<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/xiaomi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi</a> is raising the prices of some Redmi phones in China, and the changes are taking effect today. The company confirmed it’s bumping prices on three of its higher-end models: the Redmi K90 Pro Max, Redmi Turbo 5, and Redmi Turbo 5 Max.</p>

<p>According to the brand, the increases are due to the “continued sharp rise” in the cost of key components, especially global memory chips.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Redmi-Price-hike-announcement.jpg?x44794" alt="Redmi Price hike announcement" class="wp-image-734204" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Redmi-Price-hike-announcement.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Redmi-Price-hike-announcement-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Redmi-Price-hike-announcement-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Redmi-Price-hike-announcement-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Redmi-Price-hike-announcement-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<h2><strong>Here are the new effective prices</strong></h2>

<p>The most direct increase is to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-k90-pro-max/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Redmi K90 Pro Max</a>, which now costs 200 yuan more across all configurations. The base 12GB + 256GB variant is now priced at 4,199 yuan, up from its earlier launch price of 3,999 yuan. Higher-end variants follow the same pattern, with the top 16GB + 1TB model now listed at 5,499 yuan, compared to its initial price of 5,299 yuan.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="512" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/REDMI-K90-Pro-Max-Review_1.mp4_20251031_111250.473-1024x512.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-713326" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/REDMI-K90-Pro-Max-Review_1.mp4_20251031_111250.473-1024x512.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/REDMI-K90-Pro-Max-Review_1.mp4_20251031_111250.473-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/REDMI-K90-Pro-Max-Review_1.mp4_20251031_111250.473-768x384.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/REDMI-K90-Pro-Max-Review_1.mp4_20251031_111250.473-1536x768.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/REDMI-K90-Pro-Max-Review_1.mp4_20251031_111250.473-696x348.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/REDMI-K90-Pro-Max-Review_1.mp4_20251031_111250.473-1068x534.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/REDMI-K90-Pro-Max-Review_1.mp4_20251031_111250.473-840x420.jpg 840w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/REDMI-K90-Pro-Max-Review_1.mp4_20251031_111250.473.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Things are a little less straightforward with the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/redmi-turbo-5/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Redmi Turbo 5 </a>and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-turbo-5-max/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Turbo 5 Max</a>. The prices have gone up, but not because Xiaomi is raising them directly. Instead, the company has ended its Spring Festival promotional discounts, effectively snapping both phones back to their standard retail pricing.</p>

<p>However, Xiaomi is still offering a 200 yuan subsidy on the 512GB variants, which slightly softens the impact for buyers considering higher storage options.</p>

<p>This means the Redmi Turbo 5 now starts at 2,299 yuan for the 12GB + 256GB model, while the Turbo 5 Max begins at 2,499 yuan for the same configuration. Previously, both models were available at lower “initial sale” prices during promotional periods.</p>

<p>None of this comes as much of a surprise. Memory prices have been trending upward for a while now, and manufacturers usually pass at least some of those costs down the line.</p>

<p>Only days after its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/29/redmi-turbo-5-max-launches-with-gigantic-9000mah-battery-dimensity-9500s/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">initial launch</a>, Xiaomi has updated the Redmi Turbo 5 Max with a new model. The variant brings a higher RAM and storage configuration, giving buyers even more room for apps, photos, and games. This will be the new top end version that joins the existing Turbo 5 Max models. </p>

<h2>Redmi Turbo 5 Max launches in 16GB + 1TB option</h2>

<p>The Chinese tech giant just announced the release of the Redmi Turbo 5 Max in a 16GB + 1TB storage configuration. But aside from this bump in storage, it is practically the same as the other available variants. So it still sports a tall 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, and up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness. Under the hood, the device is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-1024x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="Redmi Turbo 5 Max" class="wp-image-724022" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-696x696.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Redmi Turbo 5 Max</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>A massive 9,000mAh battery pack powers this model, which supports 100W wired fast charging and 27W reverse wired fast charging. For optics, the rear has a 50MP Light Fusion 500 main camera along with an 8MP ultra wide angle lens. Other notable features include NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, WiFi 6, and IP69K water and dust resistance. Previously, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max topped out at 16GB + 512GB, but you&#8217;re now getting 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage as the best variant.</p>

