The launch of the highly anticipated watch is due in October. However, the specifications of the watch have already started getting leaked. Last week, it was rumored that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/05/14/pixel-watch-is-powered-by-a-2018-exynos-chip/">smartwatch will be powered by an outdated Exynos 9110 processor</a> and a new report today confirms that the Pixel Watch is actually powered by an Exynos 9110 SoC, but with some help from a second chip.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-459888" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/pixel-watch-featured.png?x96852" alt="Google Pixel Watch" width="1608" height="1074" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/pixel-watch-featured.png 1608w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/pixel-watch-featured-300x200.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/pixel-watch-featured-768x513.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/pixel-watch-featured-1024x684.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/pixel-watch-featured-696x465.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/pixel-watch-featured-1068x713.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/pixel-watch-featured-629x420.png 629w" sizes="(max-width: 1608px) 100vw, 1608px" /></p>
<p>9to5Googe, citing sources, has <a href="https://9to5google.com/2022/05/20/pixel-watch-ram-co-processor-specs/">confirmed</a> that the 2018 Exynos 9110 chipset will indeed power Google&#8217;s first smartwatch, but it will be accompanied by a co-processor meant to relieve the 9110 of some of the load. It is possible that this additional chipset could come with Tensor branding, however, it&#8217;s unclear if <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google/">Google</a> intends to extend its branding to wearables.</p>
<p>Google seems to have taken inspiration from Qualcomm&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-wear-4100/">Snapdragon Wear 4100+</a> SoC which has a main CPU accompanied by a secondary “ultra-low” power co-processor that supports up to 64K colors and powers the always-on display. This takes the load off the main CPU and also helps the watch achieve better battery life.</p>
<p>The publication also reports that Pixel Watch would have 32GB of storage. That’s more storage than any other Wear OS device available on the market. It will be interesting to see how it will be utilized. Moreover, the Pixel watch is also said to surpass every smartwatch in terms of RAM. For reference, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-watch4/">Galaxy Watch 4</a> has 1.5GB of RAM, and Google’s wearable is going to carry slightly more RAM than that.</p>
<figure id="attachment_456407" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-456407" style="width: 970px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-456407" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Google-Pixel-watch-back.jpg?x96852" alt="Google Pixel watch back" width="970" height="728" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Google-Pixel-watch-back.jpg 970w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Google-Pixel-watch-back-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Google-Pixel-watch-back-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Google-Pixel-watch-back-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Google-Pixel-watch-back-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Google-Pixel-watch-back-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Google-Pixel-watch-back-560x420.jpg 560w" sizes="(max-width: 970px) 100vw, 970px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-456407" class="wp-caption-text">Google Pixel watch back | Via: Android Central</figcaption></figure>
<p>As seen above, the sensors on the wearable&#8217;s back appear to be identical to the sensor array used in the Fitbit Luxe and Fitbit Charge 5. The technology in question can monitor heart rate, SpO2 (blood oxygen), and ECG, and since Google owns Fitbit, recycling sensors like this seems only logical.</p>

We have been hearing rumors about the Pixel-brand watch for the last 4 years and Google finally made it official at the I/O 2022. The official launch is still months away and the specifications of the watch are yet to be known. However, there’s a report floating around that reveals some interesting and also surprising information regarding the processor of the watch. The report claims that the Pixel Watch will arrive with a 2018 Exynos processor.</p>
<p><a href="https://9to5google.com/2022/05/13/google-pixel-watch-chip/">9to5Google</a> has learned from its sources that the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/google-pixel-watch">Google Pixel watch</a> will be using Samsung’s Exynos 9110 chip which was first released 4 years ago. The chip debuted with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-watch-active/">Samsung Galaxy Watch</a> in 2018.</p>
<p>Earlier, it was rumoured that the smartwatch would be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/07/16/samsung-galaxy-watch4s-new-exynos-w920-chip-and-larger-storage-tipped/">Samsung Exynos W920</a>, the same processor that powers the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-watch4/">Galaxy Watch 4</a>. This would have given the Pixel Watch an upper edge over its competitors, but it seems like Google chose to self-sabotage itself with a 4-year-old processor from a discontinued watch.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-459890 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/pixel-watch.png?x96852" alt="Google Pixel Watch" width="2022" height="1166" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/pixel-watch.png 2022w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/pixel-watch-300x173.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/pixel-watch-768x443.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/pixel-watch-1024x590.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/pixel-watch-696x401.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/pixel-watch-1068x616.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/pixel-watch-728x420.png 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/pixel-watch-1920x1107.png 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 2022px) 100vw, 2022px" /></p>
<p>It’s definitely disappointing to know that the much-awaited Pixel watch may not land with top of the shelf processor but <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google/">Google</a> may counter this with the latest software improvements. The company has revealed that the watch will be running <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/wearOS/">WearOS</a>, which is expected to give a faster and more fluid experience under the fingers.</p>
<p>Moreover, the watch includes <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/fitbit/">Fitbit</a> tech which adds features like Sleep tracking and heart rate monitoring. It also lets you see active zone minutes, and allows you to track your progress against personal fitness goals.</p>
<p>Google will be launching this watch as a flagship device, which means it will be priced in the higher range. But will you buy it after knowing that it may feature an outdated chipset? Let us know what you think in the comments.</p>
