Last month, Realme initiated the open beta testing of the Realme UI 3.0 build for the Realme X3 and Realme X3 SuperZoom. Now, the company is rolling out the stable Android 12 update for regular users.

The latest Android 12 update for the Realme X3 and Realme X3 SuperZoom is now available, with firmware versions RMX2081 11 F.05 and RMX2085 11 F.05, respectively. This is the handsets’ final major update. X3 users need to make sure that their device is on firmware version RMX2081NV1B_11.C.15 / RMX2081NV1B_11.C.14 / RMX2081NV1B_11.C.13 before proceeding with the update.

Similarly, X3 SuperZoom users need to have their devices on firmware version RMX2085_11.C.15 / RMX2085_11.C.14 / RMX2085_11.C.13 before updating to Realme UI 3.0.

Back in June 2020, Realme launched the Realme X3 smartphone equipped with Android 10-based Realme UI. In May of last year, the smartphone got its Android 11 update, and now, it is due for an Android 12 update.

The brand has officially begun the Realme UI 3.0 open beta testing process for the Realme X3 smartphone. To participate in the open beta testing, users can navigate to Settings > Software Update and tap on the settings icon in the top right corner > Trial Version > Submit your details > Apply Now. Make sure that your device is on version RMX2081_11.C.13 / RMX2081_11.C.14 before applying for the open beta.

Realme has listed some must read points before opting for the update which is mentioned below.

• Please make sure your phone is not rooted.
• To prevent data loss, please backup your personal data before proceeding.
• Some third-party application versions might not be compatible with Android 12 yet, after updating these applications might not be available or crashing down on your device. Therefore, it is recommended to update all your applications to the latest version available in the Play Store before your update.
• The Open Beta versions may have an unpredictable impact on your phone and effect on daily use.
• Please ensure that the available phone storage is more than 5GB. Otherwise, there will be a risk of update failure (To check the phone storage head to Settings > Additional Settings > Storage).

The common issues faced with the current build are longer boot time after the update and slight hanging and faster power consumption after the first boot.

Chinese smartphone brand realme started recruiting realme UI 2.0 (Android 11) beta testers for the realme X3 and the realme X3 SuperZoom at the end of January. Now, four months later, these smartphones have finally started receiving stable Android 11 update.

The Android 11 update for realme smartphones comes as realme UI 2.0, which is based on OPPO ColorOS 11. Despite releasing Android 11 builds for eligible devices since late September 2020, realme has managed to deliver a stable update only for a select few handsets.

The realme X3 and the realme X3 SuperZoom are the latest phones to join the elite list of realme devices running Android 11 (realme UI 2.0).

According to the official announcement post on realme Community, the realme X3 / X3 SuperZoom Android 11-based realme UI 2.0 update arrives with build number RMX2081PU_11.C.06. Users need to be on build number RMX2081PU_11.A.53 to receive this update.

The update is being rolled out in batches, and therefore, it may take some time to reach every unit. Anyway, users can head over to Settings > Software Update to check whether their phone has received the OTA update.

Users not satisfied with the realme UI 2.0 update can roll back to Android 10-based realme UI. However, this process will wipe the handset’s internal storage.

Chinese smartphone maker realme unveiled realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 in late September 2020. Just like the previous iteration, the latest version of the brand’s mobile operating system is based on OPPO ColorOS, version 11 to be exact. So far, the company has only released stable update for a single device – realme X50 Pro. However, multiple phones have received beta builds. Now, six more handsets have been added to the beta program.

Every OEM has a different name for their beta program. Hence, realme calls its initiative ‘Early Access’. When the brand officially announced realme UI 2.0 in the second half of last year, it also revealed an update timeline for all the eligible smartphones.

The company has been recruiting beta teasers for its devices, as per the schedule. Therefore, following the timeline, it has now opened beta registrations for the below-listed phones as part of the January 2021 quota.

• realme X2
• realme 6
• realme C12
• realme C15

Interested users of the above-mentioned handsets can head over to Settings > Software Update > Gear Icon > Trial Version > Apply Now and submit details to enroll in the initiative. If they get selected, they will be receiving the beta update via OTA.

That said, for some reason, any user wants to downgrade to the stable channel, they can do it by downloading and installing the appropriate rollback file. However, it is worth noting that this process will format their smartphone’s internal storage and they won’t be able to rejoin the Early Access program.

