<p>According to a <a href="https://www.gsmarena.com/yet_another_oppo_reno5_phone_in_the_works_certified_with_30w_charging-news-46920.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>GSMArena</em> </a>report, the Chinese tech giant is working on a new Reno5 mode reportedly dubbed the Oppo Reno5 Lite 5G. This model apparently supports 30W fast charging and was recently found listed on the Chinese website 3C (China Compulsory Certification). The device is codenamed PELM00, with the official branding having yet to be confirmed. Although, the original report from <a href="https://www.myfixguide.com/pelm00-3c-certification/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>MyFixGuide</em></a> seems confident of this branding as it covers all price categories through the Reno5 lineup.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/27/poll-of-the-week-do-you-use-a-game-controller-or-touch-controls-for-mobile-gaming/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Poll of The Week: Do you use a game controller or touch controls for mobile gaming?</a></strong></h6>
<p>Arriving at the charging listing, the Oppo Reno5 Lite 5G will arrive with VOOC 4.0, as the adapter is listed as VC56HACH, which is the same power brick as all of the other mid range devices from the company. Notably, with the launch of all five models, the smartphone maker would&#8217;ve successfully covered all categories with one lineup alone and have even launched a global variant as well.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-361176 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-Pro-poster.png?x10805" alt="OPPO Reno5 Pro+ poster" width="1516" height="856" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-Pro-poster.png 1516w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-Pro-poster-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-Pro-poster-768x434.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-Pro-poster-1024x578.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-Pro-poster-696x393.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-Pro-poster-1068x603.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-Pro-poster-744x420.png 744w" sizes="(max-width: 1516px) 100vw, 1516px" /></p>
<p>Unfortunately, the device&#8217;s other specifications are unknown at the moment. Although, a few educated speculations can be made right now, like the inclusion of a 5G Dimensity chipset from MediaTek, and a multi camera setup on the rear including a primary camera, ultra wide angle lens, depth sensor, and even a macro shooter. The mid range segment faces one of the stiffest competition in the industry, so the company might also surprise us with other features as well, so stay tuned for more updates.</p>

While the official confirmation is still awaited, an Indian tipster further hints that the Chinese variant could land unaltered in the country.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-359514" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5.jpg?x10805" alt="OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G" width="746" height="405" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5.jpg 746w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-300x163.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-696x378.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 746px) 100vw, 746px" /></p>
<p>Mukul Sharma has posted a tweet asking users to guess the possible chipset on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-reno5-pro-5g/">Reno5 Pro</a> smartphone. He has indirectly confirmed the device is indeed is launching in India soon. Also, the voting on the chipset emphasizing more on the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-1000+">MediaTek Dimensity 1000+</a> variant hints that <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/OPPO">OPPO</a> might launch it unchanged from China in India.</p>
<p>However, that hasn&#8217;t been the case in the past. Previously, OPPO Reno4 Pro <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/31/oppo-reno4-pro-india-launch-snapdragon-720g-65w/">came with Snapdragon 720G in India</a> but the Chinese variant has <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-765G">Snapdragon 765G SoC</a>. Similarly, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-reno-3-pro-5g/">Reno3 Pro</a> has the same SoC in China but the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/02/oppo-reno3-pro-with-44mp-dual-punch-hole-display-64mp-quad-cameras-helio-p95-and-30w-vooc-4-0-launched-for-rs-29999-416/">Indian variant</a> has an inferior Helio P95 chipset.</p>
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true">
<p lang="en" dir="ltr">So the OPPO Reno5 series has received an amazing response in China<img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/13.1.0/72x72/1f60d.png" alt="😍" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /><br />Can&#39;t wait for it to launch in India.<br />Was wondering as to whether the Indian variant of the OPPO Reno5 Pro will use the same Dimensity 1000+ processor or would there be a change <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/13.1.0/72x72/1f609.png" alt="😉" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /><br />what do you think?</p>

