<p>Realme recently unveiled the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/realme-gt5-pro/"> Realme GT 5 Pro</a>, featuring some high-end specifications and exciting new features&#8230;The flagship seems to go global if we believe the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/29/realme-india-teases-periscope-zoom-camera-flagship-phone-launch-imminent/"> recent teasers via Realme India X.com handle</a>. Amid all this, a new Realme 5G smartphone has hit the FCC with model code RMX3867. The same smartphone made it to TKDN and EEC certifications earlier this month. </p>

<p>The FCC listing confirms the smartphone&#8217;s 5G connectivity, support for NFC, and the presence of 4880 mAh, aka 5000 mAh, a typical Li-ion Polymer battery (BLPA43). The smartphone runs Reame UI 5.0, based on Android 14. Further, if we consider the other power supply voltage of 4.5V, then it could feature maximum charging support of more than 50W charging speed. </p>

<p>Other details are yet to be known, and we expect more information in the coming few days. The smartphone&#8217;s listing on TKDN also confirmed 5G connectivity but failed to reveal more information. </p>

<h2><strong>Speculations about new Relame 5G Smartphone</strong></h2>

<p>Considering the rumors and leaks, Realme could launch the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/22/realme-12-pro-5g-and-realme-12-pro-5g-hit-uaes-tdra-launch-seems-imminent/">Realme 12 Pro+ and Realme 12 Pro</a>, which are slated to launch by the end of January or February 2024. Rather than shooting arrows in the dark, it is better to wait for some additional information and updates.</p>

<p>Realme recently launched the Realme GT 5 Pro, which comes with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-3">Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC</a>, a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 1264 x 2780 pixels resolution, 450 PPi, and a 144 Hz refresh rate. The display can shine up to 4500 nits under direct sunlight. It comes with a triple-rear camera consisting of a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultrawide lens. On the front, the user gets a 32 MP camera. </p>

<p>It is available in 256, 512, 1TB, and 12/16GB RAM options. It measures 161.7 x 75.1 x 9.2 mm, and it weighs 218 grams. </p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Several Realme users took to Twitter to report that they are getting a new Realme UI update that gives them access to Jio’s True 5G network. The update changelog also shows support for the 5G network. It is a minor update that also brings September 2022 Android security patch along with other system and stability improvements. The update means that Jio users can start using 5G services on their compatible Realme smartphones. However, it’s worth noting that the telecom operator will roll out services in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai this Diwali which begins October 24th. The plans are also said to be available at an affordable cost in the country. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The Realme UI update seems to be rolling out to all 5G compatible smartphones although the brand has not officially announced it yet. In case, you haven’t received it, you can check the software update section by going to the phone’s Settings menu. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Realme VP Madhav Sheth said in a statement “We have partnered with the leading telcos in India and have curated a host of bundle offers for our users. 85 per cent of our devices already support SA and 100 per cent of our devices will have full SA support by October. We are also rolling out OTA updates for our devices to ensure that all our users can make the most of 5G”</span></p>

<p>Realme&#8217;s current portfolio of smartphones is a mixture of budget 4G phones coupled with all the 5G phones in the premium segment. However, this may change. Realme is reportedly investing 90% of its research and development in the 5G technology.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-434744 size-large" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/realme-ceo-1024x768.jpg?x44794" alt="REALME" width="1024" height="768" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/realme-ceo-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/realme-ceo-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/realme-ceo-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/realme-ceo-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/realme-ceo-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/realme-ceo-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/realme-ceo-1068x801.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/realme-ceo-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/realme-ceo.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p><em>&#8220;We are also investing millions of dollars for the beautiful aesthetics of the phones and how are we going to increase the performance on the 5G. We do not want bulky 5 devices. We have set out seven 5G R&amp;D centres including one in India&#8221;</em>, said Sheth.</p>
<p>Sheth further said that in future, Realme aims to be the 5G leader in the Indian market. Realme will launch 5G devices above ₹15,000(~$201) in the country. Although not confirmed, this could be mainly because of the rise in budget 5G-enabled chipsets in the market. Some of the trendy chipsets with which Realme may launch its budget 5G phones are the Snapdragon 480, 480 Plus, 690 5G, Dimensity 700, 900, 920 and  810.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-434708 size-large" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Realme-9i-2-e1641204114975-1024x584.jpg?x44794" alt="Realme 9i" width="1024" height="584" data-wp-editing="1" /></p>
<p>To corroborate, Realme is currently gearing for its upcoming Realme 9 series launch in the market. The upcoming <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/realme-9">Realme 9</a> and<a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/realme-9-pro"> 9 Pro</a> were spotted in certification sites with <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-810">Dimensity 810</a> and <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-920">Dimensity 920</a> respectively. As per a tipster, the 5G-ready series will launch in February 2022. The phones are expected to get their first release in European markets followed by other regions like India and China.</p>

