Intex Technologies, an India-based smartphone, consumer durables and IT accessories manufacturer, has launched yet another budget smartphone in the Indian market — Intex Uday.
The smartphone comes with a 5.2-inch HD display with screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Under the hood, the device is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor from MediaTek. It comes packs with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory.
The Intex Uday smartphone features a 13-megapixel primary camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper which is also accompanied by an LED flash. Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS + GLONASS.
The device supports microSD card slot, which enables users to further expand the phone’s storage capacity up to 128GB. The dual SIM smartphone also comes with a fingerprint sensor on the back for added security.
The phone is running Android Nougat operating system out-of-the-box and since the phone is an entry-level device, we don’t expect it to receive any Android version updates. Intex is touting the inclusion of its DataBack feature, which provides 500MB of free data to customers every month upon consuming content. The phone is powered by a 2,800mAh battery.
Intex Uday smartphone will be available in three color options — Blue, Black, and Champaign. The phone has been priced at Rs. 7,999 (approximately $123) and will be available for purchase exclusively through leading retail chains in Pune, India.
Further, the company has partnered with Reliance Jio for giving a cashback worth Rs. 2,200 in the form of Jio Cash to the buyers of the Intex Uday smartphone.
Last month, the company had launched its entry-level smartphone under its Aqua series — Intex Aqua Lions E3, in partnership with Gujarat-based retail chain Poojara Telecom.
