Following the launch of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, it appears Samsung’s next product launch will be targeted at the entry-level/mid-range category. In the last few weeks, there have been a number of J-series phones showing up across benchmarking sites. Today, its the Galaxy J8 that has been seen on Geekbench.

Galaxy J8

The Samsung Galaxy J8 is benchmarked as the samsung SM-J800FN and like the SM-J600F, it is powered by an Exynos 7870 chip.

The 14nm octa-core chip is clocked at 1.59GHz (1.6GHz) and paired with 3GB of RAM. The device is also running Android 8.0.0 Oreo.

The benchmark scores are also similar to that of the Galaxy J6 seen on the site yesterday. The single-core score is 728 and the multi-core score is 3683 points.

Samsung hasn’t announced a date yet for the launch of any of the J-series but they shouldn’t be far off.  Nevertheless, their announcements will be silent and not a big event like the Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9+.
