It’s that time of the year when companies flood the market with flagship smartphones. Last month, we predicted that a few of the gaming devices would arrive early but they missed the Feb launch time frame. However, many of them have confirmed their arrival in March and now we are back with the Upcoming Smartphones: March 2021 edition.

As usual, we have a variety of launches scheduled from Asus, Redmi, realme, Nubia, Meizu, OPPO, OnePlus, and more.

Let’s take a look a quick look at the list of confirmed/expected smartphone launches for this month.

 Meizu 18 series

After deciding to stick to flagships going forward, Meizu is bringing the Meizu 18, Meizu 18 Pro to China on March 3. The Meizu 18 series will feature a 6.2-inch OLED curved FHD+ display while the ‘Pro’ will have a QHD+ panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, the base variant is expected to feature Snapdragon 870 chipset while the ‘Pro’ will feature the Snapdragon 888. Other specs include LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, 4,000mAh(Meizu 18) with 36W charging, and 4,500mAh(Meizu 18 Pro) batteries with 45W charging, 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, cameras up to 50MP lens.

Vivo S9, S9e

Vivo will launch the Vivo S9 in China on March 3. So far, it is said that the device features a 90Hz AMOLED display, MediaTek Dimensity 1100 5G chipset, triple-cameras with a 64-megapixel main sensor.

Other expected specs include RAM up to 12GB, 4100mAh battery that supports 33W Flashcharge, 44MP selfie shooter, Android 11 OS.

A Vivo S9e will also debut alongside the Vivo S9. This watered-down sibling will have a 32MP selfie camera, MediaTek Dimensity 820 chipset, 8 GB of RAM, and a 4,100mAh battery with 33W fast charging.

Samsung Galaxy M62, Galaxy A32 4G

Samsung already launched the Galaxy F62 in India. However, this device with a few tweaks will launch in other markets (Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia) on March 3.

Accordingly, the Galaxy M62 will feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display,  Exynos 9825 chipset, 8GB RAM/128GB Storage, 64MP Quad-cameras, 32MP selfie shooter, 7,000mAh battery with 25W charging.

The Galaxy A32 4G has already landed in Russia and will go on sale in India from March 5. This device sports 6GB RAM/128GB storage, 6.4-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ Infinity-U display,  MediaTek Helio G80 chipset, 64MP Quad-cameras, 20MP selfie camera, 5,000mAh battery with 15W charging.

RedMagic 6

Nubia will unveil the RedMagic 6 in China on March 4. The device will have a lot of gaming-focused features like an OLED display with a 160Hz refresh rate, up to 500Hz touch sampling rate, shoulder buttons with a 400Hz touch sampling rate on the sides, air and liquid cooling system.

Under the hood, the RedMagic 6 will boast Snapdragon 888 chipset, triple-cameras, 4,500mAh battery with 120W charging support. The device will also be the first RedMagic to launch with a ‘Tencent Games’ logo as a result of a strategic partnership. We’ll also get a new RedMagic smartwatch alongside this phone.

realme GT

realme will launch the realme GT in China on the same day as Nubia, i.,e on March 4 (Thursday). The device will launch in regular Glass model and White/Yellow Leather Editions. It will also be the company’s performance flagship with a stainless steel VC cooling system.

As for Specs, it will feature an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 888 chipset, LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage. Other specs include Triple cameras with 64MP main, and a pair of 13MP auxiliary sensors, 65W charging support, 3.5mm audio jack, Android 11 OS, and an aggressive price of below 2,999 yuan($465).

Redmi Note 10 series

Xiaomi has already confirmed that it will bring the Redmi Note 10 series to India and other Global markets on March 4. The series will likely have three devices- Redmi Note 10, Redmi Note 10 Pro, and Redmi Note 10 Pro Max.

As for Specs, the base Redmi Note 10 will likely feature a 6.43-inch AMOLED DotDisplay, Snapdragon 678 chipset, 48MP Quad cameras, 5,000mAh battery with 33W charging. The  ‘Pro’ and ‘Pro Max’ models are expected to feature a Snapdragon 732G 4G and Snapdragon 768G 5G chipsets respectively.

Other expected features of the Redmi Note 10 Pro would be 64MP quad-cameras, 5,050mAh battery, 6/8GB RAM, 64/128GB storage. It’s not clear if the ‘Pro Max’ will opt for an LCD panel to cut down the costs as the device is likely to boast 5G connectivity support, a huge 108MP camera sensor, 120Hz refresh rate display.

The Note 10 series will probably have the dual-speakers, IR blaster, 3.5mm audio jack, run MIUI 12 based on Android 11. The base variant will get White, Green, and Black colors while the Note 10 Pro will get Blue, Bronze, and Gray, and the top-of-the-line Pro Max Blue, Black, and Bronze options.

ASUS ROG Phone 5

ASUS will launch the fourth-gen ROG Phone 5 worldwide on March 10. The device will likely come in two versions one of which will have a special Dot-Matrix LED array on the back.

