The Nokia 8 is HMD Global’s flagship device for the year. It packs some impressive features such as dual cameras, a Snapdragon 835 processor, and dust and splash resistance. However, it has a regular 16:9 display. The upcoming Nokia 9 packs all that and swaps the display for one with an 18:9 aspect ratio.

Nokia 9

The Nokia 9 has been in the news a lot even before the announcement of the Nokia 8. There have been a bunch of leaks lately and the latest is an image of the rear cover.

The picture confirms some of the features we expect to see in the new flagship. There is a cut-out for dual rear cameras, flanked on the right by a circular LED flash. Just beneath the camera is a cut-out for a fingerprint scanner confirming that the display takes up the front of the phone.

We can’t tell what the material used for the cover is but it appears glossy. Our guess is glass.

The Nokia 9 will not only feature a full-screen display, it will also be the first Nokia phone to ditch the 3.5mm audio jack according to latest reports.
