On May 31, Xiaomi announced its latest flagship Mi 8 as well as the new iteration of its Android OS: MIUI 10. After the official announcement, the Chinese company started the beta testing phase and released a Beta ROM under the China Developer branch. However, the Global Stable version is yet to be released and many users may have to wait several months to see the update on their Xiaomi devices. Further, the Chinese ROM is not so suitable to be used by people outside of China.

If you are an international customer, you can now have a good and stable international version of the MIUI 10. Xiaomi EU has indeed released an unofficial ROM based on MIUI China Developer ROM which is perfect for international customers. Given that we are talking about an unofficial ROM, it will not come as a classic OTA update, but you will need to flash it manually. What you will have to do in order to flash it is unlock the bootloader and install a third-party recovery mode such as TWRP. Then you need to flash the ROM by following a detailed procedure which you can find by heading to the source link below. We suggest you to try flashing the ROM only if you have experience at doing so and we are not responsible in case of brick or other issues coming from this process.

Xiaomi EU’s unofficial ROM based on MIUI 10 can be flashed on the following phones: Xiaomi Mi 5, Mi 6, Mi 8, Mi 8 SE, Mi Mix, Mi Mix 2, Mi Mix 2S, Mi Note 2, Redmi 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro. Thanks to this ROM you will get several European languages as well as many new features, such as full-screen gestures for 18:9 displays, Mi AI machine learning system, facial recognition for authentication purposes and more. There will also be exclusive Xiaomi EU features such as screen off animations, search gestures, optimized RAM consumption, charging sound and more.
