Few months ago, HMD Global had introduced the Nokia X6 smartphone In China. In July, the company had launched the Nokia X5 with identical design as Nokia X6. Today, the company had held an exclusive launch event in India to announce the arrival of the same smartphones as Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus in the country
Nokia 6.1 Plus Specifications and Features
The Nokia 6.1 Plus is the first notched display smartphone from the company. It is fitted with 19:9 aspect ratio supporting 5.8-inch display that produces Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The screen is shielded by 2.5D curved glass. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 coupled with 4 GB of RAM are the driving force of the Nokia 6.1 Plus smartphone. The 3,060mAh battery of the smartphone supports Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology through USB-C. It features an internal storage of 64 GB. The external storage slot that is available through a hybrid SIM slot supports up to 256 GB of microSD card.
The back panel of the Nokia 6.1 Plus is fitted with HDR technology enabled vertical dual camera setup that includes a primary RGB sensor of 16-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture that is accompanied by a secondary monochrome sensor of 5-megpaixel with f/2.2 aperture. The notch of the phone features a selfie camera of 16-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture.
The other features that are available on the Nokia 6.1 Plus include rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, face unlock, 4G VoLTE, dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and 3.5mm audio jack.
Nokia 5.1 Plus Specifications and Features
The Nokia 5.1 Plus is another notched display phone that appears like a lower version of the Nokia 6.1 Plus. It features 5.86-inch display with 2.5D curved glass that produces HD+ resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The MediaTek Helio P60 SoC powers the phone along with 3 GB of RAM. Like the Nokia 6.1 Plus, the 5.1 Plus handset also features 3,060mAh battery. It has a native storage of 32 GB and it carries support microSD card through hybrid SIM slot.
For photography, the Nokia 5.1 Plus features f/2.0 aperture 13-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera setup on its back panel and a front-facing selfie shooter of 8-megapixel with f/2.2 aperture. The other features of are rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, face unlock, 4G VoLTE, dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and USB-C.
The Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus are both running on stock version of Android 8.1 Oreo. These two devices will be among the first Nokia phones to receive Android 9 Pie update in India.
Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus Pricing and Availability
Nokia 6.1 Plus has landed in India as a Flipkart-exclusive smartphone with a price tag of Rs. 15,999. The handset can also be bought through Nokia’s online. The pre-bookings of the smartphone have already started in India and it is slated to hit the market on Aug. 30. The color variants of the Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus are Midnight Blue, Gloss White and Gloss Black.
The pricing of the Nokia 5.1 Plus was not confirmed at its launch event. The Finnish firm will be declaring its pricing in the coming weeks and the smartphone will be arriving in the Indian markets in September. It will be also available for buying through Nokia’s official online store and Flipkart.
