<p>The world of robot companions just got a little more crowded – and a little more legged. While <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/boston-dynamics">Boston Dynamics</a>&#8216; Spot has dominated the robot dog scene, <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/lenovo">Lenovo </a>has entered the ring with the &#8220;Daystar Bot GS.&#8221;</p>

<h3>The robot dog companion has an extra leg as compared to Boston Dynamics&#8217; Spot</h3>

<p>This robotic canine boasts a similar design to Spot, but with a crucial difference: an extra leg. This additional appendage could potentially enhance the Daystar Bot GS&#8217;s stability and maneuverability, particularly on uneven terrain.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="970" height="728" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/a6d6bc27-3f32-4d6c-b8f7-8daf65ce5baa.webp?x96852" alt="Lenovo Robot Dog" class="wp-image-610614" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/a6d6bc27-3f32-4d6c-b8f7-8daf65ce5baa.webp 970w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/a6d6bc27-3f32-4d6c-b8f7-8daf65ce5baa-300x225.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/a6d6bc27-3f32-4d6c-b8f7-8daf65ce5baa-768x576.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/a6d6bc27-3f32-4d6c-b8f7-8daf65ce5baa-696x522.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/a6d6bc27-3f32-4d6c-b8f7-8daf65ce5baa-560x420.webp 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/a6d6bc27-3f32-4d6c-b8f7-8daf65ce5baa-80x60.webp 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/a6d6bc27-3f32-4d6c-b8f7-8daf65ce5baa-265x198.webp 265w" sizes="(max-width: 970px) 100vw, 970px" /></figure></div>

<p>According to reports, the Daystar Bot GS is built for tackling challenging environments. It boasts &#8220;advanced control systems&#8221; that likely translate to precise movements and navigation. &#8220;Cutting-edge perception algorithms&#8221; suggest the robot dog can interpret its surroundings and react accordingly, while &#8220;IP66 protection&#8221; indicates a level of dust and <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/water-resistance">water resistance</a> crucial for outdoor operation.</p>

<p>Beyond these technical details, the official website, as reported by IT Home, reveals the Daystar Bot GS&#8217;s intended applications. Lenovo seems to be targeting the &#8220;trade, industry and public sectors,&#8221; hinting at potential uses in fields like construction, inspection, and even search and rescue.</p>

<p>While specific details about the Daystar Bot GS&#8217;s functionalities remain under wraps, its launch marks an interesting development in the robot dog market. Whether the extra leg translates to a significant advantage over Spot and other competitors remains to be seen. However, Lenovo&#8217;s entry into this growing field promises to spark further innovation and exploration of the potential applications for robotic companions. The official release date set for later this year will hopefully bring more information about the Daystar Bot GS&#8217;s capabilities.</p>

<p>This AI-powered robot dog is perfect for people who love tech and style. It has a smart black look with white spots. But what really makes it stand out are its eyes. The &#8220;odd eyes&#8221; feature means it can have two different eye colors at the same time. Plus, you can choose from four other eye colors to make your aibo look even cooler.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Sony_Electronics_Inc_ERS_1000_espresso_group_Mid-1024x576.jpg?x96852" alt="Sony aibo Espresso" class="wp-image-605274" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Sony_Electronics_Inc_ERS_1000_espresso_group_Mid-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Sony_Electronics_Inc_ERS_1000_espresso_group_Mid-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Sony_Electronics_Inc_ERS_1000_espresso_group_Mid-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Sony_Electronics_Inc_ERS_1000_espresso_group_Mid-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Sony_Electronics_Inc_ERS_1000_espresso_group_Mid-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Sony_Electronics_Inc_ERS_1000_espresso_group_Mid-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Sony_Electronics_Inc_ERS_1000_espresso_group_Mid.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>But this robot dog isn&#8217;t just about looks. It comes with a three-year plan that helps it learn and develop its own personality. This means the more you hang out with it, the more it acts in a way that&#8217;s special just to you. It learns faces and remembers what makes you happy, making each aibo Espresso Edition a one-of-a-kind friend.</p>

Generally, this kind of maneuverability is only seen in luxury robots. It uses 9 P1S servos to actuate where 8 are for walking joints, while the other is for head panning. Additionally, it can remember tens of instinctive motion patterns and can perform more fancy tricks with real-time instructions.<img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-354553" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Bittle-Robot-Dog-5.gif?x96852" alt="" width="563" height="317" /></span><span data-preserver-spaces="true">The self-assemble design of Bittle further adds to the fun. It features an interlocking frame, similar to a 3D puzzle, with symmetric body parts for simplicity and aesthetics.
