Xiaomi has announced that the flagship Mi 8 white version which features an 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage will go on sale today at 8 pm China time. Indeed, the high-end variant is presently available on Mi.com for buyers in China. The new colour variant joins the black and blue variant that were hitherto available. The colour variant is available for 3299 yuan (~$480) which is also the same as that of China.
Apart from the gentle White coloured rear panel, the rest of the specs are the same. To recall, the Mi 8 features a 6.21-inch FHD+ display with a notch at the top that houses an IR face scanner, a 20MP selfie camera, and the usual sensors. The device also comes with a glass body and is powered by a Snapdragon 845 processor. It gets its juice from a 3,400mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4.0. On the rear of the Mi 8 are two 12MP sensors with OIS and optical zoom. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the back.
The Mi 8 is the first smartphone in the world with dual-frequency GPS which location accuracy up to a decimeter-level. There is NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, and a USB-C port but just like its predecessor, the Mi 6, it doesn’t feature a 3.5mm audio jack. The White variant isn’t likely to go out of stock soon and we expect Xiaomi to make it available outside China. You can check out the store listing from the source link below.
