A new Xiaomi Bluetooth selfie stick was announced today. This is Xiaomi’s third selfie stick. Its first selfie stick was released last year and was followed by a Bluetooth tripod selfie stick with a dedicated remote this year.

The new Xiaomi Bluetooth selfie stick improves upon last year’s model by throwing in Bluetooth connectivity instead of using a 3.5mm connector.

The selfie stick maintains the same rugged build as its predecessors. The stick is built of anodized aluminium alloy and has a rubber grip. When extended it measures 70cm, and 18cm when folded. It is also pretty light at 133g. The bracket can be rotated up to 270° and does well in keeping your phone in place.

Xiaomi doesn’t state the battery capacity of the selfie stick but says there is a LED light that lets you know the battery level. When it flashes red, then the stick needs to be recharged. A static red light means it is charging and a static blue light means it is full.

The selfie stick will also automatically enter a sleep mode if no connection is detected after 10 minutes. A short press of the camera key will wake it up from sleep mode.

The Xiaomi Bluetooth Selfie Stick comes in white and black and will sell for ¥79 (~$12). It will be available on JD.com.
