Xiaomi has taken the wraps off a new router in China, the BE5000, boasting the latest Wi-Fi 7 technology at an attractive price point. While details on a global launch are yet to be revealed, the BE5000 offers a significant upgrade for Chinese consumers looking to boost their home Wi-Fi.
The BE5000 promises blazing-fast speeds, with a theoretical maximum of 5,011 Mbps. Xiaomi claims this translates to a noticeable improvement over Wi-Fi 6, with throughput and speed increases of up to 68% and 48%, respectively.
The BE5000 packs features like Multi-Link Operation and Xiaomi’s Xrange 2.0 technology for smoother connections and wider coverage. This translates to a more stable connection, which is especially beneficial for larger homes or users battling signal drops.
Gamers will appreciate the built-in game accelerator, while integration with Xiaomi’s HyperOS system allows for easy connection and management of smart home devices.
The BE5000 sports a sleek white design with five antennas and offers a variety of connection options, including a 2.5G port and three Gigabit LAN ports.
Pricing
The Xiaomi BE5000 router is priced at just 279 yuan (around $40) in China. It is currently unknown if or when the brand plans to launch the router in the global market.
