<p>While the smartphones from the tech giant come with a limited one-year warranty, it does not cover accidental damages. And the most likely part of the phone to get damaged is the display or screen. So, the company has now officially revealed the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/screen-replacement">screen replacement</a> cost of the newly launched iPhone 12 models.</p>

<p>Apple has confirmed that the screen repair for the iPhone 12 will cost $279 in the United States, which is the same cost applicable for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-12-pro/">iPhone 12 Pro</a> as well. In China, the company will be charging 2,149 yuan, which is about $321.</p>
<p>So far, the company has not revealed the screen replacement or repair cost for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iphone-12">iPhone 12</a> Mini and the iPhone 12 Pro Max variants.</p>
<p>However, if you have purchased the AppleCare+ protection plan, then it covers the screen repair cost and you&#8217;ll just have to pay the service fee which is $29 in the USA. The pricing for the AppleCare+ starts at $149 for the iPhone 12 and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-12-mini/">12 Mini</a> models while for the Pro models, it increases by $50.  All one-time AppleCare+ plan offers coverage for two years.</p>

<p>Now, weeks after the device is available for purchase in the market, the Chinese giant has now announced pricing for repairing and different parts of the smartphone. Among all of them, the screen replacement is the costliest.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-237958 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Huawei-Mate-X-featured.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei Mate X featured" width="720" height="420" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Huawei-Mate-X-featured.jpg 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Huawei-Mate-X-featured-300x175.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></p>
<p>While it makes sense that the screen replacement is the costliest given that the smartphone has a foldable display, but the pricing is very high. However, there are times when your large screen smartphone decides to just slip out of your hand and hit the ground. It&#8217;s not something anyone would want for their phones, but it happens sometimes and when your phone is brand new and costs nearly $600, things can&#8217;t get worse.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>

<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/mate-9-broken-02.jpg?x10805'><img width="225" height="300" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/mate-9-broken-02-225x300.jpg?x10805" class="attachment-medium size-medium" alt="mate 8 broken screen" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/mate-9-broken-02-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/mate-9-broken-02.jpg 580w" sizes="(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px" /></a>
<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Mate-9-broken-03.jpg?x10805'><img width="225" height="300" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Mate-9-broken-03-225x300.jpg?x10805" class="attachment-medium size-medium" alt="mate 9 broken screen" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Mate-9-broken-03-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Mate-9-broken-03.jpg 580w" sizes="(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px" /></a>

<p>Recently, one of the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-9/">Huawei Mate 9</a> users in China had such an unfortunate moment. A user recently revealed on social media that his Mate 9&#8217;s screen cracked when it fell on the ground. While this was bad, what was even worse was that he had bought this expensive 4499 Yuan ($655) flagship (6GB + 128GB) just 12 hours before this incident happened.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/mate-9-screen-insurance.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-107433" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/mate-9-screen-insurance.png?x10805" alt="mate 9 screen insurance" width="580" height="1031" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/mate-9-screen-insurance.png 580w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/mate-9-screen-insurance-169x300.png 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/mate-9-screen-insurance-576x1024.png 576w" sizes="(max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px" /></a></p>
<p>Now usually, you would have to shell out a few hundred dollars replacing the cracked screen on your brand new smartphone, but Huawei Mate 9 users in China need not fret. Huawei is offering Mate 9 users free screen replacement insurance for three months from the date of purchase. So, if you happen to drop your Mate 9 within three months accidentally, the company will offer you a free screen replacement, which sounds like a great deal.</p>

<p>Considering you are shelling out nearly $600 for a smartphone, it&#8217;s good to see Huawei taking care of its customers after their purchase.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