<p>There was a mistake regarding the investment amount in the PR sent to us. realme is investing $300 million in the 5G development. The changes have been made accordingly.</p>
<p><em><strong>Original story as follows&#8230;</strong></em></p>
<p>realme has been on a mission to bring the 5G to users around the globe. It is gearing up to launch the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/04/10/realme-8-5g-series-to-launch-on-april-21-in-thailand/">5G version of the realme 8 series</a> soon and has even launched flagships like realme X7 Pro in markets of SEA, India, and other global markets. To accelerate the company&#8217;s vision to democratize 5G, it is investing more and setting up new R&amp;D centers.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-338657 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Realme-Logo-Featured.jpg?x44794" alt="Realme Logo Featured" width="4000" height="2375" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Realme-Logo-Featured.jpg 4000w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Realme-Logo-Featured-300x178.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Realme-Logo-Featured-768x456.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Realme-Logo-Featured-1024x608.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Realme-Logo-Featured-696x413.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Realme-Logo-Featured-1068x634.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Realme-Logo-Featured-707x420.jpg 707w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Realme-Logo-Featured-1920x1140.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 4000px) 100vw, 4000px" /></p>
<p>In a press release, the company&#8217;s CEO Sky Li says that the company is a “popularizer<br />
of 5G” in the global arena. <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/realme">realme</a> has always voiced towards the expansion of 5G and in the latest efforts, it ramping up the scale to a greater extent.</p>
<p>The company&#8217;s area of focus seems to be in high-performance and affordable 5G products that will cover 70% of its global portfolio in two years. As mentioned above, it is targeting younger generation users in countries like India, Southeast Asia, and Europe.</p>
<p>In the future, it is also planning to set up 10 5G pop-up stores with experience zones exclusively for young people(Gen Z users) to experience first-hand 5G technology in cloud gaming and ultra HD live broadcasts with AR.</p>
<p>realme started its 5G journey with the launch of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/01/07/realme-x50-5g-with-120hz-display-sd765g-64mp-quad-cam-16mp-dual-front-cameras-debuts-for-2499-yuan-360/">realme X50 5G</a> back in January 2020. Following this, it has launched several products at aggressive prices and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/02/24/realme-narzo-30-pro-5g-launched-as-indias-most-affordable-5g-phone-narzo-30a-tags-along/">latest Narzo 30 Pro 5G</a> is an example of it. To make the 5G rollout easier, the company is now investing $300 million <del>$30 million</del> and setting up 7 R&amp;D centers across the globe.</p>
<p>Specifically, it says that it will allocate nearly 90% of the R&amp;D resources for the development of 5G technology, products, and application scenarios. This year, i.e, 2021, it is setting up pilot testing plants in 10-15 markets.</p>
<p>Apart from the roster mentioned above, realme says it also contributes to the construction of 5G networks by working with industry partners, such as major telecoms operators, Internet providers, and application developers to explore new high-end 5G technologies.</p>
<p>Not just that, realme is also aware of the AIoT market and is taking the “smartphone and AIoT” dual approach to catalyze the process. It has <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/28/multifaceted-realme-to-launch-more-than-100-aiot-products-in-2021/">already committed to launching</a> more than 100 AIoT products in 2021.</p>
<p>realme was the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/18/realme-is-the-worlds-fastest-smartphone-brand-to-hit-50-million-shipments/">fastest-growing smartphone</a> brand to hit 50 million shipments last year and the push for 5G will only aid the company further this year. Nevertheless, we wish the company good luck in keeping up the momentum going into 2021 and beyond.</p>

