In November 2019, Xiaomi had introduced the 55-inch, 65-inch and 75-inch Xiaomi Mi TV 5 models. On the same day, their Pro variants were also made official. While the 55-inch and 65-inch Mi TV 5 Pro and non-Pro models have been on sale in China, the company did not release the 75-inch Pro and non-Pro models in the market. Xiaomi today confirmed that the 75-inch Mi TV 5 and its Pro sibling will be made available for purchase for the first time from March 13 in China.

The above poster confirms that the 75-inch Xiaomi Mi TV 5 Pro and non-Pro edition will go on sale this Friday in the home market. The 75-inch Xiaomi Mi TV 5 is priced at 7,999 Yuan (~$1,153) and the 75-inch Mi TV 5 Pro costs 9,999 Yuan (~$1,440).

The Xiaomi Mi TV Pro 75-inch edition features a 4K quantum dot screen with support for 106 percent NTSC color gamut. It can playback 8K content. The HDR10+ complaint is equipped with a MEMC chip and it has 4 GB of RAM and 65 GB of storage. The Pro model promises a screen-to-body ratio of 97 percent and it comes with a metal body that has a thickness of only 10.9mm.

The 12nm processor powers the Mi TV 5 Pro 75-inch model and it is equipped with far-field voice recognition along with support for Xiao AI voice assistant. The big TV can as a smart home control center and it features an AI driven PatchWall interface.

The 75-inch models will sell alongside the 55-inch and 65-inch Pro and non-Pro Xiaomi Mi TV 5 models. The 55-inch Mi TV 5 was introduced with a price tag of 2,999 Yuan (~$432) while its Pro version had a price tag of 3,699 Yuan (~$533) at launch. The 65-inch was made official with 3,999 Yuan (~$576) pricing and its 65-inch Mi TV 5 Pro costed 4,999 Yuan (~$720) at launch.

Xiaomi has established its presence in the market as a powerful TV manufacturer and is also ranking as number one in the smart TV category in China. The company is currently gearing up to release the new Mi TV 5 series in its home market on 5th November.

Ahead of its official launch, the company has been revealing details about the upcoming Smart TV. In the latest development, Xiaomi has now released details related to the design of the Mi TV 5.

The company has now confirmed that the Mi TV 5 will come with a more comprehensive full-screen design. The bezel surrounding the screen panel will be 47.1 percent narrower compared to the Mi TV 4, measuring just 1.8mm.

Further, Xiaomi has revealed that the metal-body Smart TV will come with a integrated bending frame, back plate without screws, and will have a body thickness of just 5.9mm.

Earlier, the company had shed light about the specifications of the Mi TV 5. It had revealed that the product will come powered by a 12nm T972 chipset with support for 8K video recording which is claimed to be 63 percent higher than the previous-generation CPU.

The Mi TV 5 also comes packed with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage to ensure smoother performance. It is confirmed to come with a 4K QLED panel covering NTSC 108% wide color gamut.

The Quantum Dot panel is likely to be supplied by Samsung who dominates this industry. The current generation Mi TV 4 series comes with either LCD or LED panels, so with the Mi TV 5 series, it seems that Xiaomi is looking to enter the premium segment.

The company had previously shared a teaser image of the upcoming Mi TV 5, giving us a glimpse of the right side of the device, wherein we can see the ‘Designed by Xiaomi’ text. Apart from its slim form factor, there isn’t much we can pick up from this image.

Along with this new Smart TV, the company is also set to launch a bunch of other products at the 5th November event in China, including Mi CC9 Pro smartphone, Xiaomi Smartwatch, Xiaomi’s Mi Portable Air Conditioner, among others.

The side of the alleged Mi TV 5 carries “Designed By Xiaomi” branding which has not been seen on any other offering from the company. Going by the images, the TV looks impressively thin and the bezels encompassing the display are ultra-narrow. The body and stand of the Mi TV 5 seem to be made out of metal which gives it a classy overall look.

Besides, the company in recently shared official teaser revealed that the Xiaomi TV 5 series will be equipped with far-field voice technology. This means that the device will have the ability to accept voice-guided commands from a distance ranging from 1 to 10 m.

According to previously shared teasers, the Xiaomi TV 5 will be equipped with Amlogic T972 chip which consists of a quad-core Cortex-A55 CPU that is clocked at 1.9 GHz. In terms of memory and storage, the high-end TV will be equipped with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of inbuilt storage. Xiaomi claims that the TVs hardware is capable of smoothly playing 8K video which is a notable feature.

The blogger had asked when the next-generation Mi TV will be launched since the year s drawing to an end. The Xiaomi exec is said to have hinted that the Mi TV 5 will be released in no distant time, specifically, within a month.

If we are to take Li’s statement literally, it implies that the Mi TV 5 will be released before November 19 and that is likely to be in China. IT Homes quotes an inside source to have said that the Mi TV 5 will be released before 11.11 (November 11). Interestingly, there has been virtually no indication of a new-generation Mi TV coming. The company recently launched the Mi TV Pro but apart for the 8K support, the TV isn’t too spectacular.

Xiaomi continues to rank as the number one smart TV brand in China and even in India.
