<p>Samsung has made a few upgrades to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-watch-6/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy Watch 6</a> series smartwatch this year, including a rotating bezel for navigation and a new strap attachment mechanism called the &#8220;One-click system.&#8221; Previously, users had to pull back a pin to attach or detach the strap, but the Galaxy Watch 6 uses a button instead. This makes it easier and faster to change straps, and the new system is also compatible with older smartwatches.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="536" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-6-Strap-design-flaw-1024x536.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Strap design flaw" class="wp-image-565012" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-6-Strap-design-flaw-1024x536.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-6-Strap-design-flaw-300x157.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-6-Strap-design-flaw-768x402.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-6-Strap-design-flaw-696x364.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-6-Strap-design-flaw-1068x559.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-6-Strap-design-flaw-803x420.jpg 803w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-6-Strap-design-flaw.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>However, some <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/07/26/samsung-galaxy-watch-6-series-debuts/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy Watch 6 series </a>owners have reported that the new straps can be accidentally detached. As highlighted by <em><a href="https://www.sammobile.com/news/be-careful-your-new-galaxy-watch-6-strap-does-not-fall-off/">Sammobile</a></em>, a <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyWatch/comments/15qjnoj/does_anyone_have_issues_with_the_watch_6_classic/?rdt=399517r" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Reddit thread</a> has been gaining traction with users pointing out how the new one-click strap mechanism on the Galaxy Watch 6 series is a design fault.</p>

<h3><strong>Some Galaxy Watch 6 Strap Design Flaw</strong></h3>

<p>For users with pronounced wrist bones, the new strap’s quick-release button can be accidentally pressed, causing the strap to detach from the watch. This has led to some watches falling off people&#8217;s wrists, especially during exercise.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/011-family-galaxy-watch6-40mm-graphite-gold-44mm-graphite-silver-731x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="" /></figure></div>

<p>A video posted on YouTube <em>(linked below)</em> shows how the quick-release button can be pressed by the wrist bone, especially if the watch is worn snugly and lower than the wrist bone. Some users have suggested that the watch should be worn above the wrist bone, but others say that this is not always possible or comfortable.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<iframe loading="lazy" title="Samsung Watch 6 classic / Watch 6 serious issue!!!" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/TfoT_zB9-uo?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe>
</div></figure>

<p>Samsung has not yet commented on the issue, but there are a few things that users can do to prevent their watches from falling off. One is to wear the watch looser, which will make it less likely that the quick-release button will be pressed. Another is to use a different strap with a pin-based mechanism. Thankfully, you can use<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-watch-5/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Galaxy Watch 5’s</a> pin-based strap as it&#8217;s supported for Watch 6 too. </p>

<p>Also, if you are considering buying the Galaxy Watch 6, it may be a good idea to try on the watch in a physical store before you buy it. This will give you a chance to test the new strap mechanism and see if it is comfortable for you.</p>