However, this hasn&#8217;t stopped smartphone manufacturers from launching 5G-enabled handsets. Last year, realme <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/02/24/realme-x50-pro-5g-with-90hz-display-sd865-65w-fast-charge-launched-for-rs-37999-528-in-india/">brought</a> the realme X50 Pro as a 5G flagship to India. Cut back to 2021, it has <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/02/04/realme-x7-pro-india-launch-price-specs-features/">recently launched</a> realme X7 series in the country. Now, the company&#8217;s head Madhav Sheth says that all the devices launching above ₹20,000(~$275) in 2021 will have 5G support.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-338657" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Realme-Logo-Featured.jpg?x44794" alt="Realme Logo Featured" width="4000" height="2375" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Realme-Logo-Featured.jpg 4000w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Realme-Logo-Featured-300x178.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Realme-Logo-Featured-768x456.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Realme-Logo-Featured-1024x608.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Realme-Logo-Featured-696x413.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Realme-Logo-Featured-1068x634.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Realme-Logo-Featured-707x420.jpg 707w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Realme-Logo-Featured-1920x1140.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 4000px) 100vw, 4000px" /></p>
<p>In an <a href="https://indianexpress.com/article/technology/tech-news-technology/all-realme-phones-launched-above-rs-20000-in-2021-to-feature-5g-says-madhav-sheth-7178779/">interview</a> with Indian Express, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/realme">realme</a> India and Europe CEO Madhav Sheth says 50% of realme products launching in 2021 will support 5G connectivity. And as mentioned above, the company seems to target users with 5G-enabled devices above ₹20k segment but with democratized prices and price-performance value.</p>
<p>As for the 5G rollout, although giants like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/08/jio-launch-5g-in-india-in-2nd-half-2021-ambani/">Reliance Jio</a> and Bharti Airtel are ready with the latter <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/01/16/huawei-collaborates-with-airtel-vodafone-to-start-5g-trials-in-india/">conducting Advanced Tests</a>, the Govt. is yet to conduct the auctions for the 5G spectrum. realme recently brought the realme X7 5G as low as ₹19,999 in India. This region of 5G devices was unexplored until Moto broke the market with<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/30/moto-g-5g-with-6-7-inch-display-snapdragon-750g-5000mah-battery-and-48mp-quad-cameras-launched-in-india/"> Moto G 5G</a>.</p>
<p>Later, Xiaomi <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/01/05/xiaomi-mi-10i-5g-with-120hz-display-snapdragon-750g-flagship-108mp-hm2-camera-launched-for-rs-20999-287/">brought</a> its Mi 10i, and several other companies like Motorola and Nokia are now planning to go even deeper. As such, the race for bombarding 5G devices is catching the heat in 2021.</p>
<p>Madhav also adds that technology like 5G will help trigger faster connectivity in areas like education and healthcare and smart homes. He says that the next-gen network will play a pivotal role in building a smart lifestyle for the people. Speaking of which, the company has said that it will <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/28/multifaceted-realme-to-launch-more-than-100-aiot-products-in-2021/">launch over 100 Smart AIoT</a> products this year.</p>
<p>Some of the contenders include <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/01/25/realme-laptops-may-hit-the-market-as-early-as-the-middle-of-the-year/">realme Laptops</a>, the successor of realme Buds Q, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/01/22/realme-buds-q2-appears-on-fcc-and-indias-bis-certification-websites-launch-imminent/">realme Buds Q2</a>, Smart Trimmers, Motion-Activated lights, and more.</p>

<p>Realme teaser gives us a glimpse of the date, likely to be January 5. Another reason why we think it&#8217;s January 5 is because of the hint given by the Realme CMO Xu Qi Chase a few days back. Back then, his Weibo post had hinted that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/12/17/realme-x50-5g-teaser-suggest-january-5-launch-date/">Realme X50 launch is 20 days away</a> and the date came to, unsurprisingly, January 5. However, it&#8217;s also possible that the date is January 15, which comes on a Tuesday, rather than a Sunday (Jan 5). It&#8217;s common for Chinese companies to announce products on Tuesdays, so January 15 is also a possibility.</p>

It has been a success all the way since then both on the home front and on foreign turf. However, Realme&#8217;s CEO/Founder has announced a major policy change that may likely change the landscape of the Chinese smartphone market from next year. The CEO disclosed via a Weibo post that from 2020, the company will only release 5G mobile phones in the domestic market. He did specify that the brand will pull the plugs off 4G phones from next year. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/realme-china-3.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-292796" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/realme-china-3.png?x44794" alt="Realme 5G plans" width="589" height="446" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/realme-china-3.png 589w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/realme-china-3-300x227.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/realme-china-3-80x60.png 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/realme-china-3-555x420.png 555w" sizes="(max-width: 589px) 100vw, 589px" /></a></p>

<p>This news is expected to send shock waves down the spines of all major OEMs in China especially those that were not planning to adopt an aggressive approach to 5G release next year. The CEO didn&#8217;t only reveal Realme will focus on the flagship segment only but is also planning to bring 5G to mid-range and budget (thousand yuan machine) phones next year.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/realme-china.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-292790" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/realme-china.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="600" height="400" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/realme-china.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/realme-china-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>The plan, according to the CEO, is to help make 5G phones more popular and accessible to young persons. The CEO is perhaps promoting the company&#8217;s first 5G phones the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/11/28/realme-x50-5g-and-x50-lite-youth-edition-5g-specifications-leaked/">Realme X50 and X50 Youth Edition</a> that is expected to be launched soon in China.</p>