<p><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p>Anyway, if the device launches with the same SoC, it will be a big jump from the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-reno4-pro/">Reno4 Pro</a>. That is, the device will have a huge upgrade in performance and connectivity(5G). In any case, the other regions of the world might get both as <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/05/oppo-reno5-pro-5g-global-edition-to-arrive-with-snapdragon-765g/">5G</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/06/leak-says-oppo-reno5-4g-will-come-with-a-snapdragon-720g-processor/">4G </a>versions.</p>
<p>Precisely, reports say that Reno5 Pro 5G Global variant will have the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-765G">Snapdragon 765G</a> whereas the Reno5 4G version will retain the SoC of its predecessor, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/31/oppo-reno4-global-variant-launches-in-thailand-with-snapdragon-720g-30w-charging-more/">Reno4 Global variant</a>.</p>
<h4><strong>OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G China Specifications</strong></h4>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-reno5-pro-5g/">Reno5 Pro 5G</a> has a 6.55-inch curved OLED 90Hz display with a 2400&#215;1080 pixel resolution. It is powered by MediaTek <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/05/07/mediatek-dimensity-1000-announced-with-higher-refresh-rate-support/">Dimensity 1000+ SoC</a> and comes paired with 8/12GB RAM, 128/256GB storage.</p>
<p>It shares similar camera specs with the non-Pro variant. Accordingly, the device features a 64MP f/1.7 main lens, 8MP ultra-wide, and two 2MP sensors. Upfront, you get a 32MP selfie shooter.</p>
<p>Other specifications include a 4,350mAh battery with the 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 charging, in-display fingerprint sensor, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/coloros-11">ColorOS 11</a> based on <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-11">Android 11</a> out of the box, dual-SIM 5G, NFC, GPS for connectivity.</p>

<h5><strong>AirPods go max!</strong></h5>
<p><a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/apple">Apple</a> launched its first pair of premium over-the-ear headphones under the AirPods line. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/08/apple-airpods-max-launched/">AirPods Max</a>, as it is called, has an interesting design that makes it stand out from the plethora of headphones in the market. It has noise cancellation, spatial audio, support for Siri, a 20-hour battery life, and isn&#8217;t cheap with its $549 price tag.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-359514" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5.jpg?x10805" alt="OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G" width="746" height="405" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5.jpg 746w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-300x163.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-696x378.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 746px) 100vw, 746px" /></p>
<p><strong>OPPO&#8217;s Reno series enters 5th gen in under 2 years</strong></p>
<p><a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/oppo">OPPO</a> announced the Reno5 series last week. It is surprising we are already on the 5th gen considering that the Reno line made its debut last year. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/10/oppo-reno5-5g-and-reno5-pro-5g-launched-in-china-with-snapdragon-and-mediatek-processors-respectively/">Reno5 and Reno5 Pro</a> have a slightly refreshed design, improved cameras, slightly bigger batteries, and run <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/android-11">Android 11</a> out of the box. A third mode, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/10/oppo-reno5-pro-5g-with-snapdragon-865-to-launch-on-december-24/">Reno5 Pro+ with a Snapdragon 865 processor will launch later this month</a>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-359376" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/mi-watch-lite9.png?x10805" alt="Mi Watch Lite" width="706" height="526" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/mi-watch-lite9.png 706w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/mi-watch-lite9-300x224.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/mi-watch-lite9-80x60.png 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/mi-watch-lite9-265x198.png 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/mi-watch-lite9-485x360.png 485w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/mi-watch-lite9-696x519.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/mi-watch-lite9-564x420.png 564w" sizes="(max-width: 706px) 100vw, 706px" /></p>
