The phone is meant to take on the super cheap smartphones that retail for less than 1000 Yuan (~$150) which means the 6T will compete with a couple of popular <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi/">Xiaomi</a> phones in this segment. Despite its sub-1000 Yuan placement, the phone isn&#8217;t all about budget hardware. There are a few features that makes it stand apart from the competition and let&#8217;s take a look at them in detail down below.</p>
<figure id="attachment_193541" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-193541" style="width: 727px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Screenshot-2018-5-29-Blue-Charm-Meizu-store-6T-.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-193541" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Screenshot-2018-5-29-Blue-Charm-Meizu-store-6T-.png?x10805" alt="Meizu M6T" width="727" height="711" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Screenshot-2018-5-29-Blue-Charm-Meizu-store-6T-.png 727w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Screenshot-2018-5-29-Blue-Charm-Meizu-store-6T--300x293.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 727px) 100vw, 727px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-193541" class="wp-caption-text">Meizu M6T</figcaption></figure>
<p>The Meizu M6T is powered by the MediaTek MT6750 chipset. Personally, I would have preferred something like the SD450 on board, similar to the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-5/"> Xiaomi Redmi 5</a> but it should still be good enough for powering a budget device. There are three storage variants available: 3+32GB, 4+32GB, and 4+64GB. Further, the back is polycarbonate and looks pretty premium for a low-end device. The dual cameras are arranged vertically at the center with the flash above and the fingerprint sensor below. I believe this is the first time Meizu has decided to go with a rear placed fingerprint sensor. Overall, the M6T is a good looking budget phone and personally, I would prefer it over Redmi 5&#8217;s back design. You get three color options, black, champagne gold, and a red one too!</p>
[envira-gallery id=&#8221;193543&#8243;]
<p>The display is pretty big at 5.7-inches and there&#8217;s a decent HD+ 1440 x 720p resolution too, so it conforms to the recent 18:9 display trend. But what makes the Meizu M6T really special among its peers is the presence of a dual camera setup at the back. The setup is just basic with a 13MP + 2MP IMX278 RGBW setup, said to be good for bokeh portraits. The front features an 8MP f/2.0 shooter with ArcSoft beauty algorithms. Overall, the M6T boasts a better camera setup than the Redmi 5.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/meizu-m6t-1.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-193540" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/meizu-m6t-1.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="1240" height="1308" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/meizu-m6t-1.jpg 1240w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/meizu-m6t-1-284x300.jpg 284w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/meizu-m6t-1-768x810.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/meizu-m6t-1-971x1024.jpg 971w" sizes="(max-width: 1240px) 100vw, 1240px" /></a></p>
<p>Another highlight of the Meizu M6T is the presence of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/super-mback/">Super mBack</a> button. Its not really a physical button, but this one button can take care of all of your navigation needs. First seen on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-m6-s-smartphone-full-specification-and-features/">Meizu M6S</a>, now it&#8217;s present on almost all of the company&#8217;s recent phones. Inside, the phone has a 3300mAh battery with 5V 1.5A charging, which isn&#8217;t exactly fast charge, but decent enough for a budget device. Other features include infrared sensor, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi n, and support for <span class="">TDD-LTE B34/B38/B39/B40/B41, and </span>FDD-LTE B1/B3/B8.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Screenshot-2018-5-29-Blue-Charm-Meizu-store-6T-1.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-193539" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Screenshot-2018-5-29-Blue-Charm-Meizu-store-6T-1.png?x10805" alt="" width="744" height="540" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Screenshot-2018-5-29-Blue-Charm-Meizu-store-6T-1.png 744w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Screenshot-2018-5-29-Blue-Charm-Meizu-store-6T-1-300x218.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 744px) 100vw, 744px" /></a></p>
<p>For a starting price of 799 Yuan ($125), the Meizu M6T looks like a winner. If you want better variants, you&#8217;ll have to shell out 999 Yuan ($155) for 4GB + 32GB and 1099 Yuan ($171) for 4GB + 64GB variants respectively. Note that the storages are expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD.</p>

The reaction wasn&#8217;t surprising because mBack was often considered one of the best ways to navigate the phone and losing such an important feature was never going to go well with the company&#8217;s fans. However, little did we know that Meizu had a big surprise for us. Well, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/01/16/meizu-mblu-s6-will-bring-just-189-full-screen-design/">they did tease us that they had a surprise</a>, but we weren&#8217;t expecting a next generation version of the mBack, which the company is calling the Super mBack. Some even call it the Halo button.</p>
<figure id="attachment_167732" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-167732" style="width: 1200px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/meizu-m6s-featured.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-167732" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/meizu-m6s-featured.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu m6s featured" width="1200" height="830" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/meizu-m6s-featured.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/meizu-m6s-featured-300x208.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/meizu-m6s-featured-768x531.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/meizu-m6s-featured-1024x708.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-167732" class="wp-caption-text">Credits: Ard Boudeling, Meizu</figcaption></figure>
<p>Regardless of its name, the button incorporates all of the features of the mBack button with the help of a small halo circle on the screen. It looks easy to use and in the first demo that we saw, the usage felt pretty simple and natural.</p>
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en">
<p dir="ltr" lang="en">By implementing a pressure sensor below the display, we are able to offer all mBack features in our new Halo button. <a href="https://t.co/rGp8OxydAv">pic.twitter.com/rGp8OxydAv</a></p>

<p><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p>For making this work, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi/">Meizu </a>has added a pressure sensor chip below the display along with a linear vibration motor. The tech seems to be from NextInput, a company focused on force sensing solution for touch displays. Considering there&#8217;s a vibration motor below the display, the gestures should give good feedback as well, making them feel more natural.</p>
<p>Meizu&#8217;s Head of Global Marketing, Ard Boudeling was kind enough to give us all a demo of the Super mBack halo button on twitter.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en">
<p dir="ltr" lang="en">Here&#8217;s a quick demo. <a href="https://t.co/RQmdz7rXrT">pic.twitter.com/RQmdz7rXrT</a></p>

<p><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p>And these are gestures.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en">
<p dir="ltr" lang="en">Our new Halo button implements all mBack features, and more.</p>
<p>&#8211; Touch to go back.<br />
&#8211; Press to go home.<br />
&#8211; Long-press to sleep.<br />
&#8211; Swipe left/right to switch apps.<br />
&#8211; Swipe up to multitask.</p>
<p>And one last gesture&#8230; Can anyone guess?</p>
<p>— Ard Boudeling (@ArdCB) <a href="https://twitter.com/ArdCB/status/953536546820501504?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 17, 2018</a></p></blockquote>
<p><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Finally, if you don&#8217;t like the new Super mBack Halo button, you can always switch back to the default Android navigation buttons.</p>
<p>Once again, it looks like Meizu has done a fine job in making navigation on its smartphones super easy.</p>
<p>What do you think?</p>
