Last month, Samsung launched its new mid-range smartphone in the Indian market — Samsung Galaxy A6. Now, the smartphone has received a price cut of Rs. 2,000 and is available for purchase for Rs. 19,990 (approximately $291), down from the launch price of Rs. 21,990 (approx. $321).

The new pricing of the Galaxy A6 is applicable on both online and offline purchases. The 64GB storage model of the phone will also be available for purchase at Rs. 20,990 (~$306) instead of the 22,990 (~$335) price tag announced during the phone’s launch in India. However, the 64GB storage variant is yet to go on sale in India.

The smartphone is available in three color options — Black, Blue, and Gold. On the other hand, its bigger sibling — the Galaxy A6 Plus is still retailing for Rs. 25,990, which roughly converts to $379.

The Samsung Galaxy A6 comes with a 5.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display with screen resolution of 1480 x 720 pixels and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the company’s own Exynos 7870 octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz. The chipset is coupled with 4GB RAM and 32GB / 64GB of internal storage.

In terms of the optics, the smartphone features a 16-megapixel camera on the back with f/1.7 aperture and autofocus. On the front side, the device comes equipped with a 16-megapixel camera with f/1.9 aperture for taking selfies and video calling. Both the front and rear cameras feature an LED flash for brighter photos. It also offers features such as Background Blur and Live Bokeh.

On the connectivity front, the Galaxy A6 offers 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, micro USB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone runs Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out of the box with the company’s own custom Samsung Experience user interface on top. The device is fuelled by a 3000mAh battery.
