Coolpad can be a considered a pioneer in the 4G age having already released more than 10 4G devices and will release a new one soon. Unlike Coolpad’s other 4G phones, the new Coolpad 8017 will use an MTK 4G solution.

At the moment, Coolpad will only release a China Mobile edition of the 8017 and it will support TD-LTE, TD-SCDMA, and GSM. The Coolpad 8017 sports a 4-inch display 800 x 480 WVGA resolution. Its processor is the MT6582M quad-core processor (1.2GHz) and it has a RAM of just 512Mb and 4GB internal memory storage. It sports a rear-facing camera with 2mp and runs on a 1650mAh battery.

Like other MTK 4G phones, the Coolpad 8017 runs on the Android 4.4.2 but it uses Coolpad’s own CoolLife UI. As the snapshot shows, there’s a small hole on the left side of the phone. It looks like the 8017 may use noise-cancelling technology.
