Realme, a new smartphone company that recently started operating as an independent brand after its split from parent company Oppo, has now announced that it has crossed the one million mark for its smartphone sales.

The one million smartphone sales include combined sales figures for both of its smartphones — Realm 1 and Realme 2. This development comes just after 4 months of the Realme 1 launch and just two weeks since the Realme 2 went on sale in India.

Realme Sales

During the first flash sale of Realme 2 in India, the company sold 200,000 units within just 5 minutes on online market Flipkart. A week later, during the second flash sale, the company claimed to have sold 170,000 units, bringing the total sales of Realme 2 in India to 370,000 units. The company has not yet revealed the number of units it sold in the third flash sale that took place today.

The Oppo Realme 1, announced in May this year, features a 6-inch Full-HD+ display with screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an 84.75 percent screen-to-body ratio. The device is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 processor clocked at 2GHz. It comes in three models based on memory configuration — 3GB, 4GB, and 6GB RAM. The 3GB RAM model comes with 32GB of internal storage while the 4GB RAM model packs 64GB of onboard storage. The top-end variant having 6GB RAM packs 128GB of internal storage.

Coming to the camera department, the phone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and on the front side, there’s an 8-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling. It has a Face Unlock feature that is claimed to unlock the smartphone in just 0.1 seconds. It runs ColorOS 5.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system and is fueled by a 3,410mAh battery.

Realme 2 Color Options

On the other hand, the Realme 2 features a bigger 6.2-inch display but the company has downgraded the screen resolution from Full HD to 720p HD+. The FullView 2.5D curved glass display with 18:9 aspect ratio offers a screen resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

It is powered by Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz and comes in two variants — 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage. There’s a 13-megapixel primary sensor paired with a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. On the front side, there’s an 8-megapixel shooter for taking selfies and video calling. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with the company’s own ColorOS 5.1 custom interface and is fuelled by a bigger 4,230mAh battery.

Realme has scheduled a launch event on 26th and 27th September in India, where the company will be launching the Realme 2 Pro, which the company says will be the real successor of the Realme 1 launched last year.
