Sony has unleashed the Sony Xperia XZ3 as its latest flagship smartphone at the IFA 2018 event in Berlin, Germany. It has arrived as the successor of the Xperia XZ2 that was unveiled earlier this year. The Xperia XZ3 is first flagship phone from the company to feature a 6-inch display. The handset is packed with impressive specs and it is the first phone to come preloaded with Android 9 Pie.
Sony Xperia XZ3 Specifications and Features
The Xperia XZ3 features an elongated body with reduced top and bottom bezels. It is equipped with a 7000-series aluminum frame that increases the durability of the phone. The XZ3 is fitted with a 6-inch OLED HDR+ notch-less screen that is curved towards the edges. It supports an aspect ratio of 18:9 and QHD+ resolution of 2880 x 1440 pixels. Like the other Xperia flagship phones, the XZ3’s screen is equipped with Sony Bravia TV image processing technology. The front and rear sides of the phone are flanked with Gorilla Glass 5 panels. The handset measures 158 x 73 x 9.9mm and weighs 193 grams.
The Snapdragon 845 SoC and 4 GB of RAM are the driving force of the Xperia XZ3. It has a native UFS 2.1 storage of 64 GB. A 3,300mAh battery that supports fast charging through USB-C will power the smartphone. The handset is also equipped with support for Qi wireless charging and Quick Charge 3.0. The XZ3 runs on the all new Android 9 Pie OS. For one-handed operation, the Japanese manufacturer has include Side Sense that gives access to key apps by double-tapping on the side of XZ3.
Debunking all rumors that claimed that it will be equipped with dual rear cameras, the Sony Xperia XZ3 features a single rear camera of 19-megapixel with f/1.8 aperture. The rear snapper supports 960fps slow-motion video shooting and 4K HDR technology. The handset features a dedicated hardware button to launch the camera. For shooting selfies, it is equipped with 13-megapixel front camera.
The XZ3 offers Hi-Res audio through its S-Force Front Surround Sound speakers. The other features of the smartphone include single / dual SIM versions, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 4G VoLTE, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB-C. It does not feature a 3.5mm audio jack. The phone comes with a USB-C to 3.5mm audio jack adapter.

Sony Xperia XZ3 Pricing and Availability
The Xperia XZ3 will be landing in the U.S. with a price tag of $899 on Sept. 24 through Amazon and Best Buy. Sony is providing the Xperia Ear Duo bundle to the buyers of the XZ3 in the U.S.