<p>Keep in mind that this new model is only available in China, and it is being sold in limited quantities due to the high production cost. Meaning, it is only being made in a small initial batch at the moment. The brand has priced the 16GB + 1TB Turbo 5 Max at around 3,399 Yuan, which is roughly about 490 US Dollars.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/xiaomi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi </a>has officially unveiled the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-turbo-5-max/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Redmi Turbo 5 Max </a>as a value focused flagship model from its new Turbo 5 lineup. The Redmi Turbo Max features an absolutely gigantic battery capacity, a powerful new chip, and a sleek new design. So here are all the details.</p>

<h2>Redmi Turbo 5 Max: Design &amp; Display</h2>

<p>The device sports a 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a bright panel that can reach up to 3,500 nits for excellent outdoor visibility. The display also supports 3840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming and DC dimming to reduce flicker and eye strain, plus Dolby Vision for richer HDR content. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-1024x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="Redmi Turbo 5 Max" class="wp-image-724022" width="802" height="802" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-696x696.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 802px) 100vw, 802px" /><figcaption>Redmi Turbo 5 Max in Ocean Blue</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>In terms of build, this model features a CNC metallic frame on the sides and a fiberglass back panel. The rear has a distinct double ring turbine light strip. The Redmi Turbo 5 Max was just announced in multiple color options, including Shadow Black, Ocean Blue, Cloud White, and the iPhone 17 Pro-inspired Sunshine Orange. You also get an IP66/68/69/69K rating for water and dust resistance.</p>

<h2>Performance</h2>

<p>Under the hood, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max is one of the first smartphones to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset. This is basically cutdown version of the flagship Dimensity 9500, with performance matching the older Dimensity 9400. It is coupled with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 5.1 storage. With these specs, the budget flagship can easily handle demanding games and multitasking without breaking a sweat. </p>

<p>The latest teasers confirm that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/redmi-turbo-5-max">Redmi Turbo 5 Max</a> will feature a large 6.83-inch LTPS OLED display with 1.5K resolution. The panel is said to deliver a peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits, making it suitable for outdoor use, and it supports 3,840Hz PWM dimming for improved eye comfort during low-light viewing. Redmi has also confirmed that the phone will include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.</p>

<p>When it comes to durability, the Turbo 5 Max will feature a metal middle frame along with IP68 and IP69 rating, offering protection against dust and high-pressure water exposure. Audio duties will be handled by dual 1115F symmetric stereo speakers, while connectivity enhancements include Redmi’s T1S signal enhancement chip and support for kilometre-level network-free communication, allowing long-range off-grid communication.</p>

<p>On the imaging front, the phone will rely on an OmniVision Light Fusion 600 primary camera with high dynamic range. The brand has also confirmed blue, white, and orange color options for the Max variant.</p>

<p>Redmi had previously confirmed that the Turbo 5 Max will be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-9500s">Dimensity 9500s</a> chipset. The device is also set to pack a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/19/redmi-turbo-5-max-desig-battery/">massive 9,000mAh battery,</a> paired with 100W fast charging and 27W reverse charging support.</p>

This model is confirmed to feature a smaller 6.59-inch display and will be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-8500">Dimensity 8500</a> chipset. Its battery capacity is expected to be around 8,000mAh with 100W charging. Redmi has officially confirmed the white colour option for the standard Turbo 5, while details about other colour variants remain unclear. The Max variant is expected to be priced at around ~$360 in China, which suggests that the standard model may cost around ~$300.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/redmi">Redmi</a> has officially confirmed the Redmi Turbo 5 series is scheduled to debut in China on Jan. 29 and will include two models, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/redmi-turbo-5">Redmi Turbo 5</a> and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/redmi-turbo-5-max">Turbo 5 Max</a>. Lu Weibing, President of Xiaomi Group and General Manager of the Redmi brand, released a <a href="https://weibo.com/1892653244/QoRYceMIy">Weibo post</a> to outline Redmi’s broader direction with the Turbo series and set the stage for what is positioned as a major mid-range performance release.</p>

