Vivo T3x vs Realme P1: Design and colours

Vivo T3x:

Vivo really hit the nail on the head with this smartphone in terms of its design. Not only is this device simple to look at, but it also comes with a very impressive design. On the rear sits a circular camera cutout that is positioned towards the top right-hand side of the rear panel. This is unlike the design approach on the Realme P1 that centralizes its rear camera cutout. The sides of this device come with a flattened-out glossy finish, and it houses the power button and volume rocker eyes on its right side. At the base is a charging port, 3.5mm headphone jack, a microphone, and speakers. The SIM eject tool is on the left side of the frame, and its available color options are Crimson Bliss and Celestial Green.

Realme P1:

Without any doubt, this device comes with an impressive design that makes it stand out from the crowd. Coming with flat edges, and a circular camera cutout. With impressive colour options, the Realme P1 aims to win buyers’ hearts. Just like with the Vivo T3x, this device places the power button and volume rocker keys on the right side frame. On its base sit the USB-C port, SIM tray, microphone, and speakers, the 3.5mm headphone jack sits at the top of this device. The available colors on this device are Phoenix Red, and Peacock Green, and these are very similar to those on the Vivo T3x.

Major differences:

• Positioning of the camera cutout.
• The 3.5mm headphone jack is placed at the bottom of the Vivo T3x, but at the top of the Realme P1.

Vivo T3x vs Realme P1: Display

Vivo T3x and Realme P1:

The Vivo T3x comes with a larger 6.72-inch IPS LCD screen display. The Realme P1 comes with a smaller 6.67-inch AMOLED screen display panel. In this comparison, Realme boasts having the brighter screen display and better screen-to-body ratio.

Major differences:

• Slightly better screen to body ratio on the Realme P1.
• The Realme P1 comes with an AMOLED screen display.

Vivo T3x vs Realme P1: Cameras

Vivo T3x and Realme P1:

The rear cameras on these devices are the same, as both come with a dual rear camera setup. The main camera on both of these devices is a 50MP sensor, and the secondary lens is a 2MP sensor. Things start to change in favour of the Realme P1 when we turn our attention to the front facing cameras. Realme packs a 16MP lens in the P1, while Vivo stickers with an 8MP sensor on the T3x. However, Vivo tries to outperform the competition by offering 4K video recording on the rear cameras of the T3x.

Vivo T3x vs Realme P1: Performance

Vivo T3x and Realme P1:

In every smartphone comparison, the performance of the competing devices often determines the better device. Between the Vivo T3x and the Realme P1, the latter comes with a slightly more powerful processor. However, the Vivo T3x gives buyers more freedom when choosing storage options that meet their budget as this device comes with 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB RAM options. Those going for the Realme P1 will have to settle for either a 6GB or 8GB RAM variant.

• A more powerful processor on the Realme P1.
• 4GB RAM offering on the Vivo T3x.

Vivo T3x vs Realme P1: Software

Vivo T3x and Realme P1:

The Vivo T3x and the Realme P1 both run on Android 14 out of the box. The Vivo T3x comes with Vivo’s FunTouch 14 software, bringing a few years of OS upgrade. As for the Realme P1, it comes with Realme UI 5.0 out of the box, and it also brings a few years of OS update.

Vivo T3x vs Realme P1: Battery life and charging

Vivo T3x and Realme P1:

Here the Vivo T3x takes the crown as it comes with a massive, 6000mAh battery and 44W fast charging. Realme equips the P1 with a 5000mAh battery capacity and 45W fast charging capability.

Vivo T3x vs Realme P1: Final Verdict

These devices are both impressive and affordable entries into the Android smartphone market. However, when shopping for a new device and trying to pick between these two entries, the Realme P1 is the better pick. From its performance to design and even its camera system, the Realme P1 has found a way to edge slightly above the Vivo T3x. While the Vivo T3x is also a good device, it finds itself wanting in some areas that the Realme P1 shines in.

Available colours in this series are Phoenix Red and Peacock Green, both of which feature a brushed finish that’s impressive to look at.

Poco X6 Neo:

Poco keeps things simple with the design on this device as it features a larger rectangular camera cutout. This cutout not only houses the cameras but also the Poco logo and the flash. The sides of the device are flat and so is its screen, which Poco advertises as being “bezel-less”. The buttons sit on the right side, the USB-C port, speakers and microphone sit at the base, while the 3.5mm headphone jack sits at the top of this device’s frame. Available colours here are Astral Black, Horizon Blue, and Martian Orange.

