MIUI 8 was announced alongside the Mi Max and is still in its testing stage for other Xiaomi devices. The Global Developer ROM was just made available for download yesterday (the MTK version of the Redmi Note 3 is omitted) with a stable release slated for next month.
Xiaomi however posted a teaser about the MIUI 9 on their Weibo page earlier today. The teaser indicates that the company is currently at the stage of receiving suggestions from fans. So if you have got suggestions on what new features the upcoming ROM should have, you should head over to Xiaomi’s page and air them.
MIUI 8 will be bringing some much needed changes and new features such as split-screen multi-tasking, scroll-able screenshots, duplicate apps: which for example lets you use 2 Whatsapp accounts on the same phone; cloud photo sync, new video editing tools, and a colourful UI.
