Xiaomi is known for its diverse range of devices catering to various user needs. Beyond the standard offerings, Xiaomi often partners with other brands to make limited-edition smartphones with unique designs.

One such collaboration is with the globally recognized entertainment giant, Disney. The partnership specifically focuses on Xiaomi’s Civi line of smartphones, a series known for its focus on style, camera capabilities, and features geared toward a younger audience.

The companies have worked together to launch a couple of phones, while there’s also a rumor of a new Disney Edition Civi phone. Let’s take a look at them.

1. Xiaomi Civi 3 Disney 100th Anniversary Edition

In May 2023, to commemorate Disney’s 100th anniversary, Xiaomi launched its first Disney-themed smartphone – the Xiaomi Civi 3 Disney 100th Anniversary Limited Edition.

The phone itself maintained the specifications of the original Civi 3 with a mid-range processor, a triple-lens rear camera, and a high refresh rate display.

However, the Disney touch came in through with the design elements. The phone featured a subtle Disney 100th-anniversary logo on the back, alongside a pre-installed Mickey Mouse theme.

The theme included a custom charging animation, lock screen designs, wallpapers, filters, and stickers. The phone came bundled with a special Mickey Mouse-themed phone case as well.

It was released in a sole 12GB+512GB memory version in China and was priced at 2,899 yuan (~$445). You can check our unboxing video of the phone below:

Following the 100th-anniversary edition, Xiaomi released another Civi 3 variant – the Xiaomi Civi 3 Disney Strawberry Bear limited edition. As expected, it retained the core hardware of the standard Civi 3.

The key difference here was the focus on Disney’s LOTSO Bear character, also known as Strawberry Bear in China. The version sported a more playful design with the LOTSO figure on the phone being 3D sculpted.

The customization extends to the software too: it boots up with LOTSO animation, the app icons and wallpapers are all LOTSO-themed, and even the charging animation shows LOTSO’s arm collecting strawberries. Additionally, the camera has a cool hidden feature allowing you to use LOTSO-style frames for selfies.

Xiaomi also included a bunch of Strawberry Bear-themed accessories in the package. These include:

  • Strawberry Bear headstand
  • Strawberry Bear magnetic phone case
  • Strawberry Bear head holder
  • Fashionable hanging chain
  • Transparent protective case
  • Commemorative card
  • Custom SIM eject pin
  • Custom stickers

It was launched in China for 2,499 yuan (~ $387) in a sole 12/512GB variant. We have attached our unboxing video of the device below:

3. Xiaomi Civi 3 Specs

Since both Disney-themed Civi 3 variants used the standard Civi 3 as a base, let’s quickly recap at its specifications.

The Civi 3 features a mid-range processor from MediaTek called the Dimensity 8200. It is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

The display is a 6.55-inch OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The camera system includes a triple-lens setup on the back, with the main sensor being a 50MP unit.

The front has two selfie cameras, one for wide and ultrawide shots. Each are of 32MP resolution. The phone ran on Android 13 with Xiaomi’s MIUI 14 on top and draws power from a 4500mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging.

4. Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro Disney Princess Edition

Following the popularity of the Civi 3 Disney editions, recent rumors suggest that Xiaomi might extend its partnership with Disney to include the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro.

Reportedly, there is a Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro Disney Princess Edition in work. While its details are scarce, leaks suggest the phone might follow a similar approach to the Civi 3 variants.

That is, you can expect the phone’s hardware to be identical to the standard Civi 4 Pro. Meaning it will have a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and a 4700mAh cell with 67W charging support. The Disney twist, however, remains a mystery for now.

Whether the Civi 4 Pro Disney Princess Edition will feature a specific princess or adopts a more generic Disney Princess theme is uncertain. It’s also unclear what design elements or bundled accessories might be included. We will update the article once more details emerge.

5. Limited Availability

The limited-edition nature of these Disney-themed Civi phones adds to their allure for collectibility. But these phones are often released exclusively in certain regions, like China, making them hard to get hold of for international consumers. Additionally, due to their limited production runs, it could be difficult to grab one even in the region its available.
