<p>We already know that <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/realme/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Realme </a>is working on a new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/realme-gt-neo-5/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">GT Neo 5</a> smartphone model. But a new leak has revealed the key specification of the device ahead of its official launch and it appears that the phone will be available in two options. So let&#8217;s have a look. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/007lLcywgy1h9zq3jzc2ej30tw2r4wq4-309x1024.jpg?x10805" alt="Realme" class="wp-image-507941" width="247" height="817" /></figure></div>

<p>The Chinese smartphone maker&#8217;s GT Neo 5 has already been spotted on leaks and official certifications. Now, a new leak from a tipster on Weibo (Panda is Bald) shared key details as well as the two GT Neo 5 variants. Looking at the specs list, the GT Neo 5 will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC on both variants. Furthermore, the two models will also sport a tall 6.74 inch OLED display that has a 20.1:9 aspect ratio 2772 x 1240p resolution and 144Hz refresh rate.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Screenshot_2023-01-11_133507.png?x10805" alt="Realme" class="wp-image-507945" width="541" height="236" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Screenshot_2023-01-11_133507.png 796w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Screenshot_2023-01-11_133507-300x132.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Screenshot_2023-01-11_133507-768x337.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Screenshot_2023-01-11_133507-696x305.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 541px) 100vw, 541px" /></figure></div>

<p>Both phones also weigh 199 grams and feature a triple camera setup on the rear. This consists of a 50 megapixel Sony IMX890 primary sensor paired with an 8 megapixel and a 2 megapixel shooter. So, the primary difference between these two models is only the charging rates and battery pack. One model will feature a large 5,000mAh battery that supports 150W fast charging, while the second variant will offer a faster 240W fast charging support but with a smaller 4,600mAh battery.</p>

<p>This is in line with one of our previous reports. A recent TENAA certification listing had also revealed the same information earlier this week. The two versions carry the model number <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/01/06/realme-gt-neo-5-tenaa-images-3c-listings-before-february-launch/">RMX706 and RMX3708</a>. So stick around for more as we will be providing updates when additional information is available regarding this matter.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400">In a press release sent to the media, Realme has revealed its plans to launch the ‘world’s fastest smartphone charging technology’ on February 28. Unfortunately, the brand hasn&#8217;t shared any details on this tech, except that under the go premium strategy, it will invest 70% of its R&amp;D resources in innovation and charging technology.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Nonetheless, the company does hint that the new tech will be faster than its older <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/16/realme-125w-ultradart-fast-charging-announced/">125W charging technology</a>. But to know how fast, we will have to wait for a week.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">According to </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/02/11/realme-first-150w-charging-phone/"><span style="font-weight: 400">rumors</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">, realme will be debuting a 150W fast smartphone charging technology. Renowned tipster Digital Chat Station says that this tech is a rebadged version of </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/OPPO/"><span style="font-weight: 400">OPPO</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">’s upcoming 160W fast smartphone charging technology but at 10W slower. Despite being slightly slower, it will use the same charger.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">We are not sure why </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/realme/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Realme</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> is calling its forthcoming 150W smartphone charging technology is ‘world’s fastest’ when Xiaomi had already </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/05/31/xiaomi-introduces-200w-wired-and-120w-wireless-hypercharge-solutions-fully-charges-in-8-minutes/"><span style="font-weight: 400">debuted a 200W charging solution</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> last year, which can fill a 4,000mAh battery in 8 minutes.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Perhaps, Realme’s tech will take less time despite using lower wattage. But then what about OPPO’s original solution, which is rumored to be even faster? Do let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.</span></p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-442902" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/realme-150w-charging-tech-dcs.png?x10805" alt="realme 150w charging tech dcs" width="961" height="261" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/realme-150w-charging-tech-dcs.png 961w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/realme-150w-charging-tech-dcs-300x81.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/realme-150w-charging-tech-dcs-768x209.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/realme-150w-charging-tech-dcs-696x189.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 961px) 100vw, 961px" /></p>
<p>The highest-rated charging smartphones on the market right now peak out at 120W, capable of filling up 4,000 to 5,000mAh batteries in just 15 minutes or so. All brands currently capable of this are Chinese with some of them being Xiaomi, iQOO, and OPPO.</p>
<p>One of the known upcoming offerings with support for 120W+ charging is the REDMAGIC 7 Pro. It features 135W super flash charging and comes with a 165W gallium nitride charger. The 5,000mAh unit in the phone can be filled up to 100% in just 15 minutes.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-442903 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/realme-gt-neo-2-charging-tech-1024x615.jpg?x10805" alt="realme gt neo 2 charging tech" width="696" height="418" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/realme-gt-neo-2-charging-tech-1024x615.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/realme-gt-neo-2-charging-tech-300x180.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/realme-gt-neo-2-charging-tech-768x461.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/realme-gt-neo-2-charging-tech-696x418.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/realme-gt-neo-2-charging-tech-1068x641.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/realme-gt-neo-2-charging-tech-700x420.jpg 700w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/realme-gt-neo-2-charging-tech-1920x1152.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p>In the Android camp, companies like realme, Xiaomi, and nubia have continued to smoke the competition. The iPhone 13 series only supports up to 29W charging while Samsung&#8217;s fastest charging phone tolerates no further than 45W.</p>
<p>Aforementioned fast charging freaks are also already <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/01/11/xiaomi-and-oppo-to-soon-commercialize-200w-fast-charging-technology/">working on 200W charging solutions</a>. Xiaomi’s 200W charging speed demonstration for the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro earlier showed that the solution could charge the phone’s entire 4,000mAh battery in under 8 minutes. Commercial release of the tech is still likely several months away though.</p>