<h5><strong>Their watch starts now</strong></h5>
<p>Two new smartwatches were announced last week. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/09/xiaomi-mi-watch-lite-9-days-battery-power-launched-global-market/">Mi Watch Lite</a> arrived first with a striking resemblance to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/26/redmi-watch-launched-as-the-brands-first-smartwatch-priced-at-269-yuan40/">Redmi Watch</a> but with more sports modes, GPS, and longer battery life. boAt, the Indian company which climbed to the 5th spot on IDC&#8217;s list of largest wearable brands in Q3 2020, also announced its latest offering, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/10/boat-enigma-india-launch-price-specs-features/">Enigma</a>. It supports fewer sports modes than the Mi Watch Lite but has a SpO2 sensor and a cheaper price tag.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-355070" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Huawei-MateStation-B515.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei MateStation B515" width="680" height="388" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Huawei-MateStation-B515.jpg 680w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Huawei-MateStation-B515-300x171.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></p>
<p><strong>Huawei enters the desktop PC business</strong></p>
<p><a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/huawei">Huawei</a> announced its first desktop computer, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/08/huawei-matestation-b515-launch-amd-ryzen-4700g/">MateStation B515</a>, last week. The computer is powered by an AMD processor and comes with a 23.8-inch monitor, a mouse, and a keyboard with a built-in fingerprint scanner.</p>

<p>OPPO released a poster showing us what the phone looks like, and it sure looks really nice. The phone will be available in two color variants &#8211; black and a color-shifting blue &#8211; with a luster-like finish. The front, which is not visible in the image is home to a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with a punch hole and a 90Hz refresh rate.</p>
<p>The Reno5 Pro+ will also maintain the lightweight + slim design of its other siblings. its dimensions have been given as 159.9 x 72.5 x 7.99 mm and its weight is 184 grams.</p>

<p>The phone has four rear cameras, one of which is a periscope zoom lens. It has been reported that the Reno5 Pro+ will come with Sony&#8217;s IMX766 50MP sensor as its main camera. It will also have a 16MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera. The selfie camera is said to be a 32MP sensor.</p>
<p>Other specs of the phone that have been leaked are a 4500mAh battery and support for 65W fast charging. It should also run <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/coloros-11">ColorOS 11</a> based on <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/android-11">Android 11</a> out of the box.</p>
<p>We expect the Reno5 Pro+ to be available for pre-order immediately after it launches but we can&#8217;t say if it will go on sale before the year ends or in early January 2021.</p>

The new Reno5 series was announced in China today and it comes along with a pro model.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-359514" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5.jpg?x10805" alt="OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G" width="746" height="405" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5.jpg 746w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-300x163.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-696x378.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 746px) 100vw, 746px" /></p>
<h5><strong>Reno5 Series Design</strong></h5>
<p>The Reno5 series comes with an upgraded design language. OPPO says the new patented process uses a pyramid-like crystal structure for the glass back panel that gives it an extra shine. They have also added an oleophobic coating to reduce smudges. The Galaxy Dream version of the two phones has a color-shifting feature as a result of the different refractive indexes of the thousands of nano-film coating used. OPPO has also added a fluorescent coating to the top of the phone and the camera housing which absorbs light and then glows in the dark.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-359508" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Reno5-glow.gif?x10805" alt="Reno5 glow" width="600" height="338" /></p>
<p>Both phones are also light and thin. The Reno5 is 172 grams with a thickness of 7.9mm while the pro model is 173 grams but is thinner at 7.6mm. The Reno5 and Reno5 Pro will be available in Galaxy Dream, Aurora Blue, and Moonlit Night color variants.</p>
<h5></h5>
<h5><strong>Reno5 5G Specs</strong></h5>