With all that being said, we do not know when realme will begin to seed stable builds for these phones. Because even the previous batch is yet to receive the stable update.

Last month, Realme unveiled the Realme X3 SuperZoom smartphone in European markets. The company did not announce the Realme X3 handset. Today, the Chinese firm held a dedicated launch event in India to unveil the Realme X3 and Realme X3 SuperZoom smartphones. As the name goes, the Realme X3 SuperZoom comes with a periscope telephoto lens that brings support for up to 60x hybrid zoom. Both phones come with 120Hz refresh supporting displays, dual front-facing cameras, Snapdragon 855+ mobile platforms, and topnotch rear cameras. The Realme X3 series has arrived with a starting price of Rs. 24,999 (~$330).

Realme X3 and Realme X3 SuperZoom specifications

The Realme X3 and Realme X3 SuperZoom come with 3D curved glass rear with a premium finish. Both phones are equipped with a 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen with a pill-shaped cutout for housing two front-facing cameras. The Full HD+ display supports a 20:9 aspect ratio and up to 120Hz refresh rate. Both phones offer 90.5 percent screen space, claims the company. The screens of the Realme X3 series is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

The Realme X3 and X3 SuperZoom is powered by Snapdragon 855+ processor with LPDDR4x RAM. The UFS 3.0 storage on both devices come with Turbo Write and HPB improves overall performance and reduces power consumption. They are equipped with 4,200mAh batteries that support 30W fast charging. Its takes only 55 minutes to fully charge the X3 and X3 SuperZoom, claims the company. They are preinstalled with Realme UI based Android 10 OS.

The Realme X3 SuperZoom has the Samsung GW1 64-megapixel primary lens, an OIS assisted 8-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with support for 5x optical zoom and 60x hybrid zoom, a 119-degree ultrawide shooter and a 2-megapixel macro lens with 4cm focal length. The Realme X3 SuperZoom features Nightscape 4.0 that brings support for Starry Mode for capturing shots of stars in the night sky. The Starry Mode not only relies on hardware, but also on high sensitivity sensors and extreme multi-frame algorithm. The autofocus feature allows users to focus on a particular element even in the farther starry sky by taking 10 long exposure shots and processing it with multi-frame synthesis. The front and rear cameras of the X3SuperZoom support photography features such as UIX Max Stabilization, ultra-wide angle video shooting, real-time bokeh mode, up to 4K video shooting, and slow-motion video shooting.

The Realme X3 comes with a 16-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens in its dual selfie came system. The back panel of the phone also features a quad-camera system that includes a 64-megapixel Samsung GW1 main lens, a 51mm 12-megapixel telephoto lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. It also supports Nightscape Mode and Starry Mode.

The other features of the Realme X3 series include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, dual-frequency GPS, USB-C, 1216 super linear speakers, tactile engine linear motor and in-screen fingerprint reader. It lacks a 3.5mm audio jack.

Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth recently confirm the company was working on the Realme X3 which he referred to as the company’s next flagship. The model has been confirmed to launch alongside the Realme X3 Zoom on June 25.

The Realme X3 has now been spotted on benchmark database GeekBench. The device appears with model number RMX2085 and it is listed to have a 12GB RAM onboard. Earlier, the X3 was rumoured to have an 8GB RAM onboard and we can assume there will be more than one RAM variants. However, the single and multi-core scores are not in the terrain of Snapdragon 865-powered models. The model posted a GeekBench 4 single-core score of 2307 and multi-core score of 8216.

The flagship variant is likely the Realme X3 Pro (RMX2121) which disappeared on TENAA and AnTuTu powered by a Snapdragon 865 SoC. The X3 will feature a Snapdragon 855+ chipset going by an earlier Google Play Console listing. This places it in the same terrain as the X3 Super Zoom also powered by SDM855+. The Play Console listing includes a display resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels, 8GB RAM and Android 10 OS.

The company proudly boasts that the Realme X3 SuperZoom is the first camera phone built to capture the stars. Since the smartphone has already gone official in Europe, it is known that it will arrive with support for 60x zoom.

Realme recently confirmed that it will be announcing the Realme X3 smartphone in India on June 25. Today, Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth released an official confirmation that the Realme X3 SuperZoom will also debut on the said date.