<h3><strong>Redmi Turbo 5 series positioning and strategy</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="768" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-series-launch-date-768x1024.png?x44794" alt="Redmi Turbo 5 series launch date" class="wp-image-724741" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-series-launch-date-768x1024.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-series-launch-date-225x300.png 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-series-launch-date-1152x1536.png 1152w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-series-launch-date-696x928.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-series-launch-date-1068x1424.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-series-launch-date-315x420.png 315w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-series-launch-date.png 1440w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /><figcaption>Redmi Turbo 5 series launch date</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>According to Lu Weibing, the Turbo series has been developed to bridge the gap between mainstream and flagship performance. He explained that Redmi is relying on the Turbo lineup to handle the highly competitive 2.5K Yuan (~$360) price segment, even as component costs continue to rise across the industry.</p>

<p>Weibing also reflected on the success of earlier Turbo models, including the Turbo Pro variants launched last year, which achieved strong early sales and helped shift user perception around performance-focused phones in this category. This foundation, he said, has allowed Redmi to push harder with the Turbo 5 generation.</p>

<p>The highlight of Weibing’s reveal is the Redmi Turbo 5 Max, which introduces a more aggressive hardware approach compared to the standard model. He confirmed that the Turbo 5 Max will debut with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimenisty-9500s">Dimensity 9500s</a> chipset, marking the first time the Turbo series adopts a flagship-grade Dimensity 9000-class processor. Performance figures shared by Redmi suggest the device is tuned to challenge phones priced well above the equivalent of the 4,000 CNY (~$575) segment.</p>

<p>The Turbo 5 Max is set to feature a 9,000mAh battery combined with Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS-level power management. Weibing claimed that real-world endurance could surpass some 10,000mAh competitors, despite the smaller capacity on paper. Beyond raw numbers, Redmi is also emphasising premium build quality, refined design, improved haptics, and comprehensive water resistance, aiming to bring a near-flagship experience into a more accessible category.</p>

<p>Apart from confirming these details, Redmi also shared the official images of the Turbo 5 in white and the Turbo 5 Max in orange. The Turbo 5 will be a smaller model with a 6.59-inch screen and a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-8500">Dimensity 8500</a> chip, whereas the Turbo 5 Max will have a 6.83-inch screen. Both devices are expected to pack <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/19/redmi-turbo-5-max-desig-battery/">a 9,000mAh battery</a> and support 100W charging.</p>

<p>Xiaomi has officially announced the Redmi Turbo 5 Max, expanding the Turbo series with a strong focus on battery longevity and fast charging. Revealed by CEO Lei Jun, the device is the first Xiaomi smartphone to feature a 9000mAh Jinshajiang battery, designed to support up to 1600 charging cycles.</p>

<p>To emphasize long-term durability, Xiaomi is offering a five-year battery warranty during the first sale period. Under this policy, users are eligible for a free battery replacement if battery health falls below 80 percent within five years, with servicing fully covered through official Xiaomi service centers.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="655" height="674" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/image-132.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-724407" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/image-132.png 655w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/image-132-292x300.png 292w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/image-132-408x420.png 408w" sizes="(max-width: 655px) 100vw, 655px" /></figure></div>

<p>Redmi Turbo 5 Max supports 100W PPS wired fast charging, powered by Xiaomi’s Surge P3 charging chip, matching charging speeds seen on Xiaomi flagship models. It also includes 27W reverse wired charging, allowing the phone to function as a power bank. Bypass charging is supported to reduce heat and battery wear during extended gaming or heavy use.</p>

<p>Xiaomi claims a record energy density of 894Wh/L, the highest in its history. In internal testing, the Turbo 5 Max reportedly outlasted a competing smartphone with a 10,000mAh battery by 43 minutes.</p>