<p>The Reno5 has a flat 6.43-inch <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/OLED">OLED</a> screen with a 2400 x 1080 resolution. The display has a 90Hz refresh rate and a 180Hz touch sampling rate. It has a pixel density of 410 PPI and a peak brightness of 750 nits. There is a hole at the top left corner of the screen for the front-facing camera.</p>
<p>The standard model comes with the same <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-765g">Snapdragon 765G</a> processor as its predecessors &#8211; the Reno4 5G and the Reno4 Pro 5G. Buyers will be able to pick up the phone in two configurations &#8211; an 8GB RAM version with 128GB of storage and a 12GB RAM version with 256GB of storage. The storage type is UFS 2.1 (dual lane) and there is no support for expansion.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-359509" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Reno5-cameras.jpg?x10805" alt="Reno5 cameras" width="638" height="379" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Reno5-cameras.jpg 638w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Reno5-cameras-300x178.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 638px) 100vw, 638px" /></p>
<p>There are four rear cameras on the back of the phone, though we are sure only two of them will get much use. The primary camera is a 64MP f/1.7 sensor with 6P Lens and it comes along with an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide angle camera, a 2MP f/2.4 macro camera, and another 2MP f/2.4 camera for capturing depth details. The selfie camera is a 32MP f/2.4 sensor. There is no OIS but OPPO claims its electronic image stabilization does a good job.</p>
<p>There are a number of interesting camera features bundled with the phone. You can record from both the front and rear cameras at the same time; live HDR for videos even when recording at night; bokeh videos; and a professional portrait photo tool.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-359512" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Reno5-all-colors.jpg?x10805" alt="Reno5 5G all colors" width="998" height="698" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Reno5-all-colors.jpg 998w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Reno5-all-colors-300x210.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Reno5-all-colors-768x537.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Reno5-all-colors-100x70.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Reno5-all-colors-696x487.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Reno5-all-colors-601x420.jpg 601w" sizes="(max-width: 998px) 100vw, 998px" /></p>
<p>The Reno5 5G has a 4300mAh battery and supports 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charging. It is also backward compatible with SuperVOOC and VOOC 3.0 and has support for 18W power delivery and Quick Charge.</p>
<p>Other features are an in-display fingerprint scanner, support for face unlock, dual SIM card (nano only), Bluetooth 5.1, USB-C, and an audio jack. OPPO ships it with ColorOS 11 based on Android 11.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">EDITOR&#8217;S PICK:</span> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/06/oppo-patents-its-own-version-of-the-galaxy-z-flip-but-it-lacks-a-cover-screen/">OPPO patents its own version of the Galaxy Z Flip but it lacks a cover screen</a></strong></p>
<h5><strong>Reno5 Pro 5G</strong></h5>
<p>The Reno5 Pro 5G has a slightly bigger display. It is a 6.55-inch curved OLED panel with the same resolution as the standard variant. It also has a punch hole, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a 120Hz touch sampling rate. Its peak brightness is also much higher at 1100 nits.</p>
<p>OPPO specifically states on the website that the Reno5 phones use displays sourced from different manufacturers, so there may be a difference in the displays of different units due to the varying manufacturing technology. The display supplier is stated on the retail box of the phone.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-359513" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Reno5-Pro-5G-all-colors.jpg?x10805" alt="Reno5 Pro 5G all colors" width="1106" height="696" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Reno5-Pro-5G-all-colors.jpg 1106w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Reno5-Pro-5G-all-colors-300x189.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Reno5-Pro-5G-all-colors-768x483.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Reno5-Pro-5G-all-colors-1024x644.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Reno5-Pro-5G-all-colors-696x438.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Reno5-Pro-5G-all-colors-1068x672.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Reno5-Pro-5G-all-colors-667x420.jpg 667w" sizes="(max-width: 1106px) 100vw, 1106px" /></p>
<p>Unlike the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-reno4-pro-5g/">Reno4 Pro 5G</a> that has a Snapdragon 765G processor, the Reno5 Pro 5G is powered by MediaTek&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/05/07/mediatek-dimensity-1000-announced-with-higher-refresh-rate-support/">Dimensity 1000+</a> processor. It comes in the same configuration as the standard model.</p>