Realme P1:

Realme launched this device with a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen that supports 120Hz refresh rate. The screen also offers up to 1200 nits peak brightness, making it the brighter option of these two devices. In terms of screen to body ratio, this device comes with an 87.3% screen-to-body ratio, which is quite impressive.

Poco X6 Neo:

This device comes with a similar screen size with the Realme P1 measuring at 6.67-inch. The panel on this device is an AMOLED panel, and it supports 120Hz refresh rate, which ensures that users get a snappy response on all actions taken on the device’s screen. With a peak brightness of 1000 nits, this device slacks behind the Realme P1, however it outshines it by offering a screen-to-body ratio of 88.9%.

Realme P1 vs Poco X6 Neo: Cameras

Realme P1:

When it comes to cameras, the Realme P1 comes with a dual camera setup housing a 50MP main camera and a 2MP front facing camera. Up front, we find a 16MP selfie camera that sits in the punch hole on this device’s screen. Both the front and rear facing cameras on this device don’t support 4K video recording.

Poco X6 Neo:

Also featuring a dual rear camera setup, this device gives off a similar experience like the competitor in the article. However, in place of a 50MP main camera sensor, this device from Poco features a 108MP main camera sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. Up front is a 16MP selfie camera like we see on the competition from Realme in this article.

Realme P1:

Powering this device is the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor. Joining this processor is up to 8GB RAM and 256GB worth of storage capacity.

Under the hood of this device is the MediaTek 6080 processor. Supporting this processor is up to 12GB worth of RAM as an option. For storage, buyers of this device get to choose between either 128GB and 256GB storage capacity.

Realme P1 5G: 8GB + 128GB model Pricing & Availability

The Chinese brand has unveiled the 8GB + 128GB option of the Realme P1 5G in India, which can be purchased via Flipkart and Realme’s official eStore. It is listed for a 17,499 INR price tag, although, the company is even offering a flat 500 INR discount on this device. Buyers can also avail a 1,000 INR discount using a coupon code via Realme eStore.

To recall, Realme first announced the P1 in two storage options, namely 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB. So now, this new variant sits between the two and is a more viable offering for those who don’t require a higher storage capacity. Although, the higher RAM capacity could ensure a smoother gaming experience overall. Apart from the storage, all other aspects of the device are identical to the earlier versions. The device retains the Phoenix design on the rear.

Meanwhile, the front sports a tall 6.67-inch AMOLED display that offers FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC. The device has a starting price tag of 15,999 INR for its 6GB + 128GB option, while the 8GB + 256GB variant costs 18,999 INR. Realme P1 5G and the Realme P1 Pro 5G have gone official in India today. These are Realme’s first P-series smartphones designed to offer performance-oriented devices within the mid-range category in the country. The Realme P1 5G, which carries a sub-Rs 15,000 price tag, has several key selling points, such as a 120Hz AMOLED display, a big battery with 45W fast charging, a 50-megapixel dual camera system, the latest version of Android 14, ample storage of up to 256 GB, dual speakers, and a few more. Here’s a look at my first impressions of the Realme P1 5G.

Realme P1 5G design

The Realme P1 5G’s retail box includes the following items:  a handset, a 45W charger, a USB-A to USB-C data cable, a SIM ejector PIN, a Safety Guide, a Quick Guide, and a protective case. The phone comes in two shades, Peacock Green and Phoenix Red. As you can see, I received the green edition of the device for review.

Starting from the top, the Realme P1 5G features a 3.5mm audio jack, a speaker hole, and a microphone. The phone’s top bezel houses the earpiece, which also functions as a speaker. On the bottom edge, there is a SIM slot, a microphone, a USB-C port, and a speaker. Its right edge has a volume rocker and a power key, whereas its left edge is barren.

The AMOLED display on the front comes integrated with a fingerprint scanner. The side bezels are thin, but the bottom bezel is a bit thick, as can be seen in the above images. It measures 7.97mm in thickness and weighs only 188 grams. In addition, the device offers IP54-rated dust and water resistance.

I haven’t seen the red variant yet, but what I can conclude about the green variant with a gradient feathery design on the back is that it is truly attractive for a phone priced under Rs 15,000. Also, it does not leave any fingerprint marks.