The Realme X3 SuperZoom was made official in Europe in the previous month. There were speculations that the handset could be arriving in India. However, the first official tweet on the Realme X3 series that was rolled out earlier this week only confirmed the arrival of the Realme X3. Today’s tweet from Sheth confirms that the country will also receive Realme X3 SuperZoom.

The exact specs of the Realme X3 phone are not known yet. However, it is believed that the Realme X3 will be coming with specs similar to the Realme X3 SuperZoom. However, the cameras of the Realme X3 is unlikely to feature zoom capabilities that are available on the SuperZoom edition.

Prior to the launch in Europe, the official Realme India website listed the Realme X3 SuperZoom alongside a standard edition called the Realme X3. Today, it has now been officially confirmed that the Realme X3 is coming soon.

Shared on Twitter a short while ago, the tweet said the device is on its way but didn’t say when and which markets will get it first. There are speculations the Realme X3 may be announced alongside the Realme X3 SuperZoom in India, but until there is an official announcement, we advise you to take it with a pinch of salt.

The Realme X3 is reported to have similar specs to the SuperZoom edition according to a leak from early this month. So you will get a 6.6-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 855+ processor, up to 12GB of RAM, and a 64MP quad rear cameras. It will also come with 16MP + 8MP dual front-facing cameras and a 4200mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging.

The difference between the two phones seems to be the camera configuration. The SuperZoom edition has an 8MP periscope camera with 5x optical zoom but the standard edition has a 12MP telephoto camera with 2x zoom. The Realme X3 SuperZoom also has 32MP + 8MP dual front-facing cameras.

Popular tipster Mukul Sharma took to Weibo to share the key specifications of the Realme X3 smartphone.

According to Sharma, the Realme X3 borrows most of its specs from the Realme X3 SuperZoom smartphone. His leak states that the Realme X3 has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD panel that produces a Full HD+ resolution and carries support 120Hz refresh rate. The front and backside of the phone seems to be protected by Gorilla Glass 5 panels.

The Snapdragon 855+ mobile platform that fuels the X3 SuperZoom phone also powers the vanilla X3. The handset is expected to arrive in RAM options like 6 GB, 8 GB and 12 GB. It could be available in storage variants like 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB.

However, there has been no word about the X3 and X3 Pro even though we already know they exist via leaks. The Realme X3 has just appeared once again on the Google Play Console, key specs in tow.

The listing shows the device will be powered by the same Snapdragon 855+ at the heart of the SuperZoom. The X3 will come with 8GB of RAM but there is no indication if it will feature support for 5G.

The X3 is also listed to pack a display resolution of 1,080 x 2,400px resolution. The phone may come with 90Hz display unlike the SuperZoom with 120Hz but that is not stated. It will run Android 10 operating system out of the box.

The Realme X3 recently appeared for certification on India’s BIS website with model numbers RMX2081L1, RMX2085L1, RMX2086L1 which are likely regional variants. There is information yet on the launch date.

Realme is known for launching successors to its devices in four to six months. The Realme X first debuted in May 2019 and was soon followed by Realme X2 and X2 Pro in September and October of the same year. Then, after a year from the launch of the first device in the series, the brand launched Realme X3 SuperZoom.

Just like the previous handsets in the series, the third generation is also expected to get other models. The upcoming next two phones in the Realme X3 series have been recently spotted by MySmartPrice on Google Play supported devices list and BIS certification suggesting them to launch in India soon.

Unfortunately, nothing is known about these phones except for their model numbers. First of all, RMX2086 is the already official Realme X3 SuperZoom. That leaves RMX2081 and RMX2085 to be Realme X3 and Realme X3 Pro respectively.

Realme announced its camera-centric upper mid-range smartphone, the Realme X3 SuperZoom this week in Europe. The phone’s biggest highlight is its 60x zoom camera, rivaling the likes of Huawei in terms of its maximum zooming capability. While the focus is on its camera department, the Realme X3 SuperZoom is also a pretty good smartphone in terms of other hardware. It comes with a year-old Snapdragon 855+ processor, which by the way, is still quite powerful for a 2020 smartphone and up to 12GB RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. In case you are wondering, given the older chipset, the Realme X3 SuperZoom DOES NOT support 5G. So the company has made it clear that this phone is for people looking for high value for money, instead of the latest technology.