<p>For cameras, OPPO has carried over the exact configuration from the standard model but the 32MP camera has a slightly lower field of view. You also get practically the same camera features.</p>
<p>The Reno5 Pro has multifunctional NFC, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/03/wi-fi-6-explained-all-you-need-to-know-about-the-latest-802-11-ax-standard/">Wi-Fi 6</a>, Bluetooth 5.1, and a USB-C port but skips the audio jack. It has dual SIM support and runs Android 11 out of the box. Its battery capacity is 4350mAh with 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast wired charging along with support for the other charging protocols as the standard model.</p>
<h5><strong>Price and Availability</strong></h5>
<p>The standard model is ¥2699 (~$413) for the 8+128GB version but if you want more RAM and storage, you can pick up the 12+256GB version for ¥2999 (~$458). The Reno5 Pro 5G is priced at ¥3399 (~$519) for the 8+128GB version while the 12+256GB version is ¥3799 (~$580). Both phones will be available for purchase starting December 18 but they can be pre-ordered now.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-359507" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Reno5-Pro-5G-New-Years-Edition.jpg?x10805" alt="Reno5 Pro 5G New Year's Edition" width="561" height="298" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Reno5-Pro-5G-New-Years-Edition.jpg 561w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Reno5-Pro-5G-New-Years-Edition-300x159.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 561px) 100vw, 561px" /></p>
<p>There is a New Year&#8217;s Edition of the Reno5 Pro 5G that has 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage but it will go on sale on December 29.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/05/oppo-pegm00-pegt00-full-specifications-revealed-could-be-launching-soon/">PEGM00’s specs</a> are already known since it has already appeared at TENAA. Its seems that the PEGM00 could be the Snapdragon 765G powered Reno5 smartphone. The PDRM00 phone is yet to get spotted at TENAA. Recently, an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/12/oppo-pdsm00-geekbench-listing-reveals-dimensity-1000-could-it-be-oppo-reno5-pro/">OPPO phone with model number PDSM00</a> had emerged at Geekbench. It had revealed that it is equipped with specs like Dimensity 1000 / 1000+ chipset, 8 GB of RAM, and Android 11 OS. The PDSM00 could be the second phone in the Reno5 series. This suggests that the PDRM00 could be the highest model in the Reno5 lineup powered by the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform.</p>

By the next quarter, we expect <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/oppo">OPPO</a> will announce the Reno5 series as details have begun surfacing. Today, a leak revealed the names of the phones in the series and their respective processors, one of which is a chipset that is yet to launch but that we have heard of before.</p>
<p>The source of the leaker is Really Asen Jun, and according to him, there will be three <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/reno-5">Reno5</a> phones. They are the Reno5, Reno5 Pro, and Reno5 Pro+. Knowing OPPO, these phones may launch under a different name in other markets. The leaker goes on to reveal the chipsets that are expected to power the three phones.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-338101" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/OPPO-Reno5-series.jpg?x10805" alt="OPPO Reno5 series" width="644" height="203" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/OPPO-Reno5-series.jpg 644w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/OPPO-Reno5-series-300x95.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 644px) 100vw, 644px" /></p>
<p>The Reno5 will be powered by the yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 775G. This chipset was expected to be announced in June but it still has not been announced. The Snapdragon 775G should bring new features and a higher processing power than the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-765g">Snapdragon 765G</a> which has turned out to be the go-to chipset for several manufacturers launching mid-range 5G phones.</p>
<p>The Reno5 Pro and Reno5 Pro+ will both feature the Snapdragon 860 Mobile Platform, another processor that is yet-to-be-announced. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/06/qualcomm-may-announce-a-snapdragon-860-processor-chipset/">News of the Snapdragon 860 first surfaced earlier this month</a>, and even then, it was linked to OPPO.</p>
<p>While we know little about these processors, we are pretty sure they will have 5G modems. While OPPO did release 4G variants of the Reno4, we do not think it will do the same for the Reno5 series.</p>
