The first realme store opened in August 2020. Madhav Sheth, the Former CEO of the brand, announced in 2021 that another 300 exclusive stores are planned to be opened in the future.

This leap was made possible essentially by the introduction of its GT 2 smartphone series, which debuted in March 2022 and delivered more than users expected in every way: due to the introduction of the model, the manufacturer has moved to several major European cities with so-called “Pop-Up Stores”. During March, fans of the brand could take part in exclusive events in Cologne, Paris, and Madrid, among others. Now the brand is finally all set to introduce its first permanent store on the continent.

Realme continued to deliver one of the best value products among varied ranges, from entry-level to flagship smartphones; and the commitment paid off in Europe 2022 Q1 where Realme achieved 177% annual growth.

The company could see more robust growth with the launch of the Realme 9 series and the upcoming Realme GT NEO 3 series in Europe.

The smartphone appeared with a new chipset and camera setup, confirming that it is not the same as the previously launched Indian variant.

As first reported by GSMArena, the Realme 9 5G has appeared on the company’s Poland website. It seems that Realme has accidentally posted the smartphone on the website. From the specifications, it is evident that the smartphone is different from its Indian variant. The handset is carrying a Snapdragon 695 5G processor and a 50MP main camera.

Realme 9 5G (European version) Specifications.

As per the specifications listed on the website, the new Realme 9 5G features a 6.6” LCD display with 1080p resolution. The panel carries support for 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. It also has a fingerprint scanner on the side. The handset is powered by a Snapdragon 695 5G processor, unlike the Indian variant that came out with Dimensity 810 chipset. The Snapdragon 695 brings a 2x Kryo Gold 2.2 GHz + 6x Kryo Silver 1.8 GHz CPU.

As far as the optics are concerned, the Realme 9 5G houses a 50MP main camera, 2MP B&W camera, and a 2MP depth camera on the back, while the front features a 16MP f/2.1 snapper for selfies and video calls.

The Chinese brand ranked top throughout 2021 in terms of growth despite making an entrance in the continent only in 2019. Its smartphone shipments grew by 500% and 548% in Q4 2021 and full-year 2021, respectively.

However, there were subtle differences between regions — in Central and Eastern Europe, realme grew by 643% year-on-year, while in Western Europe, it grew by 416% year-on-year in 2021.

Via Strategy Analytics

The company also managed to squeeze into the top 5 brands for the first time last year and is now only topped by Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, and OPPO (in terms of market share). In Western Europe, realme rose from 13th place in Q4 2020 to 5th place in Q4 2021. And similarly, in Central and Eastern Europe, the company rose from 13th place in Q4 2020 to 4th place in Q4 2021.

Strategy Analytics believes that the right marketing strategy, diverse product portfolio, competitive product specifications, and aggressive pricing together were the driving force behind realme achieving such rapid growth.

The BBK Electronics subsidiary had only this month officially announced its penetration into the top 5 ranking in Western Europe, citing Counterpoint Research figures.

The picture shows the charger will come in white with the flat plug used by America and China. It supports 100 – 240V which means it should work in practically all countries. While the charger supports a maximum power output of 125W, it does support other power ratings too. Below are the supported power ratings:

20V 6.25A = 125W

5V 3A = 15W

9V 3A = 27W

12V 3A = 36W

15V 3A = 45W

20V 3.25 = 65W

3.3V – 21V 5.95A = 125W max

Realme already disclosed that its fast charging technology supports the charging of high-power devices such as notebooks. So if you are on the lookout for the purchase of a new charger for your notebook, you may want to wait for Realme to announce its new charger. We expect it to be pretty affordable when it launches.

Realme should soon announce a date for its launch event in Europe which is expected to be for several products including the Realme 7 series.

The Old Continent even got the Realme X2 Pro before India, which is one of its largest markets. Now, the manufacturer has announced the more affordable Realme 5 just in time for the holidays.

The Realme 5 lands in Europe with a price tag of €169 and that gets you the 4GB RAM+128GB version. That isn’t too bad considering the same version sells for INR 10,999 (~€139) in India. The phone will be available in Crystal Blue and Crystal Purple.

The Realme 5 has a 6.5–inch Mini-drop FullScreen display with an HD+ resolution. It is powered by the Snapdragon 665 processor and packs a 5000mAh battery.

There are four cameras on the back of the phone – a 12MP f/1.8 main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide angle camera, a 2MP portrait camera, and a 2MP 4cm macro camera. There is a 13MP sensor in front for selfies.

The Realme 5 has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, Dual-SIM support, and a dedicated MicroSD card slot. It runs Android Pie with ColorOS on top. For connectivity, you get a MicroUSB port, an audio jack, and Bluetooth 5.0.

Realme says the phone will be on sale at 22:00 CET on November 27 for €159. So you may want to wait till then to get it for less. We don’t know if the other Realme phones sold in Europe will be discounted but there is no harm in checking.

The Realme Europe page says they currently only ship to Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, and the United Kingdom only.
