Redmi Smart TV X 2022 50-inch model goes on sale in China for 2,299 yuan ($361)

A few days ago, Xiaomi had launched the Redmi Smart TV X 2022 50-inch model in its home market in China. Today, the device is officially available for purchase in the country.

The Redmi Smart TV X 2022 50-inch model is priced at 2,299 yuan which roughly converts to $361 and is available for purchase through the e-commerce platform JD.com.

It comes with a 50-inch 4K display that offers a screen resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 120Hz MEMC. There’s also support for a 178-degree viewing angle and DCI-P3 94% color gamut.

Under the hood, the smart TV comes powered by Cortex-A73 quad-core CPU and Mali-G52 MC1 GPU, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It is also equipped with two 12.5W speakers in the left and right channels.

As for the interface, the Redmi Smart TV X 2022 is fitted with two HDMI 2.0 (eARC), one HDMI 2.1 port (4K 120Hz), one AV, one ATV/DTMB, two USB, one S/PDIF, one RJ-45, and four mic arrays to support far-field voice.

Earlier, the company had launched two models in the lineup, which included a 65-inch display and a 55-inch display, packing almost the same set of specifications. These two models are already available for purchase in the Chinese market.

Xiaomi has updated the Redmi Smart TV X 2022 with a new display version. The new model packs a 75-inch display and also presents with support for a dual 120Hz refresh screen, HDMI 2.1 interface, Dolby Vision Atmos, among others.

Xiaomi first announced the Redmi Smart TV X 2022 in October this year but it was available in just a 55-inch and 65-inch display version. In other aspects, the smart TV adopts an all-metal full-screen design with a full-array backlight screen. It also has a 4K resolution of 3840×2160 pixels. The display has a typical grayscale response time of 6.5ms, a color depth supporting 10-bit (8-bit + FRC), and a color gamut coverage of 94% P3. It also supports FreeSync Premium and Dolby Vision.

The Redmi Smart TV X 2022 also comes with a unique dual 120Hz refresh rate and MEMC which can greatly improve the definition of the dynamic pictures and reduce smear.

For audio, the Smart TV X equally packs a powerful setup tuned to deliver optimum audio quality. The audio system consists of four built-in speakers, 2 ducts, a sealed box with a 2×0.38L large sound cavity, an output power of 2×12.5W, as well as Dolby Atmos support.

In terms of the internal configuration, the Redmi X Smart TV is powered by a MediaTek MTK 9650 processor which is used by the Mi TV Master Edition. The 22m chipset integrates a Mali-G52 2EE MC1 GPU. It also brings support for AI-PQ, AI -AQ intelligent audio, and picture adjustment, and pairs with 3GB RAM as well as 32GB of internal storage.

For interface, the smart TV is fitted with two HDMI 2.0 (eARC), one HDMI 2.1 port (4K 120Hz), one AV, one ATV/DTMB, two USB, one S/PDIF, one RJ-45, and four Mic arrays to support far-field voice.

Xiaomi‘s independent Redmi brand last year unveiled the Redmi X series of smart TVs that deliver high-end features at rock-bottom prices compared to contemporaries. The models were a hit with buyers, emerging as top-sellers on China’s foremost e-retail platforms TMall and JD.com. Spurred by the successor of the original models, Redmi has announced the Smart TV X 2022.

The Redmi Smart TV X 2022 comes in two sizes – 65 inches and 55 inches. Both adopt an all-metal full-screen design with a full-array backlight screen. The smart TV also has a 4K resolution of 3840×2160 pixels. You’ll agree that the prices are extremely affordable for a smart TV with this array of specs. The smart TV will go on sale simultaneously on October 31 via JD.com, Xiaomi Mall, and Xiaomi Youpin.

Xiaomi has recently teased the launch of a new TV series from its Redmi sub brand. While the company had been promoting its new Mi TV Master series, it has now showcased its Redmi Smart TV X 2022.

The Chinese tech giant has yet to announce the regional availability of the new Redmi Smart TV X 2022 series, but current models are only available in China and India. For those unaware, the previous generation, Redmi Smart TV X 2020, was launched in a 50 inch, 55 inch, and 65 inch display sizes. So we can expect the upcoming models with the same display sizes or even more options. The predecessor also offered features like, DTS Virtual X, Dolby Audio, Dolby Vision, and MEMC.

In other words, most of these features if not all would likely make an appearance in the upcoming 2022 series as well. Other features could also includes 4K display panels with HDR10+ support among other aspects. As of right now, the smartphone maker has only shared two image posters so far, although, these images have revealed that the brand is aiming on launching the new Redmi Smart TV X 2022 on 20th of October 2021. Redmi is planning to expand its TV lineup with a new premium model. The manufacturer has announced that it will launch a new TV called the Redmi Smart TV X 2022 on October 20.

The announcement was made by the official Xiaomi TV account earlier today but it didn’t reveal any details of the upcoming TV. However, there are speculations that the TV will have MEMC support as well as a metal body.

The Redmi Smart TV X series was first announced last year as an affordable TV series with premium features such as having a 4K resolution, MEMC support, and a metallic build. The 2020 model was announced in three sizes – 50 inches, 55 inches, and 65 inches. There is a chance the Redmi Smart TV X 2022 will also be available in multiple sizes.

The 2020 model also packed impressive built-in speakers, so we can expect similar or better ones on the models launching next week. Other specifications expected for it to have is Dolby Audio, DTS audio, and far-field microphones for voice control. Last year’s model launched with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage and there is a possibility it will be carried over to this year.

We also expect similar pricing to the Redmi Smart TV X which had a launch price of under $300 for the 50-inch model.