<p>The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset and is expected to launch in China later this month, with January 29 widely speculated as the launch date.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/redmi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Redmi</a> wants to talk about the battery life of the upcoming Turbo 5 Max. And it is doing so in a livestream scheduled for tomorrow.</p>

<p>The company announced on its official Weibo account that it will hold a “Turbo 5 Max Battery Endurance Challenge” tomorrow at 9 AM. The event will be live on Xiaomi&#8217;s official site, Weibo handle, and Douyin (Chinese TikTok)</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="450" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-9000mAh-battery-test-livestream.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-724079" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-9000mAh-battery-test-livestream.jpg 450w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-9000mAh-battery-test-livestream-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-9000mAh-battery-test-livestream-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px" /></figure></div>

<p>According to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/redmi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Redmi</a>, the event will be a head-to-head comparison test featuring phones in the same general price category. The brand is calling it the first “test to death” live stream of 2026. Quite dramatic, but okay. </p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-turbo-5-max/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Turbo 5 Max</a> features a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/19/redmi-turbo-5-max-desig-battery/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">9000mAh battery</a>. It’s the biggest battery phone from not just Redmi but Xiaomi as a whole, and the company really wants to show its prowess. </p>

<h2><strong>Redmi vs Honor</strong></h2>

<p>Redmi claims its new phone can go up against competing phones that advertise 9,000mAh and even 10,000mAh capacities. For those unaware, phones from Honor (Power 2 / Win / Win RT) are the only ones with a 10,000mAh cell. </p>

<p>According to Xiaomi President Lu Weibing, the phone should comfortably last a full day even under heavy use. Xiaomi also claims this battery reaches an energy density of 894Wh/L, which the company says is the highest in its industry. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-1024x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="Redmi Turbo 5 Max" class="wp-image-724022" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-696x696.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Redmi Turbo 5 Max</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Beyond the battery, there isn’t much official information yet. According to reports, the phone will be priced around 2,500 yuan, roughly $360&nbsp;</p>

<p>It is expected to come with a 1.5K OLED LTPS display and support for 100W fast charging. Powering the device is a Dimensity 9500s chipset that scored an<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/18/redmi-turbo-5-max-antutu-listing/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> impressive 3.29 million points </a>on Geekbench.  It has also appeared on Geekbench with 16GB of RAM and Android 16.</p>

<p>As for cameras, the device will likely ship with a 50MP wide and 8MP ultrawide combo on the back.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Redmi has not revealed an official launch date yet, but you can expect it to launch in late January or early February. </p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/redmi">Redmi</a> is gradually revealing key details about the upcoming Redmi Turbo 5 Max but is still keeping its launch date a mystery. Today, it released fresh teasers to confirm its design and battery size. Here’s a look at all the new details shared by the brand.</p>

<h3><strong>Redmi Turbo 5 Max design</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-1024x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="Redmi Turbo 5 Max" class="wp-image-724022" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-696x696.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Redmi Turbo 5 Max</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-turbo-5-max/">Redmi Turbo 5 Max</a> can be seen sporting a large OLED panel with rounded edges and slim bezels on all four sides. The back panel continues to feature a vertical dual-camera setup, similar to the previous generation. The overall design is quite similar to its predecessor but appears more refined.</p>

<h3><strong>Redmi Turbo 5 Max battery size revealed</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="768" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-battery-768x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="Redmi Turbo 5 Max battery" class="wp-image-724010" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-battery-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-battery-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-battery-1152x1536.jpg 1152w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-battery-696x928.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-battery-1068x1424.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-battery-315x420.jpg 315w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-battery.jpg 1440w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /><figcaption>Redmi Turbo 5 Max battery size revealed</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The Redmi Turbo 5 Max will arrive with a massive 9,000mAh battery. While the brand is yet to confirm its fast-charging capabilities officially, its 3C certification has already revealed that it may support 100W wired charging. Rumors do not suggest wireless charging support for the device.</p>

