ASUS has recently confirmed that it will be launching the ZenFone Max Pro M2 smartphone on Dec. 11 in Indonesia. The key specifications of the smartphone have already surfaced in the previous week. XDA Developers have spotted an ASUS phone with model number ASUS_X01BD_1 in the device catalog of Google Play Console. It is speculated that this device could be the upcoming ZenFone Max Pro M2 smartphone. The listing contains an image of the smartphone.

The low resolution render of the ZenFone Max Pro M2 reveals that it will be featuring a notched screen. The appearance of the smartphone is similar to the ZenFone 5Z flagship phone. The icons present on the screen show that its could be running on near stock version of Android like the predecessor ZenFone Max Pro M1 phone. The handset is running on Android 8.1 Oreo OS.

The Google Play Console listing also reveals that the device will be featuring 6 GB of RAM. Since the predecessor smartphone featured a 6 GB RAM variant, it is very likely that the highest configuration edition of the Max Pro M2 could be also featuring the same amount of RAM.

As far as specifications of the smartphone is concerned, a leak from previous week had revealed that the Max Pro M2 features a 6-inch display that carries support for Full HD+ resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels. The Snapdragon 660 chipset is expected to power the smartphone along with 4 GB of RAM. It is likely to hit the market in storage choices of 64 GB and 128 GB.

One of the salient features of the smartphone could be its triple camera setup. However, the configuration of its triple rear cameras is not available yet. For shooting selfies, it may come equipped with a 13-megapixel selfie camera.

The ZenFone Max Pro M1 was a worthy rival for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro in India. Xiaomi has recently confirmed that the Redmi Note 6 Pro will go official on Nov. 22 in India. The handset also features a notched screen and it is equipped with dual front cameras and dual rear shooters. There is a possibility that ASUS may launch ZenFone Max Pro M2 in India soon to rival with the Note 6 Pro.