Realme P1 5G specifications and features

The 6.67-inch AMOLED display of the Realme P1 5G is the immediate star of the show. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, a 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, and a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits. It is the first phone in its segment to support rainwater smart touch, making the screen usable with wet fingers. The dual speakers produce equally balanced output and are quite loud and clear. In addition, the device comes with support for Hi-Res Audio.

Under the hood, the Realme P1 5G features the Dimensity 7050 chip. Realme has previously used the same chip to power the Realme Narzo 70 Pro 5G, Realme 12+ 5G, Realme 11 Pro series, and Narzo 60 Pro. It is good to see that the brand is offering UFS 3.1 on a mid-range device. The phone ships with up to 8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256 GB of built-in storage. In addition, the device offers up to 8 GB of virtual RAM.

The Realme P1 5G seems to be the only phone in its price segment to feature a big 6K VC cooling unit comprising a 4356.52mm2 stainless-steel vapor chamber and a 10231mm2 graphite sheet for heat dissipation. I have spent less time gaming on the device. From my usage, I didn’t encounter any abnormal heating and it seems to be good enough for casual gaming.

The Realme P1 5G arrives with the Realme UI 5-based Android 14. As expected, the brand is offering two years of Android OS upgrades and three years of security updates. It appears Realme aims to offer a 45W charger on its mid-range phones with 5,000mAh battery. The Realme 12x 5G, which debuted recently, came with a 5,000mAh battery and a 45W SuperVOOC charger. The same combination is available on the Realme P1 5G. According to the brand, the phone can go from 0 percent to 50 percent in just 28 minutes.

On the front, the Realme P1 5G has a 16-megapixel camera, and it has a 50-megapixel (main) + 2-megapixel (mono) dual-camera system on the back. The device offers a plethora of photography modes, such as Night Mode, Street Mode, Photograph Mode, Portrait Mode, Professional Mode, Panorama Mode, Long Exposure Photo, Text Scanner, Super Group Portrait, and Tilt Shift. Additionally, it includes various video recording modes, such as Dual-View Video, Film Mode, Tilt Shift, Slow Motion, Timelapse, and Video Mode.

Realme P1 5G variants, price in India

Realme P1 5G has arrived in India in two options, such as:

• 8GB RAM + 256GB storage: Rs 15,999 (~$190)
• 8GB RAM + 256GB storage: Rs 18,999 (~$230)
• Colors: Peacock Green and Phoenix Red
• Early bird sale: 6pm to 8pm today (April 15) via Flipkart and Realme India’s website
• Offer: Those who partake in the early bird sale can benefit from up to Rs 2,000 off via ICICI, HDFC, and SBI cards.

Final Thoughts:

Apart from decent performance, the Realme P1 5G offers a lot more, such as a 120Hz AMOLED display with rainwater smart touch support, an in-screen fingerprint scanner, a decent heat dissipation unit, UFS 3.1 storage, 45W fast charging support, and the latest Android version inside a Rs 15,000-priced phone. Now, I have my reservations about cameras on phones of this budget, so I’ll be putting those to the test in the coming weeks. But initially, the Realme P1 5G seems well-positioned to take a spot amongst the best mid-range phones you can currently get.

Realme has officially unveiled its highly anticipated P1 series of smartphones in India. The lineup consists of the Realme P1 and the Realme P1 Pro that offer top notch specs and features despite having a budget price tag. So here’s everything you need to know about these devices.

Realme P1 & P1 Pro: Design & Display

The brand has announced the new devices with an attractive design. These models have an ultra slim body that is paired with a lightweight design. The Realme P1 measures just 7.91mm in thickness and weighs 188 grams, while the Realme P1 Pro weighs 184 grams and measures 8.35mm in thickness. The latest smartphones feature a design inspired by “Bird Culture”, showcasing a lustrous design that gleams in the sunlight. It comes with the Micro-Crystal Sparrow Feature Texture and a large circular 3D LDI texture design on both phones.

For protection, the base model comes with an IP54 rating against water and dust resistance, while the Pro variant features a higher IP65 resistance rating. On the front, the Realme P1 sports a 6.67-inch flat AMOLED display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate, Full HD+ resolution, 100 percent P3 color gamut, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 2000 nits of peak brightness. Meanwhile, the Realme P1 Pro sports a taller 6.7-inch curved AMOLED panel that offers a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 950 nits of maximum brightness, and Full HD+ resolution. The lineup supports the brand’s Rainwater Smart Touch feature as well.

