Xiaomi has officially announced the Redmi Book 14 (2026) and Redmi Book 16 (2026) in China. Both models are available starting today, with a limited-time 500 yuan discount for purchases made before April 23.

As a refresh of their 2025 counterparts, the new laptops bring iterative hardware upgrades. Here’s a closer look.

What’s similar

At a glance, the two laptops share most of their core hardware. Both the 14-inch and 16-inch versions are powered by Intel’s Core Ultra 5 125H processor, a 14-core, 18-thread chip designed for thin-and-light systems. Xiaomi says the laptops can push up to 60W of performance, backed by a dual-fan, dual heat pipe cooling setup.

Memory and storage configurations range from 16GB RAM with 512GB SSD to 32GB RAM with 1TB storage, with LPDDR5X memory clocked at 7467MT/s and PCIe 4.0 SSDs. There’s also support for M.2 expansion.

The two models don’t differ in battery capacity either. Both pack an 80Wh battery and ship with a 100W GaN USB-C charger. Xiaomi says the charger can also fast-charge smartphones, which fits into its broader “human, vehicle, and home” ecosystem approach. Features like cross-device camera, NFC, unified device control, and keyboard and mouse sharing are part of that pitch.

As for I/O, they have Thunderbolt 4, full-featured USB-C, HDMI 2.1, USB-A, and a 3.5mm jack. On paper, there’s little separating the two in terms of everyday usability.

What’s different

The differences mostly come down to size, display, and weight. The 14-inch model uses a higher resolution 2.8K (2880×1800) panel with 500 nits peak brightness, while the 16-inch version drops to 2.5K (2560×1600) and 400 nits. Both support a 120Hz refresh rate and use glossy panels, which may introduce reflections depending on lighting conditions.

Moreover, the 14-inch model weighs about 1.49kg, while the 16-inch version comes in at 1.86kg. 

Aside from that, the overall design, keyboard setup, and features remain largely the same.

Price

The Redmi Book 2026 series starts at 5999 yuan, which is roughly $900. The 16-inch model starts slightly higher at 5699 yuan, or about $930, keeping both devices in a fairly close pricing range.

The Xiaomi Redmi Book 14 2024 laptop boasts a 14-inch 2.8K (2880×1800) display with a speedy 120Hz refresh rate, 242 PPI pixel density, and full sRGB color gamut coverage. The laptop impresses with a sleek, lightweight design, weighing just 1.37kg and measuring 15.9mm in thickness.

It’s powered by the Intel i5-13500H processor, featuring dual fans and dual 8mm heat pipes for efficient cooling and supporting a 47W performance boost, that delivers a 12% higher fps than competitors when playing mainstream FPS games. With 16GB LPDDR5-6400 RAM and up to 1TB SSD (plus a second M.2 SSD slot), it offers ample storage and memory.

It comes with a 56Wh battery and offers various connectivity options, including Thunderbolt 4, USB-A ports, HDMI, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Xiaomi Redmi Book 16 2024 Specifications:

The Xiaomi Redmi Book 16 2024 laptop offers a 16-inch 2.5K display with a high 120Hz refresh rate, 100% sRGB color gamut, and 400 nits brightness. The laptop features a slim, lightweight full metal body, weighing just 1.68kg and measuring 15.9mm in thickness.

Powered by the i5-13500H processor, it also uses dual fans and dual 8mm heat pipes for efficient cooling and supports a 47W performance boost. The laptop is equipped with 16GB LPDDR5-6400 RAM, providing flagship-grade memory that accelerates tasks like video exports in applications such as video editing by 15%. It also offers up to 1TB SSD, and there’s an extra M.2 SSD slot available for additional storage.

Equipped with a larger 72Wh battery, it offers various connectivity options, including Thunderbolt 4, USB-A ports, HDMI, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The Xiaomi RedmiBook 14 is offered in Starlight Silver and Starry Grey colors, while the 16-inch variant is exclusively available in Starry Grey. The RedmiBook 14 is currently on sale in China, while the RedmiBook 16 is set to be available starting from December 1st.

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is gearing up to launch a new laptop in China. The notebook is officially called Redmi Book 14.

The company started teasing the computer earlier today. It has not only revealed the launch date but also the price segment and some specs.

Let’s check out everything that’s known about the upcoming laptop from Redmi.

The Redmi Book 14 2023 is scheduled to launch in China on May 22 (Monday). The product will be priced at around ¥4,000 (~$575).

It will be powered by 45W 13th Gen Intel H-series processors. The chipset will be paired with LPDDR5 RAM and PCIe 4.0 SSD. It will come with two empty M.2 slots so that interested users can expand the storage by up to 3TB.

To keep the thermals down, the notebook will feature a cooling system that’s rare in this segment. It will be equipped with two cooling fans and dual 8mm heat pipes

Finally, the computer will be also Intel Evo-certified. This means despite being powerful, it will be thin and light with top-of-the-line connectivity options and more. All of these for under $600 makes the Redmi Book 14 2023 an exciting product.
