It’s a more accessible alternative that doesn’t really sacrifice flagship-level performance, even if the overall package is slightly toned down to keep costs in check.

OnePlus 15R

The OnePlus 15R sticks closely to what OnePlus has been doing for years. It delivers a fast, polished experience with reliable performance and battery life.

As per the leak, these variants are priced at 2,599 Yuan ($375), 3,099 Yuan ($457), 3,399 Yuan ($490), and 3,899 Yuan ($560), respectively. While color options are not mentioned in the leak, the phone is expected to be available in Origin White, Mecha Grey, and Cyber Purple shades.

The Realme Neo 8 will come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. The TENAA certification of the device reveals support for up to 24GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. It will house an 8,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging.

The Realme Neo 8’s rear camera setup will include a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The back panel will also feature Halo Awakening RGB lighting, similar to the older Realme GT Neo 5.

Realme is getting ready to launch the Neo 8 later this month. However, the company today held a special event in China to talk about one of its biggest highlights: the display. 

The Realme Neo 8 is the first phone in the world to use a 165Hz Samsung “Sky Display.” The panel is built using Samsung’s flagship M14 luminescent material, which Realme says improves luminous efficiency by 26 percent compared to previous generations. 

The panel can reach 1,000 nits in manual peak brightness and is rated 1800 nits for global peak brightness. Moreover, the typical brightness reaches 3,800 nits, while local peak brightness can climb as high as 6,500 nits. This wide range is designed to keep the screen readable outdoors while still delivering strong HDR performance indoors.

Realme also claims the Neo 8 exceeds typical flagship standards across four core display metrics, including color gamut at normal brightness, color performance at 25 percent APL, brightness uniformity, and gamma accuracy. 

Efficiency and gaming

The screen itself is a 6.78-inch flat Samsung panel with a 1.5K resolution. It’s an LTPO panel, which means the screen refresh rate can scale anywhere from 1Hz up to 165Hz depending on what’s happening on screen.

And thanks to the efficiency of the M14 material, Realme says this 165Hz panel actually consumes 16 percent less power than many 144Hz displays on the market. The panel lifespan has also improved by 50% and the company claims it has also passed TUV Rheinland’s 1500-hour long-life validation tests. 

As for the gaming, Realme says the Neo 8 will support more than 30 mobile games running at 165fps. The title includes Call of Duty Mobile, League of Legends Mobile, and Game for Peace.

Rounding things out, the phone also includes an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, crystal armor glass, and large rounded corners.

Now, a Weibo post released by Realme Vice President and President for Global Marketing, Xu Chase, has revealed that the company will commercially release a 10,000mAh battery phone next year.

Realme’s 10,000 mAh battery phone launch is a few months away

According to Realme’s Vice President Chase Xu the company is on track to bring a 10,000mAh phone to the market in early 2026. However, he did not reveal anything else about the device.

The new development follows Realme’s recent showcase of a 15,000mAh concept phone during its annual fan festival in China. That prototype featured a 100 percent silicon anode battery with a record energy density of 1200Wh/L, all packed into a design with less than 9mm thickness.

The 10,000mAh model is reportedly more refined, with thickness expected to stay under 8.5mm and a weight close to 210 grams. At present, there is no clarity about the phone’s final moniker.

It remains to be seen whether Realme’s 10,000mAh battery phone launches as the Realme Neo 8 Pro or under a different name. This device is expected to rival the Honor Power 2, which is said to feature a 10,000mAh battery, a 6.79-inch display, and a Dimensity 8500 SoC.

OnePlus is expected to announce the OnePlus Ace 6 alongside the OnePlus 15 in October this year. Realme, on the other hand, is preparing the GT 8 and GT 8 Pro for an October launch in China, while the Realme Neo 8 may arrive by December 2025 or early 2026. A new leak from tipster Smart Pikachu has now hinted at the possible battery sizes of the Ace 6 and Neo 8.

Rumors suggest that upcoming flagship smartphones will feature batteries ranging between 6,000mAh and 7,500mAh. However, sub-flagship and mid-range models are reportedly being designed with capacities of 8,000mAh, or even higher. According to Smart Pikachu, OnePlus and Realme are both working on devices with batteries around 8,000mAh, pointing to the OnePlus Ace 6 and Realme Neo 8 as likely candidates.

OnePlus Ace 6

The leak suggests that the OnePlus’ phone has a battery that is close to 8,000mAh capacity. As can be seen in a related leak by tipster Digital Chat Station, which he shared in July, OnePlus is working on a phone with a 7,800mAh battery. Recent leaks about this device that have surfaced suggest this could be the upcoming OnePlus Ace 6.

As far as other specs are concerned, the OnePlus Ace 6 is expected to feature a 6.83-inch flat OLED 1.5K 165Hz screen integrated with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a metal middle frame, and ColorOS 16-based Android 16, and an IP68-rated chassis. A slightly modified version of this device may be released globally as the OnePlus 15R.

Realme Neo 8

A recent DCS leak revealed that the Realme Neo 8 with a battery of around 8,000mAh is in the works. While it is expected to feature an LTPS 1.5K screen integrated with an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor, it is yet to be decided whether it will feature the upcoming Dimensity 9500e or Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. The new leak by Smart Pikachu suggests that Neo 8’s battery size may exceed the 8,000mAh mark.

In December 2024, Realme announced the Realme Neo 7 equipped with the Dimensity 9300 Plus chipset and a 7,000mAh battery. Therefore, it is likely that its successor, the Realme Neo 8, may debut in December this year. Today, well-known tipster Digital Chat Station published a Weibo post to share what seems to be the leaked specifications of the Realme Neo 8.

Realme Neo 8 specifications (rumored)

As per the leak, the Realme Neo 8 will feature an LTPS OLED panel that supports a 1.5K resolution and an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor. To recall, the predecessor model’s screen supported LTPO technology but was equipped with an optical-type fingerprint sensor.

Moving on to the chipset of the phone, the leak suggests that the device is currently being tested with upcoming chipsets such as the Dimensity 9500e and Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. It is only after successful testing that the final chipset will be decided.

Rumors suggest that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, which has the SM8845 model number, will debut alongside the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip in September this year. Speculations are rife that the Redmi K90 will also feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. As far as the Dimensity 9500e is concerned, it is said to be an enhanced version of the Dimensity 9400 Plus.

Coming back to the Realme Neo 8, the leak also gives an idea about its battery capacity. It appears that the device will pack a huge battery of around 8,000mAh capacity.

According to other reports, Realme is also working on the Realme Neo 8 SE. This phone is said to be equipped with the upcoming Dimensity 8500 SoC. In all likelihood, it may debut in January 2026.