Under the hood, the base model is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC which is paired up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. On the other hand, the Pro variant comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset that is also paired with the same storage configuration. Both models are powered by a 5,000mAh battery pack, which supports 45W wired fast charging. A vapor chamber heat dissipation system on the Realme P1 and a 3D VC cooling system on the Realme P1 Pro cools the hardware.

The devices run on the Android 14 OS based Realme UI 5.0 custom skin out of the box. Other notable features include Wi-Fi 6, 5G, USB-C port, Bluetooth 5.2, a 3.5mm headphone jack (only on the Realme P1), an in-display fingerprint scanner, Hi-Res dual speakers, and virtual RAM expansion of up to 8GB.

The Realme P1 features a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 camera and a 2-megapixel B&W sensor on the rear, while the front houses a 16-megapixel selfie shooter. Realme’s P1 Pro has a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 camera that supports OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) along with an 8-megapixel ultra wide angle lens. For selfies and video calls, it offers a 16-megapixel selfie shooter.

Realme has announced the P1 series for color options that include Peacock Green and Phoenix Red for the base version and Phoenix Red and Parrot Blue for the Pro model. So here is the pricing:

Early bird sales of the Realme P1 kicks off today (15th April 2024) between 6 PM and 8 PM IST. Buyers can get an instant 1,000 INR discount on the 6GB variant, while the 8GB version gets a 2,000 INR discount via the brand’s official website and Flipkart. Realme is gearing up to launch the new Realme P1 series smartphones on April 15 in India. The brand has already revealed its design and some key features. Realme P1 5G cooling system teased and early bird benefit revealed

The Realme P1 5G is confirmed to feature a 4356.62mm vapour chamber and a 7-layer cooling system for heat dissipation. Meanwhile, the P1 Pro 5G will be equipped with a 3D vapour chamber for keeping the phone cool. 

The early bird sale of the Realme P1 5G will commence on April 15 from 6 pm to 8 pm on the brand’s official website and Flipkart. Buyers can avail of coupons worth up to INR 2,000 on different variants of Realme P1 5G on both platforms. 

Realme has already revealed that the P1 Pro 5G will sport a curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate under the Rs 20,000 segment. It will have a 2,000-nit peak brightness, Pro-XDR, and a narrow chin. The phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. The device appeared on Geekbench with 8GB RAM and scores of 929 and 2,680 points in single-core and multi-core test results.

Meanwhile, the Realme P1 5G is teased to have a flat display and be equipped with Dimensity 7050 SoC. The P1 5G duo are confirmed to support 45W fast charging and Rainwater touch technology. Recently, Flipkart accidentally listed the Realme P1 5G with a price tag of Rs 14,999 for the base 4GB + 128GB model.

To recall, the Realme P1 lineup will be unveiled in India on 15th April 2024. On the other hand, the higher end P1 Pro is expected to launch for under 20,000 INR.

Realme P1 Series

Realme will debut a new lineup of performance-oriented phones called the Realme P series on April 15 (Monday) in India. The inaugural phones are officially called Realme P1 and Realme P1 Pro.

The P1 will come with a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chip, an IP54 rating, and a 120Hz AMOLED display. Whereas the P1 Pro will sport a 120Hz curved AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC, an IP65 rating, and a 5,000mAh battery. 

The duo will support 45W wired charging. The P1 and P1 Pro are said to cost below ₹15,000 and ₹20,000, respectively.

Motorola Moto G64

Motorola has confirmed to launch the Moto G64 in India on April 16 (Tuesday). Ahead of the announcement, the brand has already revealed almost everything about the handset.

The product will go official as the world’s first smartphone featuring a MediaTek Dimensity 7025 chip It will be built around a 6.5-inch centered punch-hole display with an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

The device will arrive with a 50MP main camera, dual stereo speakers, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and an IP52 rating. It will boot Android 14 and will receive Android 15 as well as 3 years of security updates.

Vivo T3x

The Vivo T3x is scheduled to go official in India on April 17 (Wednesday). It will succeed the Vivo T2x from last year and will act as a variant of Vivo T3.

The handset will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chip. It will be available in green and crimson colors.

The product is expected to come with a 6.72-inch FHD+ 120Hz display (LCD), a 6,000mAh battery, and 44W wired charging support.
