The international variant of the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T already received the Android 8.1 Oreo update last month. Now it is the turn of the Chinese variants.

This shouldn’t be news anymore but for those who don’t know, the OnePlus phones sold in China run a different Android-based OS called HydrogenOS.

The update comes as HydrogenOS 5.1.0 on both devices and comes in at a little over 1.9GB. For the OnePlus 5T, the update brings full-screen gestures. The remaining features such as dynamic clock icon, automatic folder naming, cloud photo backup, game mode optimization etc. are the same on both devices.

The OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T were both released last year. In a matter of hours, they will be succeeded by the OnePlus 6. It should come with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box but users can choose to try out the new Android P beta update which was announced for it last week.

OnePlus also released a new update for the Chinese OnePlus 3T last week and includes Face Unlock. There is a chance the international variant will also get the feature soon.
