HP isn’t ready to call it quits in the smartphone game just yet. Yam Su Yin, the company’s Senior Director of Consumer PCs and Tablets for Asia Pacific, told The Indian Express just that, revealing that HP even has a device in the works at the moment.

Recognizing how massively successful smartphones has been, Yin implied that HP couldn’t afford to pass on an opportunity to throw its hat into the ring once again. Though she declined to offer a timetable as to when HP would be making its grand return to the smartphone stage, when asked about the possibility of an HP smartphone, Yin responded, “The answer is yes but I cannot give a timetable. It would be silly if we say no. HP has to be in the game.”

This, of course, meshes with what HP CEO said late last year about the company intending to release another smartphone and that it has to “get it right this time.” Similarly, Yin also recognized that an HP smartphone would have to do something drastically different from the competition if it is to have any chance of success.