In terms of Specs, the ROG Phone 5 will feature a 6.78-inch OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 888 chipset, up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, dual-speakers, 3.5mm audio jack, Triple-cameras with 64MP main sensor, 6,000mAh battery with 65W charging.

OPPO Find X3 series

OPPO has confirmed that it will reveal the Find X3 series on March 11. The company is expected to reveal Find X3, Find X3 Pro in addition to Find X3 Neo and Find X3 Lite. The first two will likely launch in China while OPPO will bring the ‘Pro’, Neo, and Lite globally.

OPPO Find X3, X3 Pro

Expected specs for the OPPO Find X3 series include a 6.78-inch OLED punch-hole display with QHD+ resolution, 10-bit colors, and refresh rate up to 120Hz. The base variant will likely have the Snapdragon 870 while the ‘Pro’ feature  Snapdragon 888 chipset.

Other possible features of Find X3 Pro include a 4,500mAh battery with 65W SuperVOOC charging, 12GB RAM, 256GB storage.

For cameras, it will have Quad-cameras with Sony IMX766 50MP wide-angle, a Sony IMX766 50MP ultrawide, a 13MP Telephoto with 2x optical, and a 5MP macro and 32MP Sony IMX766 selfie shooter.

The rear layout is capable of 4K video at 60fps, 5x Hybrid, and 20x digital zoom.

OPPO Find X3 Neo, Find X3 Lite

OPPO Find X3 Neo will feature a 6.5-inch 90Hz FHD+ AMOLED display, Snapdragon 865 chipset, Quad Cameras with 50MP+16MP+13MP+2MP lenses, 12GB RAM/256GB storage, 32MP front camera, 4,500mAh battery with 65W charging.

The Find X3 Lite, on the other hand, will have a 6.44-inch 90Hz FHD+ AMOLED panel, Snapdragon 765G chipset, 8GB RAM/128GB storage, 4,300mAh battery with 65W charging, Quad-cameras with 64MP+8MP+2MP+2MP setup, 32MP selfie shooter.

iQOO Neo5

iQOO recently confirmed that it will bring the iQOO Neo5 to China on March 16. The device will succeed the iQOO Neo3 from 2020.

Leaks so far say that the iQOO Neo5 will feature an AMOLED FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 870 chipset, paired with up to 12GB DDR5 RAM, 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

Other expected specs include a rear Triple-camera setup with a 48MP Sony IMX 598 main lens, a 13MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP sensor, 4,400mAh battery with 66W FlashCharge support, SA/NSA 5G, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, and Android 11 OS.

OnePlus 9 series

Probably the last and biggest confirmed(almost) launch of the month could be the OnePlus 9 series. The devices are expected to launch around the last week of March(Mar. 23). And the company has already started teasing it.

The series so far is expected to include OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, and a possible OnePlus 9R. The OnePlus 9 will feature a 6.55-inch Flat AMOLED 120Hz FHD+ display while the Pro will have a 6.78-inches QHD+ panel.

Both will likely feature Snapdragon 888 chipset paired with up to 12GB RAM, 256GB storage, 4,500mAh battery with 65W charging, Android 11 OS.The OnePlus 9 Pro will get a special treatment to Quad-cameras(48MP + 50MP + 8MP + 2MP) like 4K video at 120fps, 8K at 30fps thanks to the Hasselblad partnership.

However, the non-Pro will have a Triple-Cameras with 48MP Sony IMX689, and a 48MP ultra-wide lens, 16MP selfie shooter.

Besides, things are a bit clumsy with respect to the third OnePlus 9 device as some fake leaks are circling around. So far it is said to be called OnePlus 9R and tipped to feature Snapdragon 865 chipset and sale for around $600.

There’s also a OnePlus smartwatch expected alongside the flagships.

Other Expected launches

• Samsung Galaxy A52, A72

  • Samsung is geared up to refresh the Ax series in 2021. The South Korean giant will bring the Galaxy A52, A72 most probably this month(without delays). Thanks to leaked info we know that A52 is coming in 4G/5G variants while the A72 is limited to 4G.

• OPPO F19 Pro, F19 Pro+ 5G

  • OPPO has started teasing the OPPO F19 Pro and F19 Pro+ 5G on Amazon India. Rumored specs of OPPO F19 Pro are  6.4-inch AMOLED punch-hole display, MediaTek Helio P95 chipset, 48MP Quad cameras, 16MP selfie, 4,310mAh battery with 30W charging and sell around ₹20,000.
  • The OPPO F19 Pro+ is said to be a 5G smartphone with the same size as above,  Dimensity 800U chipset, 64MP quad-cameras, 32MP selfie shooter, 4,500mAh battery with 30W charging.

• Motorola G10, G30, G50, G100

  • Motorola is expected to bring a whole new G-series of devices in 2021. Of this, the Motorola G10, G30, G50, G100 are said to debut very soon and it could be this month.
  • Moto G10 and G30 are already official and are heading to India this month. The G50, G100 are said to be 5G devices where the G50 is the leaked ‘Ibiza‘ and the G100 is likely the rebadged Motorola Edge S for Global markets.

