Samsung will likely launch a new Galaxy Tab soon and it will be the most powerful one from the Korean manufacturer. The Samsung SM-T835 a.k.a. Galaxy Tab S4 was benchmarked today and the result confirms a key component.

A device with the same model number was benchmarked on AnTuTu about three months ago. The benchmark result revealed the device has an Adreno 540 GPU and a CPU clocked at 2.3GHz. There is only one mobile SoC that has the above features and that is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835.

The device has now appeared on Geekbench, and the site confirms the Tab S4 is indeed powered by an MSM8998 processor which is also known as the Snapdragon 835. Geekbench also reveals the tablet will have 4GB of RAM.

The Galaxy Tab S3 which launched last April has a Snapdragon 820 processor and also 4GB of RAM. Its successor will not only have a more-powerful chipset but also a larger 10.5-inch display as against the Tab S3’s 9.7-inch screen.

AnTuTu also revealed that the front camera has been upgraded to 8MP but the rear camera is now a 12MP sensor. It may actually launch as 13MP. The Galaxy Tab S4 will have LTE support and 64GB of storage. Although it still won’t have NFC.
