About a month ago, Xiaomi launched the next-generation Mi Max smartphone — Mi Max 3. The phone was launched in three color options — Black Stone, Dream Gold, and Deep Sea Blue. Until now, only Black and Gold color variants were available for purchase in China.

Now, from today onwards, the Deep Sea Blue color variant of the Xiami Mi Max 3 will also be available for purchase in China. The first sale of the Mi Max 3 Blue variant will take place today. The company had already started taking pre-orders a couple of days ago. The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant will be available for 1,999 yuan, which roughly converts to $290.

Coming to the specifications, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 features a huge 6.9-inch Full HD+ display 2160 x 1080 pixels screen resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio, which offers a screen-to-body ratio 85.19 percent. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor which the company claims to provide 40 percent better performance than Mi Max 2’s SD625 SoC.

The 4GB RAM variant of the Mi Max 3 packs 64GB internal storage while the 6GB RAM model comes with 128GB onboard storage. For enhanced gaming experience on games like Arena of Valor, the device supports high frame multi-core multi-threading and offers gaming features like game toolbox, one-click acceleration, screen and video capture as well as quickly reply on WeChat.

The phone features a 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel AI dual camera with a pixel size of 1.4μm along with dual PD dual-core focus that offers faster and accurate autofocus. On the front, it comes equipped with an 8-megapixel selfie camera along with a dedicated soft-light LED flash.

Along with the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, the Mi Max 3 also carries support for face unlock feature. Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB-C and 3.5mm audio jack

In terms of software, the handset is pre-installed with Android 8.1 Oreo and the latest edition of MIUI which also brings along Xiao AI voice assistant. The Mi Max 3 has a 5,500mAh battery and supports Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging. The massive battery capacity makes it possible to use the smartphone for 2 days on a single charge and offers a standby time of one month.