In terms of design, the Realme X3 SuperZoom is very similar to the Realme X50 Pro 5G that was announced a few months back in China. This includes a matte finish back and a vertically arranged rear camera setup. Upfront, you also get a dual-camera selfie setup, similar to the X50 Pro 5G.

The Realme X3 SuperZoom comes with a dense plastic frame with a glass back. We’ve got the Arctic White with us today and the silverish-color gives the phone a very elegant look. The matte-like finish also ensures that the back is not a fingerprint magnet.

It is also worth adding that the phone has a 120Hz IPS LCD display and NOT AMOLED. So there’s no in-screen fingerprint sensor. However, you get a super-fast fingerprint sensor on the right side – which also doubles as the power button. Coming to the bottom of the phone, you have a Type-C port at the center, a single speaker on one side, and a dual nano-SIM slot on the other.

The rear camera, which protrudes a bit from the body, consists of four cameras – in line with other Realme higher-end devices. But what makes the Realme X3 SuperZoom special is its 8MP f/3.4 telephoto camera with OIS that supports 5x optical zoom and up to 60x digital zoom. There’s a 64MP high-resolution primary camera in this setup along with another 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 2MP macro camera. As for the front camera, you get a large 32MP primary shooter paired with an 8MP wide-angle shooter for selfies.

The Realme X3 SuperZoom comes with the same 4200mAh battery size as the X50 Pro 5G, however, it only supports 30W fast charging.

The 6.6-inch 120Hz IPS LCD looked pretty bright and responsive in our first impressions. The UI and animations were superfluid, thanks to the high refresh rate, and overall, the phone was as quick as any other smartphone launched this year. The 9mm body and 200+ gram weight did make it a bit bulky to use. But the size is very similar to most top-end flagships available in 2020.

Realme X3 and X3 Pro Super Zoom have been in the news for quite some time now. The models have at various times appeared on certification websites and leaks. Realme recently confirmed the imminent launch of the smartphone touted to come with 60x zoom and a new “Starry Mode”. The launch may be just around the corner as the X3 and X30 Super Zoom have now been listed on the company’s support page in India. Also spotted on the page is the Realme TV.

Earlier on, the Realme X50 was also listed on the official Realme India support page but the listing was later removed. That may also be a hint that the X50M will also hit India at some point. The X50M was launched in China last month.

As for the Realme TV, the first TV from Realme was already confirmed to be introduced in Q2 2020, and it even got BIS certification. In the previous week, Realme unveiled the Realme X50m smartphone in China. A reliable tipster from China shared an image of a mysterious Realme phone that has a unique rear design. The identity of the phone is currently under the wraps. It appears that it could be the upcoming Realme smartphone for the home market.

As it can be seen in the leaked shot, the unknown Realme phone has a rear design that is quite different from the smartphones that the company released so far. The handset has a carbon-like textured rear with a vertical strip with gold accents at the center.

There are three cameras placed at the top portion of the vertical strip and alongside the camera setup is an LED flash. The top edge of the device appears barren. Usually smartphones are known for going official within a month of bagging Bluetooth approval. Since there are only few days remaining in April, it appears that the Chinese firm could be aiming to unveil the Realme X3 SuperZoom phone in May. The handset was recently spotted at Geekbench benchmarking platform with Snapdragon 855 SoC, 12 GB of RAM and Android 10 OS.

Realme is reportedly working on a lighter version of the Realme X50 5G phone that debuted in China at the beginning of this year. It is speculated that the model number of the handset is RMX2052. A reliable tipster from China has shared the camera details of the smartphone. At the same time, Realme seems to be working on the launch of a new phone that has a model number of RMX2142. This phone could be the rumored Realme X3 phone. The handset has received 3C and TENAA certifications in China.

Purported Realme X3 at TENAA and 3C

The 3C certification of the RMX2142 had revealed that it is a 5G-ready phone and it may arrive with support for 30W fast charging. Currently, only the preliminary specs of the Realme X3 are available on TENAA.

TENAA revealed that the dimensions of the Realme RMX2142 are 163.8 x 75.8 x 8.9mm. The device houses a 6.57-inch display. The phone is backed by a minimum rated battery of 4,100mAh battery. Other details of the phone are yet to surface.