<p>Under the hood, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max will feature the all-new <a href="https://www.gizmochian.com/tag/dimensity-9500s">Dimensity 9500s</a> chipset. The device has already been spotted on AnTuTu benchmarks, achieving an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/18/redmi-turbo-5-max-antutu-listing/">impressive score of 3.29 million</a>. It has also appeared on Geekbench with 16GB of RAM and Android 16.</p>

<p>The camera details of the Redmi Turbo 5 Max are currently under wraps, but it would not be surprising if it continues to feature a 50-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual-camera setup like its predecessor.</p>

<p>Sibling brand Poco is also working on the Poco X8 Pro Max for the global market. While the technical details of this phone remain under wraps, it is widely believed to be a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/15/poco-x8-pro-max-bis-certification-india/">rebranded version of the Redmi Turbo 5 Max</a>. This Poco phone is expected to debut globally within the ongoing quarter.</p>

<p>To recall, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max was <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/12/redmi-turbo-5-pro-max-geekbench-dimensity-9500s-chip/">recently spotted on Geekbench</a> with the Dimensity 9500s Soc and 16GB of RAM, registering 2656 points in the single-core test and 8377 points in the multi-core test.</p>

<p>Expected to be priced at around 2,500 Yuan (~$360), the Redmi Turbo 5 Max is said to feature a 1.5K OLED LTPS screen and a battery of around 9,000mAh capacity with 100W charging. The rest of its specifications are under wraps. The series is also expected to have a standard model powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-8500">Dimensity 8500</a> chip. It remains to be seen whether it will be called the Redmi Turbo 5 or something else.</p>

For the first time ever, the Redmi Turbo series is getting MediaTek&#8217;s Dimensity 9000 series chipset, with a fresh teaser also showcasing its high end performance with an impressive AnTuTu score. <h2>Redmi Turbo 5 Max teased with Dimensity 9500s</h2>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-with-Dimensity-9500s.jpg?x44794" alt="Redmi Turbo 5 Max with Dimensity 9500s" class="wp-image-723589" width="576" height="768" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-with-Dimensity-9500s.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-with-Dimensity-9500s-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-with-Dimensity-9500s-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px" /></figure></div>

<p>The Chinese tech giant&#8217;s latest teaser poster confirms that the Redmi Turbo 5 Max is equipped with the new MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset. Thanks to this chipset, the upcoming smartphone managed to achieve a flagship level score of 3.61 million on the popular AnTuTu benchmark. To recall, this is slightly faster than even the Dimensity 9500, which powers premium smartphone models like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-find-x9-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Oppo Find X9 Pro</a> (<strong><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/10/29/oppo-find-x9-pro-review-flawed-but-still-the-best-overall/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Review</a></strong>) and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-x300-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Vivo X300 Pro</a>.</p>

<p>Dimensity 9500s pairs the advanced CPU configuration with a 12-core Immortalis-G925 GPU. This chip also has a 1 x Cortex-X925 clocked at 3.73GHz, 3 x Cortex-X4 clocked at 3.30GHz, and 4 x Cortex-A720 with a 2.40GHz clock speed. This teaser arrives shortly after the brand teased the pricing details. Xiaomi&#8217;s Redmi Turbo 5 Max will be <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/14/redmi-turbo-5-max-teaser/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">priced around 2,500 Yuan</a>, which is roughly around 360 US Dollars.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Pro-Max-Render.jpg?x44794" alt="Redmi-Turbo-5-Pro-Max-Render" class="wp-image-723078" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Pro-Max-Render.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Pro-Max-Render-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Pro-Max-Render-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Pro-Max-Render-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Pro-Max-Render-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /><figcaption>Redmi Turbo 5 Max (Unconfirmed)</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>At this price point, it is classified as a budget flagship model. Based on what we know so far, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max will sport a 1.5K flat display, up to 16GB of RAM, and a massive 9,000mAh battery pack. Earlier this week, the smartphone also surfaced on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/12/redmi-turbo-5-pro-max-geekbench-dimensity-9500s-chip/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">GeekBench </a>database, which also showcased powerful performance. MediaTek has just <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/15/mediatek-dimensity-9500s-launch-details/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">debuted the Dimensity 9500s</a>, so Redmi&#8217;s new smartphone should likely launch soon after. </p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/redmi">Redmi</a> has started teasing the arrival of the Turbo 5 Max, hinting at a major upgrade for its Turbo lineup. The brand has confirmed that the device will be officially announced soon, with early teasers focusing on performance ambitions rather than detailed specifications. While nothing concrete has been revealed yet, the Turbo 5 Max is already being positioned as a key mid-range contender for 2026.</p>