• POCO X3 Pro

  • POCO is said to launch a ‘Pro’ variant of the X3 Pro in India this month. The device may feature a Snapdragon 855/855+ chipset, 48MP Quad-cameras, Wi-Fi 5GHz,  MIUI 12 out of the box.

• Vivo X60 series, iQOO 7

  • Vivo is expected to launch about 11 smartphones before the end of April in India. And the X60 series could debut here and Globally(with a few tweaks) in March. Interestingly, the Vivo X50 Pro+ from last year will likely accompany the launch in India.
  • iQOO 7 is rumored to bring two more devices to India in March 2021. And one of them could be the iQOO 7 as it has already appeared on Geekbench.

• Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro

  • Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro is expected to debut with features like 6.81-inch 2K quad-curved 120Hz display, Snapdragon 888 chipset, Triple-cameras with Samsung ISOCELL GN2 50MP main lens, a Periscope Telephoto sensor(up to 120X digital zoom), 5,000mAh battery with a rumored 67W wireless charging.

Recent reports have claimed that Vivo is working on the Vivo S9 5G smartphone. It is expected to replace the selfie-focused Vivo S7 5G smartphone from last year. While Vivo is yet to release any confirmation on the existence of the Vivo S9 5G through its social channels in China, a recent leak claimed that the Vivo S9 5G will break cover on March 6. Over the weekend, a reliable tipster shared an offline poster of the Vivo S9 series to reveal its rear design.

The new poster confirms that the Vivo S9 5G will have a 44-megapixel front-facing camera. Speculations are rife that the handset will have a notched screen like the Vivo S7 5G and it will inherit its 44-megapixel (main) + 8-megapixel (ultrawide) dual selfie camera system.

The image reveals that the Vivo S9 5G’s rear design is almost identical to the Vivo S7 5G. A rectangle camera module featuring a triple camera system can be seen on the back panel. Since the machine-translated text reads “S9 series,” it appears that Vivo S9 5G could be accompanied by another handset.

The tipster added that the major highlight of the Vivo S9 5G is that it will be featuring the world’s first 6nm chipset. Past reports have revealed that the Vivo S9 5G will be equipped with the Dimensity 1100 5G chipset which went official last month, a 64-megapixel primary camera, and a 90Hz display.

It seems that the Vivo V2072A phone that was recently seen at the Google Play Console and China’s 3C certification platform could be the Vivo S9 5G phone. These listings revealed that the handset is equipped with specs like a Full HD+ display, 12 GB of RAM, Dimensity 1100 chipset, Android 11 OS, around 4,000mAh battery, and 33W fast charging. If the Vivo S9 5G is truly set to launch on March 6, the Chinese manufacturer may soon start teasing its arrival in the coming days.

Today, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station shared key specs of an upcoming smartphone. The leak suggests that he could be talking about the Vivo S9 5G smartphone.

Recently, a Vivo phone with model number V2072A was seen at the Google Play Console. It revealed that the device this Vivo phone is powered by the Dimensity 1100 (MT6891 model number). It is speculated that this device will hit the Chinese markets as the Vivo S9 5G. The listing also revealed that the device has a 1080 x 2400 pixels FHD+ display, 12 GB of RAM and Android 11 OS. The image of the phone that appeared at the Google Play Console revealed that it has a wide notch for two front-facing cameras.

A Chinese tipster recently claimed that the Dimensity 1100 powered Vivo S9 5G has a 6.44-inch notch display and a 44-megapixel dual selfie camera setup. The handset was spotted at the 3C certification platform yesterday with a 33W rapid charger.

Today’s leak reveals that the alleged Vivo S9 5G has a 90Hz refresh rate supporting OLED panel. Vivo has offered AMOLED panels on the predecessor S-series phones. However, it appears that the S9 will be the S-lineup phone to arrive with a higher refresh rate supporting screen.

Vivo is reportedly working on a new selfie-focused phone called Vivo S9 5G. It is speculated that the V2072A phone that was recently seen at the Google Play Console could be the forthcoming Vivo S9 5G smartphone. Today, the handset received certification from the 3C authority of China. The 3C listing (via) is a good hint that the smartphone will debut soon in the home market.

The 3C certification of the purported Vivo S9 5G revealed that it could be coming with a V339K9V90-CN charger that produces up to 33W charging speeds. The listing also states that it is a 5G phone.

The Google Play Console listing of the V2072A carried an image of the device. It revealed that its screen has a wide notch, which indicated that it could be equipped with two front-facing cameras like the Vivo S7 5G. The listing further revealed that the screen supports a 1080 x 2400 pixels Full HD+ resolution and a 408ppi pixel density.

The Dimensity 1100 chipset which went official last month may drive the alleged Vivo S9 5G. It may come with 12 GB of RAM and Android 11 OS. The other specs of the phone are under wraps.

A recent leak revealed that the Vivo S9 5G has a 6.4-inch screen and its dual selfie camera setup has a 44-megapixel primary camera. The handset may break cover on March 6. At present, there is no word on the pricing of the Vivo S9 5G.
