MediaTek (MTK) is challenging Qualcomm to lead the mobile chipset market, With the 2 low price MT6575 and MT6577 (dual-core) chips, MTK gain more order from China phone manufacturer. And now, rumored that MTK will release the first quad-core chip: MT6585.
According the news, the new MT6585 chip will launch at the end of this year. This chip is made by 28nm manufactur technology. This chip not only built GPU inside, also integrade a touch panel control chip. It will be innovation and will decrease smartphone cost. Of course, there is no information about the GPU yet, but should not be POWER SGX531 which built-in MTK former MT6575.
