Both the Xiaomi 12 Pro and the OnePlus 10 Pro come with similar components like their chipset and displays. However, the OnePlus flagship appeared to have performed woefully when it went through the durability tests. On the other hand, the Xiaomi flagship seems to have weathered the storm in the new video, coming out pretty fine.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/xiaomi-12-pro-teardown.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-458244" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/xiaomi-12-pro-teardown.png?x44794" alt="Xiaomi 12 Pro durability test" width="1920" height="1010" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/xiaomi-12-pro-teardown.png 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/xiaomi-12-pro-teardown-300x158.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/xiaomi-12-pro-teardown-768x404.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/xiaomi-12-pro-teardown-1024x539.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/xiaomi-12-pro-teardown-696x366.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/xiaomi-12-pro-teardown-1068x562.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/xiaomi-12-pro-teardown-798x420.png 798w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /></a></p>
<p>Zach Nelson released the latest version of his JerryRigEverything video featuring the Xiaomi 12 Pro. It performed well in most of the stages including scratches (level 6), burn, and bend tests. The burn test produced a white mark on the 12 Pro’s OLED display, The razor scraping revealed that the branding on one side of the device for its quad stereo showed susceptibility to heavy wear and tear.</p>
<p>One of the most rigorous tests in the JerryRigEverything video is the bend test. A device could possibly unravel under the bending process. However, the Xiaomi 12 Pro earned its stripes over the OnePlus 10 Pro in this area. It has to be noted that the 12 Pro remained intact when a bend from the back was attempted. It however emitted some clicking noises in all the instances it withstood the back bending. The screen of the device remained on during the entire process and was seemingly unaffected overall.</p>

<p>In comparing the optics of the two devices in the JerryRigEverything tests, the Xiaomi 12 Pro fared better than the OnePlus 10 Pro across several segments. The two smartphones are 2022 flagship models from Xiaomi and OnePlus respectively. They are both powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.</p>

The premium flagship series is yet to even go on sale but a Chinese blogger has posted a video teardown/review of the Pro model on China&#8217;s top video-sharing website Bilibili.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/xiaomi-12-3-1.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-434065" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/xiaomi-12-3-1.png?x44794" alt="Xiaomi 12 Pro teardown" width="869" height="475" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/xiaomi-12-3-1.png 869w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/xiaomi-12-3-1-300x164.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/xiaomi-12-3-1-768x420.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/xiaomi-12-3-1-696x380.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 869px) 100vw, 869px" /></a></p>
<p>The video provides us with our first look at the internals of the 12 Pro. There is no doubt that the Xiaomi 12 Pro comes with a top-notch design just like the rest of the lineup. The teardown also shows the device equally features well-arranged internals. The device retains a sandwich structure with a three-stage design after the rear cover is removed. Xiaomi also included a heat dissipation film, a copper foil, and silicone grease, as well as a 2900mm2 super VC soaking plate to ensure the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 doesn&#8217;t allow the device to heat up excessively.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/xiaomi-12-1.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-434059" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/xiaomi-12-1.png?x44794" alt="Xiaomi 12 Pro" width="700" height="440" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/xiaomi-12-1.png 700w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/xiaomi-12-1-300x189.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/xiaomi-12-1-696x437.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/xiaomi-12-1-668x420.png 668w" sizes="(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></a></p>
<p>The Mi 12 Pro is the first smartphone to pack a Sony IMX 707 sensor with 7P+ Optical image stabilization and we get to see the sensor for the first time. Also, the device features a 50MP Samsung JN1 sensor which is a portrait lens and a 50MP ultra-wide angle sensor.</p>
<p>In terms of flash memory and RAM, the teardown video shows that both the LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash storage are supplied by SK Hynix.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/xiaomi-12-2.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-434060" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/xiaomi-12-2.png?x44794" alt="Xiaomi 12 Pro" width="955" height="493" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/xiaomi-12-2.png 955w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/xiaomi-12-2-300x155.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/xiaomi-12-2-768x396.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/xiaomi-12-2-696x359.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/xiaomi-12-2-814x420.png 814w" sizes="(max-width: 955px) 100vw, 955px" /></a></p>
<p>Another impressive hardware feature spotted on the teardown video is the four-unit crossover speakers (high + low) arranged diagonally up and down. At the same time, the X-axis linear motor is also a circle larger than those on most Android phones with a vibration comparable to that of the iPhone. The device is also shown to feature a more expensive ultra-thin under-display fingerprint solution.</p>