<h3><strong>Redmi Turbo 5 Max teased again</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="600" height="800" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-teaser.jpg?x44794" alt="Redmi Turbo 5 Max teaser" class="wp-image-723376" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-teaser.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-teaser-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Redmi-Turbo-5-Max-teaser-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /><figcaption>Redmi Turbo 5 Max teaser</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>According to official teasers and comments from Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing, the Turbo series has evolved over three generations and is now entering a more aggressive phase. He has repeatedly linked the Turbo 5 Max to the so-called 2.5K Yuan (~$360) segment. This is the space where brands usually balance near-flagship performance with practical compromises.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="871" height="162" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/image-83.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-723377" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/image-83.png 871w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/image-83-300x56.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/image-83-768x143.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/image-83-696x129.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 871px) 100vw, 871px" /></figure></div>

<p>Leaks indicate that series will include two models, such as the Redmi Turbo 5 Max and Redmi Turbo 5 Pro Max. These devices are said to be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimenisty-8500">Dimensity 8500</a> and the upcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimenisty-9500s">Dimensity 9500s</a> chipset. This would be the first time the Redmi Turbo series launches with a Dimensity 9-series flagship processor.</p>

<p>Built on a 3nm process, the D9500s is said to feature a powerful multi-core CPU configuration and a high-end Immortalis-class GPU. Benchmark data circulating online suggests single-core scores around 3000 and multi-core results crossing 9000, placing it close to top-tier Snapdragon flagship platforms.</p>

<p>Beyond raw performance, the Turbo 5 series is expected to bring meaningful upgrades to everyday usage. Reports point to a 1.5K flat display, paired with up to 16GB RAM for smoother multitasking.</p>

<p>Battery capacity is said to reach close to 9000mAh, alongside support for very fast wired charging and rapid reverse charging. The overall hardware package, including biometrics and build quality, is tipped to align more closely with premium smartphones, reinforcing Redmi’s intent to blur the line between mid-range and flagship devices.</p>

<p>Official teasers suggest that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/redmi-turbo-5-max">Redmi Turbo 5 Max</a> is positioned as a step-up model focused on higher performance, improved endurance, and a more premium in-hand experience. A design detail from the promotional material shows the word “Max” reflecting as “WIN”, indicating Redmi’s confidence in how the phone is expected to compete in its category.</p>

<p>Leaks from Chinese tipsters point towards the Turbo series receiving a noticeable upgrade this year, including wider adoption of metal frames, large flat displays with rounded corners, and next-generation MediaTek chipsets. Some reports also indicate testing of ultrasonic fingerprint technology on higher-end variants, along with what is claimed to be the largest battery ever used in a Redmi phone.</p>

<p>The standard Redmi Turbo 5 Max is expected to retain a slightly lower positioning and is likely to be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-8500">Dimensity 8500</a> chipset. This processor is built on a 4nm process and features an all-big-core CPU design, is scheduled to debut on Jan. 15 in China. The higher variant could be dubbed Redmi Turbo 5 Pro Max and may feature the upcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-9500e">Dimensity 9500e.</a></p>

<p>Outside China, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max and Redmi Turbo 5 Pro Max are expected to get rebranded as the Poco X8 series. Rumors suggest that the lineup may not include the standard Poco X8 but may comprise the Poco X8 Max (or Poco X8 Pro) and Poco X8 Pro Max.</p>
