Samsung makes the best OLED displays and is the top supplier for a bunch of phone manufacturers including Apple. However, the Cupertino-based company has been investing in other display manufacturers in order to break its dependence on  Samsung.

LG Display now apple secondary supplier

Apple seems to have succeeded as LG Display has been reported to be their new secondary supplier of OLED panels. The news comes from Korean publication Electronic Times and they say LG Display recently passed Apple’s quality tests and are already preparing for mass production of displays at the local E6 Plant

LG Display will be the second supplier of OLED displays for the new iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max.

Apple has been trying to diversify its supply chain and with LG now on board, its reliance on Samsung will be less. It may also be able to sign better display deals with Samsung.
