In the past couple of weeks, a new Redmi phone has been in the news. That phone is the Redmi Note 6 Pro and it will take over from the Redmi Note 5 Pro as the king of the Redmi series.

Just this morning, images showing the specs of the phone leaked on the web and it revealed a couple of key specs. Now we have gotten exclusive info which makes us believe the launch of the phone is very close.

Redmi Note 6 Pro

According to an insider, the Redmi Note 6 Pro has begun shipping to major sellers and stock should be ready by tomorrow. This sort of explains how those images showing the phone’s specs came to be. We want to believe they originated from a seller who already received supply.

Seeing as the Xiaomi has an event on  Wednesday, September 19. We believe they will most likely announce the Redmi Note 6 Pro alongside the Mi 8 Youth and Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint edition rather than having a separate launch for it.

The Redmi Note 6 Pro will come with a 6.26-inch screen with a 19:9 aspect ratio which means it has a notch. A leaked spec sheet has revealed the display has a Full HD+ resolution. It will come in two variants (for now) – 3GB RAM + 32GB and 4GB RAM + 64GB. Both variants will be powered by the Snapdragon 636 processor. This may be a letdown for some folks but it makes sense. If the Redmi Note 6 Pro were to come with the same chipset inside the Mi A2/Mi 6X, it will affect sales of the latter seeing as the Redmi Note 6 Pro already trumps it with a bigger battery and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Apart from having a bigger display than its predecessor, The Redmi Note 6 Pro will also come with dual cameras on both sides – 12MP + 5MP on the rear and 20MP + 2MP in front within the notch. It will keep the same 4000mAh battery capacity and MicroUSB port and also have a hybrid dual SIM slot (nano only).

The newly leaked spec sheet also mentions the phone will come in gold, black, rose gold, red, and blue but we don’t know if all these colors will be available at launch.
