Just yesterday, Meizu unveiled its brand new smartphone in the Blue Charm lineup called as the Meizu M2 Note. The phone sits between the entry level Meizu M1 Mini and the slightly better Meizu M1 Note.

But these are new models in a series that was just launched in December last year. The actual flagship lineup is the company’s MX series and its almost time to see the new model.

It looks like Meizu could be preparing for the launch of the MX5 soon as two new models, with identical specifications but different network connectivity have just been spotted on TENAA. The models numbers of these two Meizu devices are M575M and M575U and they feature pretty high-end specs, which makes us believe that this could be the Meizu MX5 flagship. The first one is the China Mobile version while the other is the China Unicom version.

According to the listing, the M575M and M575U models feature a 5.5-inch display with a body measuring 146×74.6×7.9mm and weighing just 147  grams. In comparison, the Meizu MX4 flagship came with a 5.36-inch display and a thicker 8.9mm body. The weight was the same as this model.

The display will be AMOLED panel with full HD 1080p resolution. As for the processor, there’s an octa-core 2.3Ghz chipset under the hood, most probably Mediatek’s Helio X10. There will be 3GB RAM on board with 16GB of non-expandable storage. There will be a 20MP rear facing camera along with just 3MP front facing one.

Unfortunately, TENAA did not reveal the images of the upcoming handset. So, at present, the leaked renders are the only images that we have of the MX5.
