173.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>At the back, there&#8217;s a powerful <strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">21MP Sony IMX230 Sensor</span></strong>. The camera module features a new ISP, which supports shooting at <strong>24 fps as well</strong>. The company claims that the camera launches in just 0.7 seconds. <strong>Laser AF focuses in just 0.2 seconds</strong>. Interestingly, the company is yet to announce the specs of the front camera.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/CPkzqO-VAAAPq4N.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-59802" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/CPkzqO-VAAAPq4N.png?x44794" alt="CPkzqO-VAAAPq4N" width="600" height="255" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/CPkzqO-VAAAPq4N.png 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/CPkzqO-VAAAPq4N-300x128.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>With such powerful specs, you need a large battery. While the <strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">3050mAh battery</span></strong> isn&#8217;t the largest we have seen in a flagship, its still good enough to last you an entire day. Meizu claims that with<strong> 5 hours of heavy usage the phone still has about 43%</strong> charge. This is because it comes with a <strong>new efficient sensor hub that reduces power consumption by up to 30%</strong>. What&#8217;s even better is that the phone comes with <strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">mCharge 2.0</span></strong>, which charges up to<strong><span style="color: #ff0000;"> 60% in just 30 minutes</span></strong>. That&#8217;s pretty impressive. Plus, you get the new USB Type-C port as well.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/CPknlBEWEAAJps8.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-59809" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/CPknlBEWEAAJps8.png?x44794" alt="CPknlBEWEAAJps8" width="600" height="255" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/CPknlBEWEAAJps8.png 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/CPknlBEWEAAJps8-300x128.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>Meizu started off as an MP3 player manufacturer. And now the company is using its previous experience in the field to attract audiophiles. The new Meizu Pro 5 smartphone will come with<strong><span style="color: #ff0000;"> Hi-Fi 2.0</span></strong>. It comes with <strong>ES9018 DAC chip</strong> and <strong>OPA1612 operational amp</strong> to make sure that music output is of high quality.</p>
<p>As for the software, like we expected, the Pro 5 comes with Flyme 4.5 out of the box. However, the phone will soon (by Nov 15) be upgraded to <strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Flyme 5.0</span></strong> based on Android 5.1. The new Flyme OS brings a lot of upgrades like <strong>personalized lock screen, new icons, real time, color change with content, split screen multi-tasking, new security center, custom fonts (200+) and over 300+ such features and optimizations</strong>. Connectivity options are standard with<strong><span style="color: #ff0000;"> Cat. 6 LTE support (300MBPS +) and VoLTE</span> </strong>support as well.</p>
<p>Also, like the MX5, you get the mBack button integrated with mTouch fingerprint ID.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/CPky94FW8AA4k0Y.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-59803" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/CPky94FW8AA4k0Y.png?x44794" alt="CPky94FW8AA4k0Y" width="600" height="255" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/CPky94FW8AA4k0Y.png 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/CPky94FW8AA4k0Y-300x128.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>As for the pricing, the Meizu Pro 5 flagship starts at 2799 Yuan ($438) for the 3GB RAM + 32GB version and 3099 Yuan ($485) for 4GB + 64GB version. The phone goes on sale on October 12.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, if you are interested, you can pre-order the phone at giztop.</p>

We have been hearing a lot about the device in the past few weeks, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/09/15/meizu-ceo-confirms-5-7-inch-1080p-display-on-the-pro-5-flagship/">thanks to the numerous leaks online</a>. Meizu&#8217;s Chief Architect of Flyme OS, Yang Yan also revealed yesterday that the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/09/17/meizu-pro-5-wont-come-with-flyme-5-os-at-launch/">flagship won&#8217;t be coming with Flyme 5 OS based on Android 5.1 out of the box</a>. This was disappointing and kind of surprising as well given that Flyme 5 debuts alongside the Pro 5 flagship.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/wpid-wp-1442557017710.jpeg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-59334" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/wpid-wp-1442557017710.jpeg?x44794" alt="wpid-wp-1442557017710.jpeg" width="350" height="142" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/wpid-wp-1442557017710.jpeg 350w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/wpid-wp-1442557017710-300x122.jpeg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px" /></a></p>
<p>Now, we have received more details about the upcoming Pro 5 device, thanks to the certification at the National 3C Quality Certification Center. According to the listing, the new Meizu flagship will come in two variants, one with the model number M576 and the other with M576U. These two could be the low-end and high-end variants of the new flagship.</p>
<p>While we kind of knew there would be two variants before hand, the listing also reveals that both the models will support fast charging at 12V / 2A. That&#8217;s charging at an impressive 24W, which will definitely speed up the overall charging times. The listing only reveals the model number of these two devices, but given that Meizu has an event for the release of Pro 5 next week, its almost likely that these two are the Pro 5 models.</p>
<p>As for the specs, the Meizu Pro 5 flagship is expected to feature a <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/09/15/meizu-ceo-confirms-5-7-inch-1080p-display-on-the-pro-5-flagship/">5.7-inch FHD 1080p display </a>with Samsung Exynos 7420 chipset. Like mentioned above, there will be two variants of the device, 3GB + 16GB and 4GB + 32GB models. At the back, there will be a powerful 21MP camera, while up front expect a 5MP selfie shooter. While the battery size is unknown, at 12V / 2A, you wouldn&#8217;t have to wait for more than a hour or two to get it fully charged.</p>
