Waiting for Android 7 update for your Xiaomi smartphone? Experience tells us that there is a very good chance that your Mi phones, older than a year, won’t get the latest Android version, at least not officially. You will get MIUI 9, but it will likely be based on Marshmallow.

Xiaomi is yet to reveal an official timetable for the release of the new Android 7 based MIUI 9 OS, but there is some good news for Xiaomi Mi 3, Mi 4 and Mi Note users (both standard and Mi Note Pro versions). The famous Mr. Ivan has once again ported stock Android 7 for the above-mentioned devices, which although unofficial, will get you the first taste of the Nougat update on your old smartphones.

Note that not all China Unicom and Telecom versions of the Xiaomi Mi 3 support this ROM. Also, this being an unofficial version, there are going to be bugs, so make sure you know the risk while flashing your smartphones with this ROM. Links are given below.
