In the second half of 2023, Realme unveiled the Realme GT 5 and the Realme GT 5 Pro flagship phones in the Chinese market. The brand is now said to be working on the Realme GT Neo 6 and the Realme 12 series of smartphones for the Chinese market. These devices are expected to launch by early 2024. As per a new Weibo post by tipster Digital Chat Station, the GT Neo 6 sub-flagship phone will arrive with an impressive price tag.

The above screenshot reveals tipster Digital Chat Station discussing Realme phones intended for the Chinese market. According to the leaker, the upcoming numbered series of smartphones from the company will incorporate cameras such as the Sony IMX709 and OmniVision OV64B. Specifically, he appears to be referring to the Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+, anticipated to feature a 32-megapixel telephoto camera (2x optical zoom) and a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera (3x optical zoom), respectively. Both phones are expected to feature the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset.

The leaker has previously claimed that the upcoming Realme GT Neo 6 will come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. According to DCS, it will debut early next year, probably after the Chinese New Year in the second half of February 2024. It appears that the GT Neo 6 may arrive as the most affordable phone among the recently announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phones in China.

For those who don’t know, the upcoming iQOO Neo 9 and OnePlus Ace 3 are expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The same chip powers the Honor 90 GT and the Redmi K70, which start at 2,499 Yuan (~$350) and 2,599 Yuan (~$364), respectively. There is a possibility that the device could be priced at around 2,000 Yuan (~$280).
