Xiaomi to launch a new Redmi phone on Aug 25, Redmi Note 4?

Xiaomi has officially announced a news conference scheduled for August 25 where the company is expected to launch a new smartphone. The expected Xiaomi smartphone is speculated to be a smartphone in the Redmi series with the Redmi Note 4 or Redmi 4 touted.

From the teaser, it is likely that the device will feature an all-metal body design and from the image render, it will probably have a 5.5-inch display size which makes the Redmi Note 4 very likely.

Apart from that, the poster also contains the logo of China Mobile which is an indication that the expected smartphone is likely a carrier based smartphone just like the China Unicom based Redmi 3X.

On the specs bench, the Xiaomi redmi Note 4 is expected with a 5.5-inch display screen with 1080p resolution and will be powered by a 2GHz processor touted to be a MediaTek Helio X20 chipset.  The processor will combine with a 3GB RAM to give the device a seamless performance. On the camera aspect, the Redmi Note 4 should pack a 13MP rear camera sensor and up front, there is an 8MP selfie camera. The devcie is said to have a 4,000mAh battery under its hood and will likely carry a 899 yuan ($136) price tag when launched.

    At the moment these specs don’t sound like much of an upgrade over the note 3 pro. Perhaps the camera is improved?

      If the Redmi 4 has no SD625, then I will get the special edition of the Note 3 Pro which will be even cheaper after the announcement of the new Redmi series.

        Note 3 pro prices have dropped a lot over the last 2 months. Agree they will drop further once the redmi 4/note 4 are released. Great buying opportunity

          Now Redmi note 3 pro 3GB/32GB already selling at super low price. Last price i know already reached around $165 (silver / gold color only) for oversea buyer including free shipping via registered air mail. Not bad as i got it reached to my door around 3 weeks.

          If Xiaomi never release Redmi note 4 with snapdragon then i just recommend to buy Redmi note 3 pro.

    Helio X20 and SD652/650 are almost the same
    now the only problems for me are – i need gorilla glass and FM radio

    Does anyone see the improvement in the Redmi Note 4 from the 3 series?

      I saw Redmi note 4 (Mediatek X20) is actually a downgrade from Redmi Note 3 pro (Qualcomm Snapdragon). I could be wrong btw as this model haven’t release yet.

      Again my opinion is not objective as i am biased toward qualcomm side already LOL.
