Xiaomi brands itself as an internet company but the Chinese giant is best known for its smartphones which have a durable build coupled with affordable pricing. The company has now made an official entry into Bangladesh and it is three of its latest smartphones that get launched first before any of its numerous products.Xiaomi Bangladesh

Bangladesh isn’t really a large market but Xiaomi phones are fairly popular in the market despite the lack of an official Mi Store there. Hence the decision to make an official entry coordinated by Mi India. Xiaomi India head, Manu Kumar Jain made the announcement on Facebook. The Facebook post reveals that the Chinese smartphone vendor was making its debut in Bangladesh with three of its latest smartphones namely the Redmi S2, Redmi 5 and Redmi Note 5.

All three smartphones will be available in 463 Mi authorized offline stores across the country while Daraz Bangladesh will coordinate the sales online via its website – www.daraz.com.bd. However, only the pricing details of the Redmi S2 and Redmi 5 were unveiled in the post. The 3GB + 32GB variant of the Redmi S2 comes with a BDT 14,999 ($178) price tag while the 4GB + 64GB version comes with a BDT 17.999 ($213) pricing. On the other hand, the Redmi 5 will sell for around BDT 13,990 ($165). The online and offline sales will commence on July 26 at 2 PM local time.
